I should've gone to Beaufort Memorial -- this place is ridiculous. I waited in the waiting area for hours, and then once placed in a room, I waited a lengthy period of time without seeing a nurse or doctor. It took forever for anyone to even come into the room to ask my name, my concern, or any basic questions. What is the standard of care at Novant Health? This experience was extremely disappointing and not what I expect from a healthcare provider. The older lady at the registration desk were short tempered, unhelpful, and rude. I have been there many many times but THIS time absolutely sucked!!!! I am fully insured but had a $50 copay. Funds are running low this week! I have my social security check pending but it has not gone through yet. I could have called in a payment tomorrow. But NO! They wanted payment TODAY or I will be forced to leave! Isn't that illegal? The girl at the desk was very sweet and the doctor that I saw was very nice and seemed very interested in my problem. The only criticism I would have is that the wait was very long. (and I forgot my book) I saw people coming in after me and they went in before me so they would not have that criticism, but I was the only one left in the waiting room by the time I went in. I had my brother go there after being sick for quite awhile(stubborn guy). Turns out they saved his life. I was so busy helping my brother, I was ignoring myself and was so sick myself, I went there and the whole staff were beyond wonderful. Bobbi the receptionist is down right nasty! After telling her the reason for the visit her only concern was telling us how long the wait was. When we told her we would wait you could see the disgust in her face. She handed us the paperwork and when we asked a question she scolded us. She called us up to make a payment. When we handed her the money she did not have change and stated "this is why the sign says credit cards only". We saw no sign . Very sad that an individual talks to and treats people this way, let alone people who are coming to you because they need help. Carolina Forest definitely has plenty of urgent cares and ER's. No need to go somewhere that is going to make you feel worse when your already feeling bad. read more

To start, I read several bad reviews but there were some good too. I decided to give it a try as my primary care doctor had no appointments and I needed relief. I arrived at 8 am when they opened and walked out of the door an hour later with a prescription for antibiotics. The front desk person was pleasant and efficient. I was processed quickly and placed in an exam room. The nurse assistant was kind and considerate. I was seen by P. A. Will Meyer. Why 3 stars ,is I needed a chest x ray and had to go to market commons for an X-ray because their X-ray tech went home early at the Carolina Forest office ..I did asked before I even signed in if X-ray was available and they were honest about it . it just stinks having to drive to another office to complete my visit and confirm the diagnosis . hoping I only get billed for one visit read more

They were closed for a while, I am not sure why but this year when they opened, I have loved them. The staff are sweet but the two lady doctors that I have seen both are amazing, friendly, caring and knowledgeable. My daughter pediatrician has overlooked and situation with my daughter and the doctor at this location prioritized us. Finally are going down to a specialist at MUSC. It's great to have drs pay attention and truly HEAR what you are saying. read more

I went to this practice on Sunday with severe pain. I was diagnosed with shingles. I was told by the doctor, Dr. Christine Lindsay, who was very pleasant that if advil doesn't help for the pain, to contact the office and she would call in something else. I did not sleep that evening and called the office at 9:30 the next day to see if they would call in something more. They said someone would contact me back. I called back at 2:15 and they said they were busy and would call back. I then called at 4:30 and a nurse said she would have someone call me back. there was still no response. Eventually when called again the doctor said they would not prescribe it because he was not the doctor that saw me. He implied I needed to go to the ER if I felt I needed narcotics. I wanted the doctor to call in a prescription for Neurontin which is a standard medicine used for shingles pain. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a doctors office. I am not a person who normally complains about a doctors office but shingles is no picnic and my case should not have been treated like it was! I have no issue with the doctor I saw initially, but the male doctor that was on today 7/24 decided to ignore me all day and not take care of their patient. Please read this entire review! I went to this facility after leaving a pain care specialist's office with a blood pressure of 98/43. When I arrived, there were quite a few people in the waiting room. Nevertheless, as soon as I told the receptionist the reason for my visit, I moved to the front of the line. Staff took my blood pressure--very low, again--and took urine and blood samples for testing. The doctor came in immediately and assisted the technician in performing an EKG. The doctor then went over my blood pressure medications and told me she thought I had been prescribed too much medication. She made some adjustments. I can certainly understand the frustration of long wait times. But keep in mind that some people, like myself, come in with life-threatening emergencies, so these people go to the front of the line and often take up a lot of time. I just moved here. I am trying to find a primary care physician. Doctors Care was a life-saver for me. Please understand that many doctors do not take patients who have only medicare or medicaid, and they don't want to be writing off expenses for patients who have no insurance and either can't or refuse to pay after treatment. I'm sure you have heard of doctors who say they are no longer taking new patients. . . . Be grateful this facility exists! There are no $400+ monthly premiums, and even when you have a primary care physician, sometimes you have to wait there, too. Once, I waited over 3 hours because another patient had a heart attack in the doctor's office! read more

Horrible experience. My daughter has seen a doctor 4 weeks ago with a fever 103, the doctor run the tests, they were negative, so she was sent home with best wishes. She wasn't able to return to school for 2 days due to fever. When I went to the office today to get a note for school, they refuse to give it. They have all the notes, the symptoms, everything. The explanation is "the doctor legally doesn't have to give you a note " The office was not able to provide me with a price list for services, they said they don't have it which is BS since they expect you to pay for your visit at the time of service. How would they know how much? Also why are they allowed to charge different amount for the same service provided? (Insured vs noninsured? First time visit or not? There is no extra service for the first time patient) why does the doctor run tests that are not medical emergency without explaining how much it is and doesn't change the outcome of the treatment without asking the patient ( I'm talking about flu test that is $200). read more

My son had a fever and I had no choice but to take him to this doctors care because his primary dr could not see him right away. I was skeptical at first because I've been to urgent cares many times before and usually had to wait forever and the drs were never very helpful in my past experiences. When I got to the facility, the front desk lady was super sweet and efficient. I did my registration online which made the process easier. Although there were a few people ahead of us, we really only had to wait about 30-45 mins. Once we were in the back, the nurse was WONDERFUL! She was so sweet and considerate of my son (being that he is 5). She made my son feel very comfortable. It didn't take long at all for the dr to come in. He was amazing as well. He didn't rush into just giving my son antibiotics and all those drugs that are sometimes unnecessary. If you have toddlers or young children I would definitely recommend going to this doctors care. They definitely know how to interact with children and cater to their needs! read more

The front desk woman is rude and careless with personal information. When returning my ID she held it up right in front of another gentleman as she called me and I walked across the room, meanwhile he is free to stare at it and get all my personal information. Secondly she says: ma'am, and two of us look up, and she says: fuzzy, and points to the other lady. First of all - she checked us both in, so she should have looked up her name and addressed her that way (it wasn't exactly crowded with only four people in the waiting room). Second - wth does that even mean, calling someone a name?? You're supposed to be a professional. read more

I saw Dr. O'Neal on a Friday the first part of December with knee pain. He was cordial enough and ordered xrays of my knee, which he said showed nothing and sent me away with a prescription for an Nsaid (same class medication as Ibuprofen). He told me that if it got worse, to let him know and we could try steroids or referral to an orthopedist. Well, 2 weeks later it was worse. I called and left a message for him to please respond with recommendations. Two weeks later, I called again, and again there was no response. I called again to ask for a copy of my xrays. Called Coastal Orthopedics, made my own appointment for the next day. I have never been so disappointed in a physician as have have been with Dr. O'Neal. His lack of compassion and attention is shameful. read more

Not impressed at all. I know this is a doc in the box type place and believe me I appreciate the fact that you can come in without an appointment, but this location is lack luster. My boyfriend and I have both had bad experiences here. He was injured at work at had stitches done here and the doctor messed up his stitches in the room, said oops, and his stitches ended up popping a few days later and now he has a very weird scar on his hand due to the stitches being done so oddly. In my most recent experience I had to come here to have a TB test done for a job interview. I don't know anything about TB tests other than the basics and when I went in the older woman behind the front desk was rather rude to me. She made me feel stupid for not knowing which strand I needed for the test, and when I asked very normal, need to know questions about when I needed to come back to have my results read she was very condescending and snarky to me, acting as if I bothered her. I've worked in customer service for years and her tone and the way she spoke to me was uncalled for. People come to this location because they are sick, your compassion and empathy should be much higher if you're working front desk, especially in something relating to the medical field. If you ask for my opinion, I'd say go to another location, there are plenty more in the area, trust me, save your energy, you shouldn't have to feel worse when you're already sick. read more

This is the BEST urgent care I have ever been to. The staff is amazing took great care of me right away. Got me in quick too. I had a motorcycle accident was having issue with some cuts and when they saw them they took action asap. Told me to come back the next two days for them to check the areas to make sure its healing the way it should. I will for now on being going here with any emergencies. My experience, unlike some others, was wholly positive. Went on a Saturday afternoon at about 3pm expecting short staff and a long wait. Was seen in less than 30 minutes and the staff was 110% professional. Doc was spot-on and quick with a diagnosis, took the time to explain things, called in an Rx, and we were on our way. Dr. Eaton is one of the best doctors I've ever seen. I saw him last week for a problem and he was concerned, efficient, and talked with me about the problem. He gave me very good advice on the questions that I asked him. During our discussion I realized how knowledgeable he is. Carolina Forest residents are very fortunate to have him to go to with a medical problem. Oh, He also referred me to the specialist I needed to see and the appointment was scheduled very quickly. Do not go here under any circumstances, you will regret it. Total incompetence, not to mention language barrier. I don't speak Russian, and she doesn't speak English to good. The nurse Peter was excellent! He was very efficient and friendly. Plus he is very funny! The PA Catherine is always right on with my diagnosis and knows all the right questions to ask. She is also great with my seven year old daughter. I have a great experience every time I come here and would rather go here then my regular doctor. This is the worst walk in clinic I have ever visited. I was asked to come to a follow up appointment and the doctor, THE SAME DOCTOR from the first visit, didn't even check my records. She had no idea why I was in upon walking into the room. They also have my incorrect billing address. Guess who has been collecting interest in medical bills for five months now! I just want to say Thank you to the staff. It was the best experience I have ever had in a Doctors office. I called in around 7:30pm to see if I could come in for a gash in my leg. Peter answered the phone and told me to come on in (VERY NICE). I came in and they took me right away. The Doctor Maria, was so nice and stitched up my leg very well. She was super sweet and took the time to explain what was going to happen. There was also two other females, I didn't catch their names, but the nurse who took my vitals (shorter, dark brown hair, sweet looking) was also extremely friendly. I felt bad for coming in late, and all four of the employees took their time and did what needed to be done. They were all so nice and made the stressful and nerve wracking experience one that I will always remember. I can't explain the gratuity I have towards all of them. While I waited I heard receptionist telling callers an hour wait...That was obviously incorrect. Their business model is to overbook. I don't know how this place is in business. Fiancé thought he broke his hand so we came here. Was told their x-ray technician was out with the flu. Sad that a company that is open 7 days a week only staffs ONE on their payroll. That's not even the worst part.. they asked us to drive to the 21st avenue office to be x-rayed and COME BACK to their office to be seen. These people are incompetent. I went in for a simple work required annual TB test. I explained which test was needed and which one was not accepted and they still ran the wrong test in August 2018 which was not accepted by my employer per their guidelines. I had to set up a second visit (10 days ago) and have another TB test. After 10 days of waiting and no response, I called the office in Carolina Forest this morning to get my results. (FYI...according my paperwork received this morning, Doctors Care was notified of my results from Quest Diagnostics on 3.08.19 which means they had my results 6 days ago and the office never informed me). I signed paperwork stating they had my permission to email or leave a text of my results upon completion. They had all my methods of contact on file. This morning, I called three times after being on hold and then someone apparently hung up the phone while I was waiting three separate times. After the forth attempt via phone, I got a male nurse on the phone. It was obvious he was agitated from the tone in his voice. He said I could just come pick up my results and I informed him that I signed the paperwork to allow him to email my test results. He was not a happy camper! He obviously did not have time for me. He looked up my records and emailed me the test result from August 2018 (the unaccepted test) and not from the most recent secondary test 10 days ago. All this testing was from my own expense and time as a result of their incompetence. I called Doctors Care back again, after a brief hold, got a female on the phone. As I was explaining what happened, she hung up the phone in mid conversation. There was no cursing or abusive language what so ever. Apparently understaffed and possibly did not have time to listen to my issue. I called back again, got the male nurse back on the phone and he argued with me that he emailed me the correct test until he realized his error. He then emailed me the correct test after the call ended. It is a shame that I had to make 6 or 7 phone calls, talked to 4 or 5 people, some more than once, hung up on, etc just to get a TB test result for work. Myself and also my family will ever step another foot in this office again! I will never recommend this site to any friends, in fact I will tell them to steer clear of this facility. It's not worth the hassle. There always to be some sort of issue or problem when dealing with these people. The doctors are good, it's the staff or "the gate keepers" that always seem to be uninformed and in many cases rude. Good luck to any new patients who test the waters at this facility. I hope your experience is / was much better than my experiences. I will take my family and business to another business with more friendly competent and polite people! read more

I've been going to this place since 2008 however, the last time I went they charged me for the maximum visit even though I diagnosed myself...I went in for food poisoning just to get a Rx for nausea and diarrhea. They took my blood pressure multiple times then sent me on my way. There was no lab work, no blood drawn, yet I had a bill of $225 even though this Office was in my network and my copay should've been $30. They charged me for an office visit AND ambulatory services...I didn't even have an ambulance there was NO EMERGENCY. Never go to this office. They completely screwed me and the billing receptionist had a very bad attitude with me and wasn't helpful at all. read more

I am shocked and at a loss for words at the lack of professionalism Maria Baens MD displayed when seeing me for less then 5 minutes today. I waited 4 hours at home before being sent a text to come in to then sit in the office for over 90 minutes waiting for the "Doctor" to see me. She spoke to me with an elevated voice asking me questions when the answers were on my chart. She was upset with me that she was shorthanded and told me that I would be better off seeing a family doctor! i was at doctors care 3 weeks ago with brochitis i got meds.from a woman doctors very nice well relapse went back this week still had in lungs i think the cipro didn't work so i wanted to get another antibiotic well the doctor who works there didn't want tty i give me one i had to beg for more then i said i use a special cough syrup well he i situated i was a drug addict and he would not give but remember before 3 weeks ago haven been there in a year well i walk out of there practically after sitting 5 hours crying cause he would give me what's on my chart that works for me in past so it's so sad they he did that never going back there he even said you could get a dwi.oj this medicine well i take at night cause i coughing so much unfortunately i had a bad time at this office please pass on doctors care in carolina forest should not discrimnate. we're there to see doc.to get better .but i guess we're drug addicts. bad to go to .please i hope nobody else goes through this i pray .but i kinda getting better after i beg for antibiotics . of course my husband had to go to the supervisor at different location to get something close to what cough medicine works for me after all i have asmatic.brochtis.its a shame to go through this .the doctor that i seen 1 told me he count give me for he desert have his license to subscribe for that was a lie . read more
