I wanted to share how grateful I am with being a part of soldier fit. I was looking for a place to…read morework out and really was serious about getting fit. This was the place for me. A few pros and cons below: Pros: - great workout instructors (Ericka is one of the best, she takes her time to show the workout and correct positioning to get the best results. Most of the instructors are good at this, but especially her!) - everyone there is serious about working out! So it's like you have a group supporting you along the way Cons: - at times music is too loud and sometimes inappropriate (this is my opinion but I've learned to work around it, at times I rather have no music at all and just hear instructors directing on what to do) - a few instructors are not the best/confusing - I can only recall one person who was like this; her class was super confusing and she didn't show how to do the workouts. I just tend to avoid this instructor as there are majority others who are great! - be careful with positioning and workouts, don't rush! Sometimes it can feel like a competition because everyone is doing them together. I just focus on what I'm doing and push to my limit; would suggest someone who is a beginner to do the same as to not cause any injuries. This is why I appreciate great instructors like Ericka! Overall I'm appreciative of soldierfit and their instructors. Happy to be a part of this gym!

I love this location!…read more 3 Floor of fitness options: cardio, strength training, stretching areas, several group classrooms, red light therapy room, massage chair rooms, outdoor turf area, and saunas (within gender locker rooms). This gym is nicely constructed and renovated (from a different gym), and offers 2.5hrs of validated garage parking. No pool, but there are so many fantastic amenities and new equipment available, you won't mind. You'll get a warmup in trekking those 3 levels via stairs, but an elevator is readily available for accommodating all accessibility levels. Also, being located in the convenient area of Pike & Rose, there are plenty options to run errands, or grab food. I Highly recommend!

My last 5-star review for OneLife at Pike & Rose was posted in 2020 shortly after Maryland Gov…read more Larry Hogan lifted the COVID remain-in-place restrictions. Ever since then I have remain a committed member of OneLife at Pike & Rose for a number of reasons: 1. Pike & Rose staff and trainers are awesome! Everyone is willing to help and answer your questions. If you frequent the gym consistently, say 2 or 3 times a week as do I, gym staff and workout buddies will become a positive influence in your life. This helps you want to return to the gym on a regular consistent basis. 2. The outdoor astroturf workout space as well as the natural light throughout the East and South-facing gym always supply good visual energy. I have yet to find a gym with the high quality of natural light Pike & Rose supplies to members. 3. Local manager Skyler and Fitness Director Carolyn listen to members questions and/or concerns. The over all quality of the gym, the efficiency of equipment, the way in which members approach and use the gym are all on Skyler and Carolyn's radar. They may not be able to remedy a situation at any given moment for a number of valid reasons yet they will make a note. And they are always looking for ways to improve our experience at OneLife. Things do change for the better; new equipment arrives and class schedules are adjusted to help members. 4. The personal trainers are awesome! Every single one of them is kind, polite, friendly and approachable. You can always ask them a question or two and if they can't help you, they will direct you to someone who can. Over the years I have worked out with a number of personal trainers and I can guarantee you this: you fitness achievements will increase so long as you stick to it. What ever you are facing as far a personal limitations and/or goals go, your personal trainer will work with you to help you achieve your fitness goals while remaining mindful of any physical constraints that may need extra attention. Over time, the returns on your investment working out with a personal trainer will manifest themselves in a positive way (body, mind & spirit). 5. Lastly, the cleanliness of the gym and locker rooms remains attended to throughout the day. Cleaning staff are great, I enjoy seeing them as well when I work out at Pike & Rose. Keep at it and pace yourself. Slow and steady wins the race!

If you're new to a sound bath, I'd suggest an intro membership when offered or see if you can sign up for a single 60 minute session during one of the weekly Monday sessions. When you arrive, you are greeted by welcoming staff or maybe even the owner, Susan. Anyone would help you to get comfortable and explain what to expect just let them know you're new. Yesterday's special session was a 90 minute session and I'd say the actual time with the instruments was about 80 minutes with a very helpful and nice introduction on what we were about to experience & how it affects the body, mind and spirit. Over 20 instruments were at the two ladies who played them throughout the session, and even are utilized while walking around the room. My favorite are the sochi chimes. Reminds me of being at the beach, bringing such a peaceful feeling & memories. If you've never been, plan to experience a peaceful and almost meditative experience. Basically plan to lay on a mat, I bring mine and utilize the provided blankets, pillows & yoga blocks to cushion my back & prop my knees up with the pillows/yoga blocks for lower back comfort. Dress however you feel most comfortable, sweatpants, yoga gear, however you want to lay on the floor to rest. You may get chilly when your BP reduces, grab an extra blanket from the shelf just in case. I didn't bring an eye mask this time, which I regret not having as I find it easiest to get to another place when all light is blocked. Some fall asleep as this truly is a remarkable way to relax. Some experience nothing and others can reach almost an out of body experience, all depends on how easily you allow yourself to give in to the experience. First timers, don't expect full immersion, but go with an open mind. Highly recommend for stress relief. Thrive Yoga studio is a very inviting space with a wonderful fountain in the hallway that you can hear in the background during your sessions. They have a water dispenser for your convenience, and after some special sessions, even light refreshments are served. As you enter the studio, which is located in a lower level space, you come into a small store with the counter to check in set away from the doorway. Several studios are in the back along with restrooms and cubby areas for your shoes as no shoes in the studio are preferred, and they have space for your belongings. Everyone there is very nice and helpful. They have several type of class offerings as well as buying different types of membership depending on your needs.
