I have stayed in Four Star hotels in other countries, and I wouldn't consider this hotel to be on an upscale, top-notch level. The exterior and interior felt dated and unimaginative. The reception desk was hard to locate. Upon entering through the main doors, you must turn right, then left to check in. The waiting area, near the entrance, had hard, uncomfortable chairs, and sofas. I appreciated the secure, underground, parking garage, but there was a moment of panic when the key card didn't work once, and we were promptly given a replacement at the reception desk. That being said, the beds in the hotel room were quite comfortable. However, the rest of the room reinforced the dated feel. The bathroom was functional, but basic, featuring only a standard bathtub/shower combination, not the separate upscale shower or high-end fixtures one often finds in a Four Diamond hotel. We ordered room service twice, and both times the service was friendly and quick. The menu had a lot of variety, and the amount of food was plentiful, really even being enough for two people. I tried the fish and chips and the risotto and they were both good. We didn't dine in the main restaurant, but we did try to explore the leisure amenities. This location does not have pool amenities but the basic functional uses you need, room, stairs, elevator, ice machine, pop machine (its limited and out of stock), parking..beds and room are comfortable. Shower could use better cleaning. During the pandemic, their hot breakfast serve was no longer available. Typical breakfast included eggs, boiled eggs, meat , fruits, waffles, baked goods hot coffee and juices. The breakfast generally covered dietary restrictions, like diabetic friendly, only whole wheat, gluten free. Now during the pandemic, all we got was a brown bag containing orange juice, a small gala apple, iogo yogurt, jimmy dean breakfast sandwich or Quaker oatmeal bowl and a spoon. The breakfast did not accomodate for gluten free, the premade breakfast sandwich was not customizable (like no processed cheese, no bacon), no whole wheat option, no hot coffee, no option for apple juice, no option for banana...oh yes and for hot coffee we are told to use our room coffee....so yes the hot coffee, hot water amenities that are always open are no longer available. If you're coming to visit, note the room prices are not adjusted for the lack of amenities, you are paying same as precovid. One thing to note, there is a 100$ credit promo when you book two nights. There are plexiglas barriers but no enforcement on non mask wearers!!!

To be honest that wasn't an issue for us. They kept themselves, there's always someone in the lobby so no unauthorized individuals can enter as elevator requires key. Staff was friendly from the moment we checked in, they held doors & greeted us each time. The room itself is modern, not much privacy though when it comes to shower, which is slightly tinted so when showering, anyone sitting in the room has full visuals. The bathroom floor is heated which was a nice touch. Found the bedding and pillows comfortable. The room is equipped with coffee pods & machine, creamer & milk in the fridge. Ample amount of towels and toiletries. The Ok: Though the room was cleaned, unfortunately our bathroom was not. We checked in very late so we were beyond exhausted only to come and find urine on the Toilet seat. I had to show her my ID twice. And then, I got: "Your ID says 'William,' and the reservation is for Bill." She didn't not seem to understand or accept that Bill is a nickname for William. In the over 20 years and over 200 stays I've had at Hilton's, this has never been an issue. I finally had to pull out my phone, pull up the app, and read the confirmation number to her. Instead of "Thank you," she ATTEMPTED to lecture me that I should change my profile name to William. Again, 200+ stays, 20+ years, same Honors profile. I would have gotten more welcoming treatment from Wednesday Addams. Every other person at the hotel with whom I interacted was friendly and all smiles. Interestingly, I did not see this young woman working at the desk for the rest of my stay. I haven't gotten an email with an opinion survey, but I did take the business card of the manager for some comments. My room and bed were comfortable, but not really noise-proof. I could hear most traffic on the road outside, and noise from neighboring rooms. Breakfast here is BUSY. That is perhaps because there are no other places to eat in the immediate vicinity. The breakfast area was not big enough to accommodate everyone, so every morning the diners spill out to the tables in the lobby. To their credit, the staff were constantly refilling supplies. They even had someone manning the waffle station, which definitely sped things up and undoubtedly reduced the amount of mess that might have been produced there otherwise. Parking is underground and complimentary, using your room key for access. The ramp down is steep. The intersection in front of the hotel is a popular site for panhandlers. When traffic stops, they approach every car unabashedly asking for money. This is not a hotel problem, just something for your awareness if you are traveling west from the hotel. The hotel does have conveniences. This includes the parking and breakfast. If you are willing to walk about 10 minutes, you can also access the Red Line easily.

The bathroom, the wallpapers in room and bathroom and carpet in the room are dated as well. The hotel is under construction though so maybe the next if we do come they will be better. We did not hear any construction noise. The breakfast we missed it by a few minutes but could get some fresh looking fruit, coffee (very weak).

I'm not sure if this hotel has been like this since it's inception a few years ago, but this hotel was quite grand when we walked in. It reminded me a lot of a nice business center hotel, but, quieter. It's located about 15 minutes outside of the Ottawa city center, so it's a very short drive from just about everything the city has to offer. The King bedroom that we stayed in was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was huge as was the shower inside. We, specifically our toddler, absolutely loved how much space there was to roam around in our room. Each floor had a large number of rooms and the hotel was basically split into 2 long sections. For those driving here, which we assume is most, the parking lot was also massive. It was partially shared with another hotel nearby, but there are A LOT of parking spaces here, so don't fret on finding a spot here. Also, if your kids are a fan of airplanes and airports, well, this hotel is located literally next to the Ottawa Airport so there are a lot of planes around. As for breakfast, you'll feel like you hit the jackpot of complimentary hotel breakfasts because there is a wide-ranging free hot breakfast daily. Just about everything you want in a free breakfast is offered here - scrambled eggs, egg omelets, bacon, sausage patties, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, cereal, packaged muffins, wrapped danishes, yogurt, juices and coffee. I'm probably missing something from that list, but they have it all! As you can imagine, the breakfast area is also spacious so there are plenty of spaced out tables to sit at. Apparently, there is also a pool and gym inside, but we didn't use either. THIS IS the hotel to stay in if you're in Ottawa. The check in was quick. The included breakfast is decent but was chaos during the rush hour and the staff really struggled to keep everything filled. No dairy free milk available for beverages, cereal or oatmeal. Asked the attendant and said they don't provide (!). There are two EV chargers and thankfully one was available when we arrived late at night. The charging is not just plug and charge. You have two tap your room card, press two buttons on the charger and it still does not tell you if you did the sequence correctly. You wait and you find out till your car complains that charging has not started. You do again and wait. Why so complicated? Any way once stated it worked and charge was completed.
