I love that they have a beautiful collection of traditional and contemporary patterns to suit your taste. be it gold, silver or diamonds - you can find them all. The staff and owners are friendly, reliable and upfront. Never have I felt pressured to buy or make a dash for the door. In the past I've spent 1-2hours just looking at patterns and deciding to come back later without having to feel bad about it. On one occasion they in fact suggested that I not buy some earrings for my little one, they pointed out how the earlier piercing was done incorrectly and getting a new one would infact make the situation worse in the long run. It is these small instances that adds to the trust factor. NP Jewelers also do custom orders. It does take time - around 6 weeks or slightly more. I've been told these pieces get made in Dubai and then come into the US through Customs, hence the timeline. Had a bracelet custom made recently and I couldn't have been happier with it overall. I hadn't been in the Little India area of Chicago in many years (probably since the last time I bought my last gold nose pin in 2007). That's a shame since there are a lot of great places to explore in that area. I went in on a Saturday night just as they were closing but was was still able to find what I needed as my current gold nose pin I was wearing needed to have a replacement immediately since it was falling out. (So sad! But it was like, 7 years old.) They had a nice array of real gold nose pins for a good range of prices. Mine was $55 and I saw some that were $65, possibly more. Some were colorful, some were plain gold, many were in the shape of sort of a small flower. I bought one with a black center and very small diamonds around it. The ladies there that night were really nice and helpful and I did my best to choose quickly so they could all go home. They could have easily turned me away and said they were closing but they were patient as I decided. My new gold nose pin is better than my old one! I've been here a few times for appraisals... I don't know the staff member's name unfortunately, but there is this one lady who is really helpful, personable and honest. She even spent time explaining how the pricing for the appraisals are done. She reminded me of those writing rubrics in school where you know exactly what to expect so nobody gets blindsighted. I feel comfortable and know I can trust their judgement on pricing. I was told that during the month of Ramadan, they do free appraisals for zakat purposes, too. A few months ago, I spent a weekend visiting every jeweler on Devon (my husband and I are new to Chicago), and really felt that NP was the best for several reasons. I was taken care of by a salesperson named Riddhi who did a fabulous job in helping me pick out jewelry for my wedding. She wasn't aggressive, very nice to talk to, charming , and honest.
