We got takeout for dinner here tonight. My husband ordered the chicken tacos and I got a chicken pupusa and chicken tamales. The place is a little hole in the wall and the food was tasty! My husband loved his tacos but they were a bit small so an order (it comes with 3) probably won't fill you up if you're hungry. The pupusa was delicious and the slaw they gave went well with it. It had chicken and cheese inside and had the perfect chew to it. I will definitely get this again. The tamal had good flavor but almost no filling. This one is tough, but i have to settle on "OK" and three stars instead of "Good" and four stars. The space is tight, but mostly it's a bit junky and cluttered. It's comfortable but very hole-in-the-wall in a not-so-good way. Service is friendly and helpful but quiet. The pupusas were good but lacking a bit of flavor. Salt? Spice? Somethings is missing. The plantain empanadas were not great. They were maybe good at best, but they were greasy and also lacking flavor. Their fried plantains are insanely good, and they're part of this amazing breakfast plate they have with a fried egg, refried beans, and cream that I could eat every day. I've ordered takeout from Nuevo Amanecer Pupuseria about a dozen times for my friends and family and the Burrito and Papusas have been universally love across everyone. The tacos are "okay." You can pass on them and probably go somewhere else for better tacos because they're pretty basic here. The quesadilla and baleadas are really good. They are stuffed so you will not be hungry after eating one of these. Carne Asada, Pescado and Camarones are also really good. They are closer to other taquerias, but still very good and slightly less expensive than competitors. I still highly recommended the Burritos and Papusas, but I'd you wanted to try something else then I'd say you won't go wrong with the Quesadillas and Baleadas. I'm making this my go to pupusa spot. Quick friendly service and I really liked my queso y loroco pupusa. It was different than I have had it, like the loroco is blended into it and it gave it a really nice flavor. It was the star of our order which consisted of pupusas made of queso, a few revueltas, and a bunch of loroco con queso. We didn't come specifically for that one but turns out our whole group is a fan of loroco and we were all impressed with how these tasted. The revuelta pupusas were good, okay amount of filling in all of them but I could taste more of the masa than I like. I'm glad I recently found Nuevo Amanecer again... we stopped here once on the way up to Vancouver but we recently moved closer to the area and this will be our go-to pupusería from now on. Off a busy highway in a small strip mall off of the Fred Meyer plaza, this shop appears to have a big following. Even during the takeout-only days of the lockdown, there was a steady stream of business in and out. The pupusas are the star of the show. You can choose from a variety of fillings from loroco (a plant with a delicious herbal taste), revueltas (chicharrón, beans, and cheese), queso, calabazas (squash), to plain chicharrón. In other pupuserías I've been to, you have to practically give your first born for curtido on the side (the slaw that comes with the pupusas), but here you get a generous helping with each order. The acid and slight tang of the curtido in this case cuts the richness of the pupusa filling and is a great compliment to the meal. Plus, another thing I like about their curtido is that it's not spicy like I've had it at other restaurants. I'm a fan of their maracuya (passion fruit) drink and their ice cold mangonada--both are a must if you like sweet treats! read more

I live minutes away and I cannot believe this was my first time here! I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT on (what I consider) Mill Creek's best kept secret!! The exterior is very unassuming, in a "strip mall" sort of setting. The interior is also slightly unassuming and smaller, but very colorful. The menu is posted two different spots. They have a cold case with drinks and desserts. It's an open kitchen and you can watch the employees cook, it truly feels like you're in someone's home! The pupusas I tried were incredibly flavorful, soft and full of filling. The flavors were out of the world. The chicken tamal was so authentic, delicious masa, crazy moist and filled with white meat chicken, potato and a green bean! The slaw and vinegar-y sauce that you get was really the perfect addition! We came up here to do some shopping at sprouts and decided to try this place as it was walking distance. It's a counter service restaurant. We ordered 2 spinach pupusa, an order of tacos and a tamale. The food came out pretty fast considering it was made to order so that was nice. The pupusas was similar to a grilled cheese, creamy and gooey on the inside and crispy on the outside. A little flat in my opinion as there was just spinach/cheese as a filling. The tamale was probably my least favorite. There was a lot of the flour but little of the filling. It had 2 pieces of potato and some shredded chicken. There was no sauce or anything and it didn't come in a leaf like other tamales that I had. It was soft though. The tacos are also good, the meal came with 3 tacos. It was filled with a lot of meat and cilantro and onions. What's cute was that they brought out this jar of picked veggies for you to eat with your meal.
