The Americanos are legitimately outstanding. Perfect balance - robust but smooth. Kind of like me. The baristas are one step short of ultra-hipster, which is exactly right. Professional first, then accommodating, with just enough friendliness to feel natural instead of inauthentic. Service has been consistently solid. The space leans Danish modern with blond wood tables, exposed brick, clean lines. The cobalt blue pendant lights are sculptural elongated cones in glossy lacquer, hanging like exclamation points from the ceiling. Bold, Scandinavian, confident. The whole space feels thought out and not cold. The crowd skews a bit older with a very Country Club / 7th Ave Parkway energy. Grown ups enjoying good coffee. When the weather's good, the glass garage door come up and the place opens to fresh air and the steady buzz of traffic on 6th Ave. There's sidewalk seating out front with a couple picnic tables. You'll find me here early in the morning, taking a break on my walk, drinking an Americano and enjoying the atmosphere. Enjoyed this coffee shop just the other day on a beautiful afternoon. We were in the neighborhood tagging along with my bf for his house hunting. After looking at several homes, we spotted this shop on the very corner of 6th and Gilpin. It's was perfectly spotted as if to say that it was inviting us to take a break. We took that invitation!! It stays open until 5pm on Sunday. When we stepped in it was around 3pm. All the pastries were gone and yet we didn't need any food so this was no problem. This is a "garage turned into a shop" thing. The garage part still remains although it's glass/plastic (not sure which one) so when it's down, it becomes a window. Inside is mostly black with brick walls. I like its chic look where it's atmospheric; it is creating a quiet ambiance. We also didn't get bothered by the noise coming from the 6th (I know it's a busy street.) The man and the female workers were both welcoming. The menu is pretty simple. This eliminates confusion people may have upon ordering. I went with the Matcha Latte (iced) and he went with the Drip Coffee. I asked for honey syrup on the side so I would be able to regulate the amount of it. They simply handed me the whole bottle of it so I could pour. LOL! They are easygoing. The lady worker told my bf that it'd be a minute before he'd get his coffee as they would be making a new pot of it. They eventually forgot it though which I found that to be strange (as the store barely had anyone in it besides us.) When he walked up to them 5-10 minutes later when nobody seemed to be calling him name, that is what they told him so they said they'd give me (since I paid) a refund. I enjoyed my latte. His freshly brewed coffee was okay-ish (as I tasted it too.) We weren't really annoyed by it though. It still was a nice midafternoon "pick me up" we were able to enjoy it before we headed out to our dinner at a nearby restaurant. Somehow the relaxing atmosphere broke even for the not-so -fantastic coffee he got. Upon leaving, the male worker uttered his cheerful goodbye. Hence, service is/was more than decent. read more

Solid little corner coffeeshop! Came in on a sunny autumn weekend afternoon with my infant and got a seasonal beverage to go. Took a look around while waiting for my drink and liked what I saw. A good mix of seating arrangements and a nice vibe. Staff was friendly and while I didn't get any food, they had a decent pastry selection to pick from. As far as my drink went, the syrup (an apple cider mix) unfortunately sank to the bottom and took constant stirring to get any of the flavor to disperse, which was a shame. I probably would be wary of the flavor I choose in the future because of that. Still, would come back! read more

A great location just blocks from Cheesman Park! Novo Coffee offers a smaller menu & a food menu as well. I enjoyed my cold brew, but found it to be more on the bitter side. I also ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito & I very much enjoyed the mixture of black beans and green chili, of course! All-in-all, there's no frills about this location. This place is okay....first time going here. You will need to park around the neighborhood. It's definitely a community coffee spot. There's AC inside with plenty of seating outside and inside. The menu is very limited, including the pastries. I sat down right away to do some work since they were busy when I walked in (Sunday morning), and when I was ready to order again the line was out the door again! I had tried Novo Coffee previously because of my Trade Coffee subscription, so I was excited to visit their shop. The coffee was as great as I remembered it! And they had some fun seasonal lattes in the shop. If you go in the fall, I highly recommend their Harvest Spice latte. It's full of the warming spices and is more spice than sweet. The space itself is bright and airy, a great place to gather with friends, get a little work done, or just enjoy the day. Asked for a straw and "sorry we don't have straws." How do you not have tops that fit or straws when almost all your revenue is from drinks. This morning, I drove through the snowy streets, ready for work, and arrived at 6:35 am at the 6th Ave NOVO. The NOVO website for that location stated they opened at 6:30 am. The sign on the door stated they opened at 6:30 am. My knock on the locked door prompted a friendly worker to hold up seven fingers but not let me in. That was better than the indifferent corporate owners who were only holding up one finger. read more

Novo now seems like the grandaddy of 3rd wave coffee in Denver. But they are still on par with the new kids. The staff are good at what they do. They make great coffee and seem to genuinely enjoy feedback or talking with you about it. The alcoholic options are good--and convenient if you live nearby. But when I head here coffee is always my goal. They have a few good food options to go with your cortado. And when they have hot drinking chocolate, GET IT. read more

Coffee shop on 6th & Gilpin. There is parking on the streets adjacent to NOVO and possibly a small lot for the businesses it shares the block with. The latte I had was very pretty but it didn't taste as good as other shops. I had asked for extra foam but that didn't get conveyed to the barista making the drink. Both of the baristas were definitely having a case of the Mondays as neither was very friendly and didn't seem too excited to be at work. There are several tables as well as a shared high top table and counter spaces. They do offer some food options as well as alcohol and afternoon happy hour prices. I came because my friend likes their Chais (I should've chaied that!) I may try again but with so many other coffee shops in Denver to try it may be quite a while. read more

With a light dusting of snow on the ground here in Denver, it's officially hot chocolate season. People from Colorado and beyond rave about Novo and I drive by the 6th St location so often, it was prime time for a visit. As someone who's worked remotely for years, finding a coffee shop that's clean, not crowded, and willingly offering their free Wi-Fi password is extremely rare. It might be easier to locate that big ol' diamond from Titanic. The fact that baristas are friendly here and it smelled like warm apple cider? Oh my! I think I've died and gone to cafe heaven. Hot chocolate comes in two sizes. Given that my heart goes into hummingbird mode at even the slightest hint of caffeine, I always order the small. It was frothy and had enough chocolate, but not overly sweet. Just the way I like it. going back again for a warm drink, glass of wine or to enjoy the smells - it was a lovely experience at Novo. read more

This place is a good spot near Cheeseman to grab a coffee. From reading recent reviews, you'll notice that the staff isn't the most warming and welcoming of people, but they get the job done - and a good job at that! Delicious and smooth iced Americano's that I could have all day every day. I don't get much else other than that because it is a bit pricey. Would recommend as a place to get a quick coffee and do some computer work. read more
