Made online appointment for an alignment and oil change days in advance. My son drove in from out of town got some new tires installed at a nearby competitor store due to availability and pricing. He then drove to Mavis tires and brakes at 1220 Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Kenner Louisiana to have his alignment and oil change done. He was then told that the alignment machine was not working. I called the store and asked for the manager and was told that I was speaking to him - Hermann. I told Herman that I wanted to point out an issue to him. I explained the issue and then asked if someone might have wanted to call ahead so that we didn't waste the drive to their store when their alignment machine wasn't working, especially coming in from out of town. I was then told that Herman didn't see a reservation. Upon further looking. Herman then found the reservation but he said that it was only for an oil change. I then told him that then there was another problem because on my end, it was booked for an alignment and an oil change. Instead of taking responsibility he tried to push it off on me, the customer, when I have confirmation in my phone. (See image of email confirmation.) He then said to let him call his Metairie store to see if they can do it, and I advised him to not worry about it as there is a Firestone right down the street. I called his name out a few times to see if he heard me, but he did not respond and then he hung up. That's no way to win a customer, especially after messing up in the first place. NEVER GO HERE IN KENNER!! THEY ARE TERRIBLE. MANAGER IS A SHYSTER. I used to go when it was NTB and brought all 5 cars that I own and they were great!! Since they switched to Mavis and hired a whole new team, it is the most horrid place ever!!! Brought my car in for four new tires and they broke the lug bolt on my Optima and then called and told me I had to pay for a whole new wheel hub to be put on. They torqued my lug nuts on my jeep to 200 ft. pounds instead of the 95 that it calls for and they did not rotate my spare tire in when I got my tires rotated. Everyone knows that you always rotate the spare tire in on a jeep. Anyway I had to break all of my lug nuts off of my jeep wheels. It took me 9 hours. Thank goodness I did not end up with a flat tire on the side of the road. I would never have been able to change my tire with the lug nuts on there at 200 ft. pounds!! Scheduled an appointment 48 hours in advance per suggestion of the salesperson because I wanted the work performed as fast as possible to get my work truck back to work. He assured me I would be first up at 8am open. I showed up at exactly 8am. I was not first. They never even called me to let me know the work is done. Total of 6 hours for new tires. Salesperson explains that they are "like doctors, appointment times don't matter in this business." Maybe this would make sense if there was a diagnosis needed. I just needed 4 new tires. I am absolutely positively pleased with my visit here!! When you come, ask for Ms. Lisa. She's awesome. I came in for a routine oil change and found out I needed new tires. YIKES!!!! We all know how pricey that can be! My bank account was not ready for this unexpected repair. But Ms. Lisa was there to help me out. She pulled me into her little office and hooooooked me up. I will not put exact prices up but just know I left out super happy with not only a fresh oil change...but 4 new tires! I will come here every three months for my scheduled oil changes plus any other work I need done....and I recommend you do the same!! UPDATE: Ms. Lisa is out with some health issues . But Ms. Tonya is just as awesome. She will work with you and help you through all your automotive needs!!! read more

Ernest C. Menard 1516 Evergreen St. Laplace, La. This is going to be a book, ha ha. I've purchased tires from NTB for some years, both in Kenner and Laplace. The first set of tires I believe was purchased in Kenner and was a set of Pirelli Scorpion 245 75R 16 E. Some time after the purchase of the Pirelli's, my truck, a 1998 Chevrolet C3500 SRW, developed an alignment issue. I ended up changing out the upper and lower control arms, all fresh. I took my truck over to the NTB on Hwy 51 in Laplace for an alignment. I had the truck roughly set up. I was in there about four hours and my truck rolled out with a worse alignment than when I rolled in. This is what happened between the time I rolled into NTB on US 51 in Laplace and the time I rolled out. After a long while my truck was put on the alignment rack. After another long while the manager approached me and told me the mechanic said my truck was of a type not designed to be alignable, in so many words. I had to go to the service bay and locate the upper control arms cams for the mechanic. Everything's fine, right? After another long while the manager approaches me again and implies my truck isn't alignable because the frame has had welding done on it. (Yeah, when it was built.) He leads me out to the service bay again and points out a nice clean factory weld. I'd pressure washed everything. I was speechless. I was dealing with the most ignorant-of-their-trade people that I had ever met in my entire life. I rolled out of there that day figuring I'd have to learn to do this my self. Here I am today, several years later...` Yesterday afternoon, April 15th, 2022, I had a 3 o'clock appointment to install four new tires at the NTB in Kenner. I had been in Kenner, working, and finished up what I had to. I stopped into NTB about 1 o'clock and checked to see whether someone had canceled or they could otherwise get me in. They couldn't and I had no problem with that. I arrived back at NTB at about 2:50 p.m. I walked inside and spoke to a customer service representative, hereinafter number 1, and informed him that I had a 3 o'clock appointment to have four new tires installed. He seemed a bit confused so I pointed out the board behind him where my name was lit. Now we're moving along, all pleasant thus far. He told me he could get me out of there by 6 o'clock, closing time. I responded, with a minimal amount of heat, that I'd have a seat and wait until 4 o'clock. I took my keys and went and had a seat. To be fair, the place was very busy. Within a minute or two a person I presumed to be a manager, hereinafter number 2, engages number 1. They seem to be discussing getting my truck in there by 4' o'clock. I had demonstrated my willingness to uncomplainingly wait an additional hour. While they were speaking I clearly directed a question at them. They didn't answer immediately, but I did expect that a question had been asked to register with either of them. Their conversation ended. I spoke the question again, but a bit louder. The question was would it be more convenient were I to come in tomorrow morning (today, Saturday.) Number 1 just turned and walked out, as I recall to get information from my truck, and I had asked the question again at his departing back. Number 2 jerked his thumb over his right shoulder at the departing associate's back. At this point I began to be getting perturbed. Number 1 re-entered the service desk area. He, I, and number 2 had a brief discussion about me coming in first thing in the morning. It turns out that people have appointments for Saturday morning. My ire is getting up now. National Tire and Battery was willing to have me wait until perhaps 5:30 p.m., pushing me back 2-1/2 hours, but was unwilling to commit to pushing a morning appointment back 30 minutes. The conversation moved on. Nothing was going as it should, so I wanted to know what the total was going to be. I asked this and number 1 responded that he'd need my keys to check my mileage. I asked again and got the same response. I responded that the truck has 225K, and again asked how much is it going to cost? I received the same answer again, he'd need my keys to check my mileage. The last thing I said was "You don't even need my name..." The last thing number 1 said before I walked out the door was: "Have a good day sir." That earned the one and only star. read more

Went here last December to get an oil change and buy a tire. Set up my appointment online and arrived on time. They took my car back and everything seemed to be going okay. They had a tire on sale/clearance for under $50 for my SUV! They were also heavily pushing me to sign up for their credit card, received a small rebate for just filling out the application so I did. The people were friendly and there was free K-cup coffee. Then things went bad. While they have my car up on the rack they call me back and show me how the wheels are loose and tell me I need over $600 work on the front end steering. I tell them I can't afford it right now and get the written estimate to check elsewhere. As I am paying my bill I am told that my application for the credit card was declined. I tell them I am fine with that as I didn't really want it. I pay my bill and leave. About a week later I get a letter explaining that I was declined for the card because I am not of legal age! I am 53, what the Hell do they think is legal age? Just out of curiosity I call to ask what is going on and am told that according to the information input from my application my birth year is 2064! So apparently they think I have not been born yet. As funny as it is I am concerned by the lack of detail checking and that NOBODY noticed this and thought it was unusual I am apparently a time traveler from the future. THE WORST: I took my car to my usual mechanic some time after visiting these guys. I don't show them the $600 estimate and just told them it has a vicious pull to the right, which it did. When they told me it was loose bolts and would only cost me $65 to tighten them, I was blown away by both my usual guys honesty and NTBs either dishonesty or incompetence. I went to NTB-National Tire & Battery(Kenner) Saturday August 26th to get two new tires and they destroyed my rims. They're refusing to fix them. They're saying they were damaged already which is a blatant lie! I've aways used NTB by my house but they didn't have these in stock so I made an appointment at the one in Kenner because they were the only ones that had the tires I wanted. Wouldn't recommend if you want the job done correctly to expected standards. Very unprofessional. Untrained techs. One rim looks like a bar crushed my rim instead of being placed on the tire where it should have gone. Now my tire feels like its bouncing/vibrating when moving. I'm a single mother and don't feel safe driving this vehicle since they damaged my rims. Extremely disappointed with this company. These don't seem like the same rims I went there with, it's almost like they swapped them out and put these on my vehicle. Beyond disgusted! read more

My family and I have been buying tires from sears for about 10 years. Let me say this... The service that we had experienced from sears lead me to believe that I would never have an enjoyable time getting maintenance done to my tires. We decided to switch, not because the tires were bad, but because it was like going to hell or a funeral when it was time to get a rotate and balance. NTB in Kenner, LA has the service aspect figured out! They were transparent in how long the service was going to take and were some really great people. In the tire business, how you treat people on a daily basis will determine your profit in years to come. I'm 23 years old and I am going to do business with these people at NTB in Kenner for many years to come! PS: The mechanic was a beast (non stop working) in the LA heat and really personable. Customer service at the desk is not very good. Person was very rude to me. I had a service recovery free oil change from another NTB. That location was very busy when I went to use it on Wednesday. A worker there it should be honored at any other NTB. Since I live in another city, I went to this location and was told by the counter person that it would be honored. I just had to make an appointment which I did for today. I went in today and another lady was working the counter and said no way we are honoring that. When I tried to tell her that it was already approved by the counter on Wednesday she said she didn't care. The assistant manager had it wrong. I then informed her that I would be calling corporate on her and she said she didn't care. All in all, I called corporate on her for the rude behavior and not honoring the oil change even though it had been approved and they weren't happy. In addition she seemed pretty out of it when it came to knowing where another persons preordered supplies were. She told them that they had given away their tires to someone else then five minutes later remembered she had put them on a work order. read more

Tuesday 11/19/19 NTB was recommended to me by my nephew as I was totally unfamiliar with them. I had my tires replaced and wheels balanced. There was a very polite young man at the service desk I believe his name was Josh. There were three people, including myself, that all walked in at the same time. He did an excellent job of accommodating everyone in a timely manner without getting "rattled", rude, or frustrated. I decided to write this review as my 2014 Escalade has never ridden to my expectations until today. The steering wheel would shake anytime I got over 75 mph and each time I returned to the dealership they said the same thing, "We had to balance the tires," which obviously they never did as after NTB installed and balanced my tires the ride is what I had expected when I purchased the SUV. I had resolved myself to simply purchasing a new SUV because I was so displeased with the ride. Not anymore, I couldn't be happier with the work NTB has done. I called and spoke to a young lady, Julie I believe, on Saturday to express my gratitude and let her know that I have three personal vehicles and two moving trucks. NTB will be getting all of my business from this day forward, thanks guys, great job!! read more

I blew a tire on my way out of town on a 10 hour drive. Luckily, Josh and the team were VERY helpful in getting me the replacement tires I needed the fastest they possibly could. They were so helpful that I came back the following week for my alignment and got an oil change! Great prices, very friendly, knowledgable and helpful staff. Absolutely disgusted with these people. They are poor excuses for human beings. They are only money hungry and have no skill at all! Our air conditioner broke in our perfectly working versa and they charged us $1500 to order the NEW compressor from Nissan and install it. We agreed to do it because we were in the final days towards our wedding and our son has severe eczema and needs the air conditioner. We spent this $1500 on their crap service and gave up a number of important details to our wedding. They gave us our car back and the air conditioner started blowing hot air again that day! When we brought it back they attempted to claim we must have a new issue that developed within the very short period of time we had the car back and it couldn't possibly have anything to do with them because their air conditioner guy has worked there for 40 years and somehow that means he couldn't possibly be a crook. We almost had to make a scene for them to care at all. Apparently, they said it was the fan and "fixed" it for free. When we got the car back this time it started making a loud rattling noise a day or so later. The mechanic told my husband (fiance at the time) that there may be another problem brewing but he won't have to worry about it for a while. Statement of a guilty conscience I guess! We were so busy with my full time job, a baby, family visiting for the wedding, and the wedding itself we could not afford the time or money to go back immediately. We can't afford to constantly rent cars! So recently the car started making the loudest squealing noise I have ever heard. We made it home safely that night with our little baby thank God. The next time my husband turned on the car we heard a loud pop and now the car is blowing hot air again. We are now towing it back and filing a lawsuit for all the damage and stress they have put on our family. They are already trying not to take responsibility for this! I will come out on top of this even if I have to close this business down! My poor son cannot be in the heat because of his eczema. They have angered the wrong parents! Do not go to these people. We are attempted calling the district manager who is of course not answering! That's okay though. My lawyer answers the phone. I will be making a YouTube video on this to share as well. I recently visited NTB for a tire rotation and oil change on my jeep after a 3,000 mile cross country move. Not only did NTB follow and keep my appointment time (I went to firestone previously and making an appointments was senseless, as it took over 6 hours for the same procedures), they had an awesome (very clean, and cool) waiting area, and they were done very quickly. Also, after the initial review of my vehicle they took their time to explain in detail the condition of my vehicle and what needed to be fixed at a level I could understand (vehicles are not my strong suit). I thought the prices were awesome and did not feel like I was pressured, intimidated, or taken advantage of as someone new to the area and a female. Thank you for the great work! read more

This has been my go-to place any time I needed an oil change or other service, or if I've been considering a service, NTB always is my first consideration. Thus far, I've had positive experiences. However, this time, different story. Mr. Allen Wolff can kiss any future business of mine that may have percolated its way down to this location (and frankly all of NTB) a sweet goodbye. I sent my wife in with her vehicle for a tire patch and oil change. Tire tread was too low, can't do it. No big deal. Wife asked for the basic oil change. I receive a call with a quote of ~$1,100 for four new tires, which included premium everything, and services that apparently could not be removed. In addition, he snuck in the premium oil change. No big deal, got that taken care of and changed to the conventional oil change - like originally requested. Through the duration of this call, Mr. Alan became obviously irritated and verbally combative at the audacity of my questioning and understanding of why certain services were required. Again, no big deal. I've dealt with people like this before, and it's as simple as saying no. So, I can handle attempting to exploit my wife's ignorance of what's mechanically necessary, trying to sell me services/enhancements I don't need, pushing a credit card with 12% interest rate on me and my wife, continuing to push the services & credit card that I specifically indicated I didn't want to my wife after our phone call ended, and having a piss-poor attitude throughout the whole experience, but what I cannot and will not let slide is what was said to my wife as she was given her keys to leave. Which was along the lines of: "Do you have kids? (Yes) Is this your car or his car? (Hers.) Oh. Well your husband needs to take better care of the car because he's going to leave you and your child stranded on the side of the road one day." It took every professional bone in my body not to call Mr. Allen and tell him that he can take his advice and shove it up his ass. Is that your strategy to get business? Attack people personally and conclude that because they don't follow your advice that they are negligent spouses/parents? You crossed a line. Never make it personal. So ultimately, today, my wife is getting 4 new tires, among other services, but at Goodyear where I am gladly paying a premium and will continue to do so after this incident. Speak to Author at the 1301 location. He delivered a fantastic customer service experience, and took four different calls from me to answer and explain in detail all of my questions. Great employee you have over there, NTB. As long as you have people like that representing your brand, count me out. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! Hazardous and unsafe location!!! I was nearly killed by their negligence and now they are lying about it and disputing the charges. I landed at the New Orleans airport and needed two tires. I went to their location and they attached the tires....... But DID NOT tighten the lug nuts!!!! I drove 200 feet into the highway traffic and the tire fell off!!!! Half my life were never found including my locking lugs!!! They had to send a wreck of a car full of idiots to limp my car back to their shop because the bolts were all bent from the damage!!! I demanded a refund and payment for the damage. The redneck female owner, Lisa, was too embarrassed to even look at me and said she could only give me oil change coupons!!! I immediately disputed the charges with Capitol One. Lisa hand wrote on the official form from the Credit Card company that nothing had happened and they knew nothing. She is a dirty filthy liar. Not only were the tires ruined but I had to pay for new bolts. She thinks she can get away with this because I live out of state. Well we shall she. I return to New Orleans often. Stay away from this place. I was seriously almost killed. They know it and I will win with the credit card company. Please please please take your business elsewhere.
