I brougth my car to get my front end looked at on Chef Hwy, I knew about the rack opinion it is on back order at the dealer but I wanted to see what else is going on with the front end because the car is get older I try to do preventive maintenance but the mechanic didn't want to drive the car because of no power steering he said the car is still drivable even if he was scared to drive he still could have put the car on the rack to push & pull with a pry bar to see how things move maybe the mechanic don't know about that way to diagnose a front end so I stop over by NTB and they drove the car and put it on the rack and showed me the issue it was a bad bushings. I have never been to GoodYear and will never deal with them again. I received a response from GoodYear customer service about this review they wanted me to call them, so I did, and I spoke with a female who don't know anything about cars/mechanics she called the store and they told her the same thing about not having power steering that wasn't what the car was there for, cars was driven without power steering since the beginning but Diagnosing other parts on the front end. You don't need power steering a pry bar maybe. You don't even have to drive the car to diagnose other front end issues and these are the people that are working on other people cars. I feel sorry for those who don't know nothing about their car or nothing about a car. The differences with me. I am a mechanic, so you can tell me anything and if that's was the truth then all mechanics would say the same thing the other shop test drove the car and found the issue I already know what it was i just wanted a second opinion so how is that GoodYear mechanics couldn't do something simple once again put it on the rack and use a pry bar, they stinks y'all better watch your vehicles when going there Integrity they don't have trust they lost it from me. read more

Every time I've been to this location, it is a bad experience. The last time I went and the last time I will have gone was to get a rim for my car. I was told that it also needed a wheel alignment so I followed up with Gentilly Goodyear. They told me that the alignment was fine but the balancing was not done properly (it would be 20 for a balance but the ones that put it on should do it free). I went back to Banner to check my options. It was 70 dollars plus tax to get my four wheels balanced or they could hold it over the weekend and get it back Monday and maybe have something done to it (price on option two unknown). Matt was ready to let me know how much he hated his job and how much he hated being there on the weekend. I'm sure he wanted the commission from my 70 dollar sale. I took it back to Goodyear, told them the crap from Banner, and that I would take the balance they told me about. Goodyear did it free. It may have been easy for them, but Goodyear got my future service and good word of mouth. Banner won a 1 star review and not having to deal with me again. Not the cheapest of options to fulfill your various car servicing needs, but they were great at responding to my needs in a moment of aggregation, and I can, therefore, suggest them over many other locations that might try to sell you rotten eggs. read more

Had to come here for an out-of-town emergency tire repair. Ended up being too close to the sidewall and needed replaced. Charles was great. Great customer service. I used to pass this place in Gentilly assuming it was only a tire shop. However, This shop always gets me in/out without trouble. The techs are readily available to address concerns whether it's a diagnosis or prioritizing multiple problems. The prices are always cheaper than the dealerships I would use AND more reliable. I never have to return because an issue was obviously not resolved. They don't try to sell, sell, sell but instead "we recommend in the future...". I tried PepBoys but they failed to detect obvious issues that eventually got worse. These guys nip it in the bud! I also notice if you've already done your research they'll double check your conclusions and so far have agreed with my armchair diagnosis. (My last visit they did recommend an additional worn wire replaced). The services of Preventive Maintenance include checking your transmission to the smaller scheduled oil change. I am really picky and never recommend mechanics but this location deserves much praise! read more

Beware!!!!! I have a regular mechanic that is my go to, he never steers me wrong. My car was pulling to the right after I hit a curb. I brought it to my mechanic he took the tire off and told me I didn't damage anything extensive that I just knocked it out of alignment. He suggested I take it to get aligned. After calling around Goodyear was the only location that could get me in ASAP. I go to Goodyear the employee asked me what I needed done. I told him a wheel alignment. He asked why I felt I needed one I told him that it was pulling to the right. He then asked did I hit something I told him I hit a curb. He responds by telling me it's probably not an alignment probably my tire Rod. I told him that I had my mechanic confirm it wasn't the tire Rod the day before. He responded by saying they won't do an alignment if there's more damage. So the tech takes it to the back not even 10 mins later he comes back and tells me I need a tire Rod. Hands me a estimate for almost $300. So I declined and told them there was no way I needed a tire Rod. They brought my vehicle around and immediately once I drive off my truck was driving COMPLETELY different, traction light on and brake light. I took it back to my mechanic. Told him what happened he was so upset. He took my tire off only to find that Goodyear mechanic loosened my tire Rod causing my truck to wobble. Nonetheless he tightened it correctly and told me exactly where to go for my alignment. I took it to the alignment shop got a alignment and THAT WAS ALL THAT I NEEDED. My tire Rod was never damaged but had I only went off of their word I would've been out of $300 for a "tire Rod" that wasn't even broken. Go somewhere else you'll save yourself the troubles. read more

I've taken my car here several times, and every time I've had a good experience. The mechanics are friendly, and they don't get jerky when they try to upsell. I've also had good experiences in their working with my budget as much as they could. I've also liked the fact that they've had really turnaround time on my repairs. Finally, it's very cool that Goodyear makes free wi-fi available to customers. :-) Great service for a deserving area. read more

Horrible experience. I had a printout of the scan I had gotten at autozone which clearly stated what was wrong with my vehicle. I came in for an estimate. The arrogant guy who waited on me seemed confused about the scan results, telling me that he couldn't understand it and in order to know what was wrong, he had to scan it again with them and charge me 55 dollars just for that. Had some bad luck yesterday on the interstate with a tire pop and was able to get my spare on but drove to this Goodyear this morning and told them about my nail pop being on the tread and a half an hour later, I was back on the road with my tire fixed and no charge! It was nice for being so far out of town and expecting some kind of fee for their service but it was free! Technician said no worries in driving back home. I've been going to Goodyear for a while to have my car serviced, but had never been to this location. I had about 45 minutes in between appointments and decided I would stop in to see if I could get an oil change. When I walked in Charles greeted me letting me know that the oil change normally took an hour, but he would try his best to get me out in 45 minutes. He kept me updated on the progress of my vehicle which I appreciated. Andre, I believe was his name, did a great job on my car even reset the air pressure light which had been on forever. I'm from out of state and was drving on 10 when my low tire pressure indicator came on. Nearby service stations either didn't have working air compressors or didn't have a gauge attached. Couldn't see that any tire was visibly low but figured I needed to do something. Goodyear was nearby so I pulled in and asked if they could check. They did so, didnt find a problem but checked all the pressures and got them all on the same page. I was happy to pay any charge (it was raining and cold btw) but they did it all complimentary. I came in looking to buy a tire. Charles came out looked at my car and asked to see the flat tire. My car was on a dummy and I had just figured go ahead buy a new tire. Charles looked at my flat tire and informed me that they could repair my flat tire, no need to get a new tire and it was free of charge! Have been to this location to get new tires, was in and out in good time, so a good experience, went last wednesday to get compressor belt changed, actually changed two belts, with no notification of second belt needing change, figured no problem. then friday, noticed my crankcase vent hose missing, called sunday, told me to bring in this morning, nothing they could do, no part available. I know they took the vent hose off to move air filter, to get to belts, so very disappointed with this situation. read more

Every person who works at this store will go out of their way to help you and give you the best work for the price. You might think all Goodyear's are the same, but no! Went in because the tire light came on after filling the tire with air 2 times within 5 days. First called Costco to make an appointment and was told they didn't have any availability for the week. Walked in around 9:30am on a Saturday without an appointment because I happen to be in the area and was out by around noon. Smallish waiting area with coffee, tv, magazines, and bathroom...nothing fancy but enough to make wait bearable. Got my car back and was told they had to fix one of the rear tires and it was free of charge. Costco would have cost around $15. Appreciate the friendly service. read more

Went there with a nail in my tire and was told that because it was in the sidewall they could not fix it. Nail was not in the sidewall but in the tread towards the outside. Of course their solution is to purchase a new tire. After some back and forth about the location of the nail with the sales person, out of frustration, I stupidly bought a new tire. Fast forward about a month or so and I get a nail in the tire I paid $150 for. Take the tire back because I also purchased the road hazard. Sales person proceeds to tell me that the nail is guess where, the side wall and I must purchase a new tire. When I showed him again that it was not in the sidewall, he then said it was too close to the sidewall and they don't honor the roadside hazard for that. His suggestion of course was another new tire. Will never go back again. read more

On the back of a Winn Dixie receipt, I noticed an advertisement for a $19.99 oil change at Goodyear. This sounded like a deal and I'd only recently gotten a car and had yet to find a good place, so I gave them a shot. I dropped my car off and left with my partner for lunch. About mid-meal, I receive a voicemail from the shop saying that I have a "massive" oil leak and that I can't receive a change without repairs. While this caused me a great deal of angst, I was also rather skeptical because I had checked my oil that morning and it was full. It was on the way, so we dropped by the house and confirmed there was no sign of a recent oil leak in my parking spot. When we returned to Goodyear, my car was parked out front. Before going inside, I promptly checked the oil myself and it was still full. I then leaned under the car and saw no signs of a "massive" leak. So, I entered and asked for my keys back. Only when they inquired, did I inform them that there was no signs of a leak and that I'd be going elsewhere. As I was leaving, the attendant was attempting to tell me something about how it could be full but still leaking "under there." Okay. The next shop I took it to found no leak and didn't mess around with me at all. Refreshing. read more

If I could give more stars I would. I've been taking my car to Goodyear for quite some time and mr. Harold and his staff are always pleasant and always makes sure I am taken care of. I often get paranoid about my car breaking down so I'd bring it to them and they'll tell if I need to make adjustments or not. Most times it's nothing, but they've never insisted that I needed any work that was not necessary and have always been very professional! They would even tell me how long I have till certain repairs are needed so that I can afford it. I wouldn't go anywhere else before I have this Goodyear location check me out first because they're honest, trustworthy and reliable! read more
