This place is for anyone who does not enjoy the hot fresh flavorful food one mile away. This is for those who enjoy room temperature, greasy food. Let me start with the chips, because that's what you do in a Mexican restaurant. Old, cold and stale. We sent them back, and got chips that were more stale. Ugh! We asked the waitress if they make their own chips and her reply was that "she doesn't work in the kitchen". The salsa was the same generic salsa I've had in 1000 lower end mexican restaurants over 40 years. It did have some VERY LARGE chunks of onion added (see pics). The queso was in a large cup, and warmed, but very bland. Okay, it's just chips... let's move on. We came in for the Birria Quesa Tacos (aka brisket/ cheese tacos). Greasy and fried foods I am not afraid of (I'm actually a huge fan if you read my reviews), but I am always disappointed with puddles of grease. The yelp photos of the Birria Quesa tacos looked good, of course, we immediately noticed we didn't get the side salad with radishes (not that needed them, but consistency). The meat was dry (which is hard for stew meat), and the quesa was nada. The consume' which came out was flavorful, but it was the only warm thing on the plate. Room temperature rice and beans, and tacos. The meat was warmed, which is probably why it was dry. However, what really set us off was the music. Not that I normally pay attention, but there was a hip-hop mexican music being played which wasn't too awful. I would never consider it restaurant/ dining music, but it wasn't too distracting. Then the kids in charge changed it to some very explicit vulgar music. Someone from the kitchen ran out and made them change it, but not before my wife had already given me "that look". They went back to the loud hispanic hip-hop music, and we called for our tab. My young child does not need to go to a restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and learn those words. 1 STAR, we won't be back.

My family and I decided to try this place out after hearing about it on a local community FB page. When you walk in the door you can hear Spanish hip hop music and smell the food coming out of the kitchen. We sat down and did have to wait a bit before the waitress was able to get to us. The place was slightly busy serving the after church rush. The waitress was apologetic and friendly when she made it to our table. Chips and salsa were served asap after she came over. The salsa was delicious! Chips were thicker than what I'm used to eating. We asked for the spicier salsas and our waitress brought three more types of salsas out for us. I ordered the quesa birria tacos and I thought they were pretty good! The meat was a bit under seasoned for my preference, but once I put the cilantro and onions in the taco and dipped it into the consume' served with it the flavoring was there. We will be back to try other things on the menu as we all enjoyed what we had. Just FYI- There is a pool table in the restaurant and after our children were finished eating they asked if they could play. Our waitress informed us it's $7/hr for the pool table. There isn't any signs that stated that so it's hard to know unless you've been there before.

The margaritas are great, but the chicken is dry and overcooked. People are very nice.

We tried this place because of all the great reviews and pictures of the food. I knew right away when I went to the women's restroom to wash my hands that this was probably gonna be a bad experience. The water BARELY trickled out of the faucet, never got even slightly warm and you could tell someone filled the soap bottle with water because there was very little "soap" in it at all. I sure hope they have a better hand washing station in the back for the cook and wait staff. The waitress was very sweet and attentive and I know this is not her fault by all means so I give her a 5 star. The place overall just seemed dirty. My husband had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. He had to take the chicken out of the tortillas and eat it separately. He said the sauce tasted like something he had never had before and that was not a good thing. Chips and salsa were just ok. Charro beans were ok but nothing special. I had a flour beef taco a la carte (because of my first impression listed above). Ate half and decided it probably wasn't safe to go on. I'm all about shopping local and I really wish I didn't feel the need to post this but maybe the owner will read and take heart. I honestly do not know how this place has this rating on Facebook but don't be fooled like we were. The food looks nothing like the pics. Oh!!!! I almost forgot...The $1.00 margarita special is "you get what you pay for FOR SURE...sugar water"

I was the only table with anyone there, so the service was excellent. Haha... I came wanting to get the quesa-birrias. But Wednesday is fajita dinner special for $10. I did the combination fajitas. The beef was good, and the chicken was just so-so. I still wish I had an idea of what their birrias tastes like. Maybe next time. Still a good experience, and you really can't beat the price on fajitas.

Tucked away off 287 in an old strip mall...a surprising little restaurant with good homemade tortillas and really good old fashioned Mexican food...no frills...just good food. Service was good and playing upbeat music. Colorful tables and decor.

It's rare to find people who combine professionalism with such a personal touch. It is a neat place inside but that doesn't overcome the shortcomings. I had Mexican food many times in the last couple days so I opted for the jalapeño peach pork chop. It was honestly tougher than leather- I really needed a sawsall to cut it. The flavor was fine. I knew I was in trouble when it arrived with a couple Libby's peaches fresh from the can sitting on the pork chop. My sides were tasteless mashed potatoes and steamed, mushy veggies. Chips and salsa, average. Queso with flavorless ground beef, average. My son had the birria tacos which were good. Not great by any stretch- it wasn't a traditional recipe and didn't have the traditional Oaxaca cheese. They used cheddar or another orange cheese. He said "good", I will call them "average": He ate all of the rice so it must have been decent. I didn't try a margarita but the ones I saw looked pretty typical for such a place big glass and probably average. I wouldn't eat here again. $50 for 2, no alcohol and I had water. We did get an order of Queso. There has to be better Mexican places than this nearby.
