The studio is located on the third…read morefloor of a converted house in historic Clarksburg, in the same building with a book store. The parking lot is small, but absolutely adequate for the businesses. In order to find the studio, you will walk in the back door, take two-half flights of stairs up, walk down a hallway and across the house to find the stairs to the third floor. Up one more flight of stairs and not only are you warmed up, but you've found the studio! All kidding aside, it's really not difficult to find, as there is plenty of signage. The studio itself has hardwood-looking laminate flooring and a big window on each wall. There are candles strategically placed around giving the studio a really cozy, relaxing vibe. They also provide mats, blocks, and straps, or you can bring your own. I purchased a 20-pack of classes and so far I've gone to two: Power Hour and Vinyasa Flow I/II. There isn't a ton of room upstairs, but in both classes, we were below max capacity. There were 4 of us in one class and 5 in the other. I really, really enjoy this about it. Both Ariana and Kathy were super friendly, chill, and willing to not just help you perfect your poses, but teach you the correct ways to push yourself and go deeper into postures. At the beginning of their respective classes, they both asked if anyone had injuries, so they could help with modifications, or if there were any special requests. It's almost like you're getting a private lesson. Holla! Clarksburg Yoga & Wellness uses MindBody (https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/home?studioid=255113) for scheduling, which works well. I suggest registering and signing up for classes before you go. This saves your spot in class and keeps track of classes you have attended and want to attend. I'm going to Pilates tonight and am looking forward to it!

The purpose is to let new students try out the classes to see what they like. I tried a few different classes and enjoyed them all! My favorite class was the Gentle Restorative Candlelight Yoga with Daniela Shore - she was one of the best yoga instructors I've ever had. Maureen is SUPER accommodating and helped me modify my membership because I was traveling out of town for the first week of it.

I've been to this studio for over a year and I've taken a lot of their classes on different days and with different teachers. I've been able to find a few classes that I enjoy that fit with my schedule. I started at this studio when I first began my yoga practice. The beginner class (really, beginner plus) with Rachel on Wednesdays is the class I started with and is a fav of mine across all studios I've frequented. I also really like the Sunday morning class with Gaby. I recently took the Advanced Yogi Playtime class taught by Rachel, and it is the class I look forward to most! It's on Tuesday nights.

My first Opus class was with Sharon, the owner, who is experienced, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, warm and lots of fun. Her emphasis on alignment and personal attention hooked me. At first, I was reluctant to take classes from anyone else because she was such a perfect fit, yet, after a while, I did try other teachers (some trained by Sharon) and found that there were many skilled teachers at Opus. With Sharon's expert leadership, she has hired and set the tone for a well rounded group of people teaching varied styles, types and levels of yoga practice. It's a small welcoming studio - well worth a thirty minute drive from my home.

(But also, support local businesses and try and buy classes too if you're able!) I took two classes this week - one with Kathy and one with Brenda. Both instructors were so welcoming and kind. Both classes were challenging (but accessible!). I enjoyed both classes a lot - Kathy's sculpt yoga class had me hobbling the next day, and Brenda's class had me challenging myself to try poses I hadn't before. She also had a message at the beginning and end of class about making sure to focus on you're "want to be" list (strong, brave, kind, loving, etc) versus your "to do" list. I love this. In both classes, it seems as though there's great community - a lot of the women seemed to know each other and were excited to take classes together. I hope that if I were in the area, I could be a part of this uplifting environment. The studio itself is clean, has great AC, and has lots of windows to look at trees while you're trying not to fall over in your own tree pose. They also have blocks, straps and I think some mats available. I look forward to coming here if I'm ever in the area again.

I am now so much more energized & limber after her class. She has a lovely, light filled, clean studio on the second floor. There is plenty of free parking. She has a friendly, helpful assistant & had yoga mats to borrow, & very cute yoga clothing for sale. Overall, an excellent studio to practice yoga. As a chiropractor, I've found that light resistance weight training three times a week for just 20' & yoga for 2-3 days/week are the most important ways to keep healthy, fit, & have lasting energy. Cheers! DocMikeChiro Update: At Brenda's recommendation, I took today's morning yoga class with Dana. It was the most incredible & challenging, intermediate level yoga class I have ever taken. I asked if she had her class on video so that I can share it with my patients and friends who are yoga instructors. Brenda's Uplift Yoga studio is truly an excellent place to practice & improve strength, balance, & focus.

I started with only once a week and noticed a difference from just that! It turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. The classes and instructors are amazing. They were able to guide and help me manage my pain, stress and sleep schedule. It's truly been a transformation both mentally and physically. I never regret spending an hour in a class here because I always feel better after. If you are looking for the western ideas of "yoga" and running through a bunch of poses, this is not the place. The classes focus more on meditation and linking the mind and body.

The "trial" session was a bit odd but I chalked it up to being based in Eastern medicine and told myself to keep an open mind. Something didn't sit right with me, and this was enforced by getting a bizarre email the next day from the manager, Anita, saying that she received word from corporate she was to report immediately to a different branch in Colorado on Monday morning.
