If that was truly his professional assessment, it should have been communicated much earlier--not after weeks of lessons and hundreds of dollars spent. Instead of helping build confidence, my daughter felt increasingly nervous and discouraged. There were several interactions that left her feeling criticized rather than coached. A driving instructor's role is to teach, guide, and prepare students for success, especially when they are already anxious about an upcoming test. I cannot recommend Daniel based on our experience. We invested substantial time and money, yet received very little meaningful instruction compared to what we expected. I give that statement it's own sentence because Daniel's calm instruction and gentle voice go a long way for anyone learning to drive, and for me just needing a refresher course. We drove through busy San Francisco, narrow China Town, turned left and right, parallel parked and practiced baking up. I nailed it, thanks to Daniel's excellent, calm instruction! I'm an experienced driver, but I…read morehad never held a US license, and I had not driven in a few years, so I thought I'd look for an instructor just to brush up on the fundamentals. Nelson pointed out some of the habits I've picked up in my time driving without an examiner looking over my shoulder, which was helpful reinforcement for the actual test. We also practiced near the area of the test, which helped me build familiarity and confidence, even though the final route was a little bit different. He also helped with the booking and lent me his car, all for a very reasonable rate. On top of that, he was always punctual. He did ask me to reschedule one of our lessons (just by about half an hour), but it wasn't a major inconvenience. Perhaps my only gripe would be that as an experienced driver, there were some very basic things that he reviewed with me that I probably didn't really need... but this wasn't a big deal. All in all, I would definitely recommend booking a lesson with Nelson.
