I have been going to Nu Nails since last summer. I began going there for pedicures as my cousin recommended it. I am very particular about pedicures and both Tim and Lom do an excellent job. Recently, I had a special occasion and decided to try SNS nails. Tracy did chrome nails and I received so many compliments - loved them. They lasted about three weeks. I recently went back in for a pedicure and regular SNS nails. Lom did my pedicure and Tracy again did my nails. I arrived for my 3pm appointment and was out by 4:45. I was disgusted by the lack of good customer service I received today from the lady manning the front desk. I know the owner of this establishment and she's done my nails before. She is a very poised and Elegant woman. The lady that she had working at the desk today was completely unprofessional and rude. She was rude to me and friend, who came to get pedicures today. She was on her cell phone the whole time, didn't smile at all or greet anyone. She reprimanded me for not knowing that there was more to my pedicure after the massage. Even when we first entered the salon, she was rude to us because we sat down in the front chairs to wait instead of going to the recliners meant for pedicures. Am I supposed to be psychic and know which chairs to sit in the second I walk in? I called for directions and asked her which side of the grocery store I could find nu nails on, and she said, "we aren't by a grocery store." HELLO? Do you not see the bashas outside your window? I heard this lady say in passing that she will only be working this summer. Which means I can't come back until after summer is over, in fear of running into this brat again. I'm conflicted on how to rate this place because your experience just depends on your technician. The first person that went to do my nails was a guy who literally walked and acted like he was fresh out of Compton (not exaggerating) with his pants down to his knees. He didn't act or dress professionally at all and he seemed like he was trying to milk money out of my friend and I. He went to put a fake tip on one of my broken nails without asking and I told him no, I want it to grow out. THEN he tries to put acrylic powder on my nails!! I specifically said I wanted a gel polish change. Soloman finished my nails and did my pedicure. She seemed to keep him in check and she was super sweet and accommodating. DO NOT GET YOUR NAILS DONE HERE. I used to come here all the time for a specific nail tech until she left and then a woman who had never done my nails before screwed me. I came in asking for SNS and for whatever reason she very aggressively talked me into getting Gelx. I had no idea what it was at the time but after doing research SHE DID IT INCORRECTLY. Gelx is done with a SOFT GEL BECAUSE IT CAN BE SOAKED OFF WITH ACETONE. A fake nail is then placed over the entire real nail as well as a layer of soft gel. BUT THE WOMAN WHO DID THIS USED HARD GEL FOR ME, WHICH CANNOT BE SOAKED OFF WITH ACETONE. ITS REMOVED BY BUFFING IT OFF, EXCEPT SHE PUT THE FAKE NAIL OVER IT SO IT COULDN'T BE BUFFED. So essentially this woman used hard gel to SUPER GLUE this fake nail to my real nail bed. IT TOOK ANOTHER NAIL SALON OVER AN HOUR TO REMOVE IT BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT SOAK OFF. They did a combination of filing, cutting, and prying this fake nail connected by hard gel off. My nails are so damaged, I am seriously so mad. But even in their natural thin and brittle state, they still look better than the AWFUL Gelx application that was done on me here. This mistake was DANGEROUS. Do not be fooled by their high reviews they recently lost all of the staff that was driving this place. Leaving pictures of the terrible Gelx as well as my ruined nails after removal. read more

Amazing nail salon! Yesterday, Tracy did my nails and they were absolutely perfect. I came here because it had such good Yelp reviews. The place is clean, they have wonderful customer service. They really make you feel like they care. I hate going to a nail salon, and being ignored for half of my service. But that was certainly not the case here. I would say prices are about average for what most nail salons offer. But the quality of work is definitely worth it. I definitely will be back, is so close to my work. It's kind of hidden in the parking lot behind Walgreens. The only complaint I would have is that there were no clear prices anywhere. I started coming here 6 months ago and see Tracey for SNS nails and pedicures. She is absolutely fabulous and got me off of acrylics and started on SNS. So natural and so much healthier. Last up to 3 weeks! I mainly use Tracey, but have used Shalea and VVI all wonderful at what they do. Upbeat atmosphere and always smiling. They all speak fluent English. A must try! You won't b disappointed ! Update to my original 5 star review. Tracey who is great at the application of SNS is on maternity leave And her schedule is not reliable now with a new baby. Her top girl Solomon has now left. Her sister V does not have a consistent schedule. There sometimes then gone for a week or 2. She listmost other staff and now has approximately 6 new employees who do not speak English and are even answering phones and cannot understand your request. Therefore I can no longer give them a 5 star review. Things have gone down hill. Your experience will greatly depend on luck and what technician you receive but for SNS not so much now unless you get Tracey. read more

I know now why this place has so many good reviews, once I got in I was greeted nicely by the owner?manager? She was working on the first station and asked me to take a sit and wait to be called, I started to dislike the fact that there's just 4 chairs in the waiting area and the space is not enough, so please don't bring friends or family to your appointment. Then it took like 15 minutes to be called and another 5 minutes to figure out who was going to work on my nails, I got sit on the last station, and I got frustrated because that's the storage area and everyone goes there if the need the curing lamp or the nail polishes or towels...and then I started to calculate this place was loosing a 1 Star from my review... I had another appointment 2 hours later so I was concerned to be on time... However when Tim came to the station and started to work on my hands it was marvelous! He is a little bit shy and not so talkative, I think because his English is limited but actually it was perfect for me because I was tired and honestly not in the mood to talk... Another thing that makes me give the 5 stars all the way! Is because Tim was always focused and respectful. He offered a bottle of cold water and when he started to work he was careful and his movements had precision, he was not in a rush and gave me my time to get the perfection...that's what I loved!!! I'm perfectionist myself and I have never found a person who was happy if I mentioned something to fix or do different while working without making a face... Tim was taking care of the details, step by step and showing me and asking me if I was happy... It was a dream! Also I had visited other places where the rush so much the time on the lamp that the polish becomes sticky once I get home because it was not properly dried... This was not the case he took his time and applied thin coats and used the lamp on between. Definitely coming back! Do yourself a favor and ask for him (Tim) I promise, you will not regret it. After going to multiple nail salons over the past few years for gel nails, I've finally landed The ONE with Kim at Nu Nails. I'm incredibly picky and think gel nails should have a thinner, near-natural appearance and not resemble acrylics. I'd either go to places where the gel was done thinly, but then peeled or it was done too think with odd plumper areas towards the tips that drove me crazy. Kim at Nu Nails takes much more time to prep each nail well *before* application and she knows how to perfectly sculpt oval and almond shapes with consistency, which is so hard to find. She does a VERY natural gel French, keeping the white tip lines thin and arched, which makes all the difference. Just to give you an idea of her design skillset, this pic is a fun version of a reverse French manicure we came up with. When I leave each time, my hands want to be better hands for my nails haha. I have gone to Nu Nails 3 times now, and my nails have turned out fantastic all times. I think they specialize in SNS (dip powder nails), so that is what I would recommend getting done, if you're getting a mani. I haven't had any issues with chipping or cracking, and have gone as long as 3 and a half weeks before getting them re-done. The salon isn't fancy, and it can get a little crowded, but they do a wonderful job on your nails. I highly recommend going to Tim (Tom?), or the other gentleman with the bird tattoo on his arm (sorry don't know his name!). They both are perfectionists, take their time, and are super sweet!
