I've been going here for many many years. I enjoy talking to the owner. He's a very nice man. But I notice the last few years the prices are just very very high. The last year I brought my second wedding ring in to get fixed , a few days later, it broke. He decided that it could not be fixed so then we decided to make it into a charm. Then we had to put it on a sterling silver necklace, which was way too expensive. That was kind of a shit show ,the whole process. My other engagement ring needed to be fixed and when I showed it to him, he said it was fine but it's not. There is a crack in it. I think the biggest issue that really made me mad was there was a bracelet in the vintage section. It was pretty. Silver hearts held together by thin bands. I asked how much it was. He said 100 bucks. I,I Knew it was too much. But I have a spending issue when it comes to jewelry . He would not go down on price even though I've been a great customer for so many years. It was a little different so I decided to buy it. Two days later, it got hooked on something and broke. I was mortified. Three days later, I went into a resale shop, and I saw the exact same bracelet for five bucks. Did he scam me? Idk. I guess I think of all the money I spent in this place and it makes me angry. Okay so let's start by saying everyone needs a good jeweler. I have been searching for a good jeweler that I trust and like for upwards of 15 years in the city of Chicago. I recently needed some work done on my engagement ring and did a quick google search in Niles to see who I could try out. I called 4 area jewelers and asked for an over the phone estimate. Three of them said 2-3 weeks. Ehhhh no...Changing a stone in my prong setting will not take three weeks. Then I called Atlantis. A man answered and said very to the point, "I'm open for another hour, you come bring your ring to me and I can tell you." So I jumped in my car and that's what I did. I shamefully forgot the man's name, he is the owner and I was thinking of asking again before this review but that's okay. As far as jewelers go, some can be very cold or pretentious, but this man was warm and friendly and said very to the point "I am too busy to do this tomorrow but I will have it done Friday." Sold. 2 days go by, (not two weeks as the others estimated) and I go back to the store to fetch my ring. Let me just say OMG! I've been wearing this ring for 10 years and granted I got a new center stone, but this thing has never sparkled like this before. The actual work I had done was absolutely impeccable as well. I have a new jeweler. And he's exceptional to boot. So now after all these years of asking for recommendations and people asking me for recommendations, I actually have a very good one. I brought my necklace in for repair & he did a great job at a very modest price. He is the nicest man and so friendly. I also brought in a couple of pendants that he was able to make adjustments on, which made them just right, and didn't charge me. So while I was home for the holidays I bought the world's cutest watch wayyyyyy on sale. Carolina blue and all. I was so excited. It wasn't till I got home that I noticed it wasn't working. I was so sad. So now not only did I need to get links taken out but I needed a new battery (fingers crossed). So I of course get on Yelp and make plans to stop by a place on my way home from work. Well then I ended up with extra time in my day so I just typed "jewelry" in my gps and this place came up less than a mile from my 1 pm appointment. I dropped the watch off at 12:30 and he told me to come back at 2. When I walked back in at 2 my watch was working, the time was set and it was perfectly sized. I had insisted that I needed 3 links out and he only took out three but I love the way it fits, unlike my other watches it doesn't hurt my wrist after a while. The man working was very sweet and even complemented my adorable, albeit cheap watch. I would recommend this place!!! All in all it was $17. they only take credit cards over $25 so bring cash. read more

I have come here twice now. The first time to get a sapphire and diamond ring resized. When I dropped the ring off, I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't that big of a task so i wasn't concerned. But when I got it back it was in better condition then before. The resizing was beyond perfect and the ring looked better than new!! Mr. Malkowski must have done something to it because my diamonds and sapphires sparkled like never before. :-) Then the chain on my diamond necklace broke and it needed to be welded back together. This time I knew who to go to-- again.. Above and beyond my expectations my necklace came back better than new!! The chain is now stronger now than it ever was and my diamonds and super sparkly! He even recommended a chain alternative for down the road if this happens again. I took my wedding ring to Atlantis Jewelry to have it resized. I was very happy with the service and the price.

I had two watches that needed to be sized and one that needed a new battery. I found the store through yelp and saw that they did watch reoairs. I dropped in on a friday, the staff was great. They made the repairs while I waited in about 10minutes. They provided a warranty for a year on the battery and checked to make sure the watches fit before I left. Wonderful, welcoming staff. Good prices. I love small businesses and the individual service they provide. Definitely will be coming back for my watch and jewelry needs. read more

Mr. Ted Malkowski, the owner, is a wonderful guy to deal with! I went there in October for resizing a diamond ring for my mother as a gift on her 90th birthday and it was done superbly. I had the name of my mom engraved on the ring and my name on my Montblanc pen. The resizing was fairly priced but the engraving a bit expensive but, overall, the result was very satisfactory. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I came in to fix two necklace chains- they were fixed on the spot within minutes, and the owner didn't even want to charge me! As I was waiting for my necklaces to be fixed, I looked around the stored and noticed there are many interesting designs and beautiful jewelry.
