My boyfriend and I stopped by cause they had an offer for a free drink, tamale, pupusa or quesadilla grande and we wanted to try it out. We opted for the drink as we were heading to a friend's for dinner. I got the ensalada while my boyfriend got the horchata and I appreciated how the cashier asked if we wanted ice or not. We also saw some cute Halloween decorated conchas and saw that for four of them was 9.95 so got that to share with our friends. The conchas were delicious and not too sweet. There was plenty of parking near the location. When you enter, you see the restaurant half which is a lovely, cozy space that can seat many customers of all party sizes. They have a section for napkins, utensils and to go boxes too. If you go to the left, that is the bakery as well as small store of different goodies. They had all types of pastries, cakes, and snacks that you can choose from. The prices seem fair. When we entered the bakery side, the employees welcomed us and told us to let them know if we have any questions. Very friendly and quick service! We definitely want to come back to try their pastries, cakes, and food again. They also do have a point system that you can sign up for to get discounts and even a birthday reward too. read more

Salvadoran Bakery is a good spot if you're looking for a casual dining or cake. While in Seattle we were celebrating a birthday and the person I was with really wanted to get a cake from here. You can order cakes 2 days before hand but they also had plenty of ready to go cakes available when we came that day. They had big and small cakes in all different flavors. However, they specialize in different versions of their tres leches cakes, including their popular mango one. Before I tell you about the cake we got, I have to mention one of their coconut cream filled puff pastries I got there. It was easily one of the best freakin thing I had in Seattle. I don't even remember what it was called but it was a large sugar coated flaky puff pastry sandwich that had the best coconut house made whip cream inside. It was insanely good and you need to get it if they have it. Delicious! As for our cake, we went with a small 6 inch Piña Colada tres leche cake ($50). We were a little disappointed the guy behind the counter didn't speak English so it made it difficult to tell him what we wanted. We honestly would have ordered much more items if we were able to communicate. It was also a little disappointing that during our short smooth drive back to our hotel that two of the decorative cherries on the cake had fallen off. Not a big deal since I popped them back on but I didn't feel like that was something I had to do. Everyone we shared the cake with enjoyed it. It was very moist and definitely on the sweet side. It was two layers and the pineapple flavor wasn't overwhelming. The small cake was perfect to share with about 10 people. I did think the cake pricing is a little high but not too bad. Besides their full bakery they are also have a full dining menu and places to sit in the restaurant. They offer all sorts of Salvadoran foods. But like I mentioned communicating in English was difficult with the man there so we didn't order. Although I want to try their empanadas. I have been buying pastries from Salvadorean Bakery for many years. I will never know how I forgot to write a review for them. They are located at a prominent corner with its own parking lot. Its building is covered with the "White Center" mural. They are commonly my last stop before I leave the White Center area for the long-ish drive home. I stock up on their pastries focusing on tropical flavors not found in the typical stores. One of these days, I need to eat dinner here. During the most recent visit, the interior is slightly remodeled with a more open design. They are friendly as I point to the glass cases butchering the names of pastries or simply say "the pink one". The latest purchases: Mocha Tres Leches - Really good guilty pleasure! The cake isn't as mushy as another popular place in Wallingford. This one is a firmer sitting in the "leches". I prefer this version. Pastry box - pink pineapple layer cake, pineapple Danish, guava empanada, dulce de leche custard empanada. These are all guilty pleasures that are homey, simple, and delicious. read more

Salvadorean Bakery is a small, family-owned business in the White Center neighborhood of Seattle. It is an old favorite that I sadly hadn't been to in a long while. I was delighted to see that they had done some interior remodeling and added a bright and fresh mural outside, which indicates to me that business has been doing well. I ordered my classic go-to (minus the side of beans and rice because I wasn't that hungry), which is a couple of Pupusas Revueltas. For those who don't know, "Revueltas" means mixed, referring to the traditional filling which is a savory combination of pork, refried beans, and cheese. It is served with a side of yummy curtido (a tangy cabbage slaw) and salsa roja (a fire-roasted tomato-based sauce). I prefer to douse my pupusas with a generous amount of salsa roja and I like to put a lot of the curtido on top. It gives it way more flavor and an irresistible tang and crunch that takes me back to my youth growing up in Los Angeles and the many Pupuserias there. Other menu items that remind me of my old hometown are their various Salvadorean cookies and Tres Leches cakes. If you've never been to The Salvadorean Bakery or it has been awhile. The pastries are delicious, and the alfajor is fresh! We have been coming here a while now but the place gets crazy packed, it's OK when you walk into a restaurant and it looks crowded then you know it has to be good One of my favorite ones is empanada de Carne, it is my favorite snack on the go Also, the sweet tamale is OK but it's not the best. I don't really like their white sour cream sauce which is a little bit sweet, but it is not my favorite so it is a bit dry but it's still OK.. and of course, who's gonna walk out without a pupusa's the Chicharron and cheese you have to give this a try. What a well-loved and well-deserving community gem! It was bustling on Saturday morning and after ordering at the counter, our food was brought out to us in 15 minutes. They have a large seating area where I'd be equally comfortable feasting alone or hanging out with friends! There is an ample parking lot in front and a restroom in the back. We got a slice of pineapple upside down cake (exactly how it should be: light and tender crumb, with caramelized pineapple on top), pastelito con leche (thick cream, not too sweet), pan con pollo (incredible, my friend absolutely inhaled it), and chicharron pupusa (delicious! tender with a slight crisp). Got tres leches for a coworker whom received the cake for our work celebration-- was a HUGE hit! They all really loved the cake! The ordering online option has been really convenient. However the service could use room for improvement. Requested "Feliz Cumpleaños ___" writing and it was not there. Also the cream was slightly smeared as the employee closed the box on the left side of the cake. I still got the right cake so I didn't address it there as the line was really busy so just wanted to mention here. When I tried to stand in line to order pupusas I got looks from employees looking at me thinking I want the exit. I felt tad uncomfortable so I left. I got a combo plate (ordered online to pickup) and then while I was at the location I also got a small fruit tart for dessert. The combo platter was a good deal for the money - it's a ton of really dense food for under $20. In terms of flavor, my favorite part of the meal was definitely the tart: the cake part was not too sweet, while the fruit on top was fresh and ripe. Inside the establishment they have a small seating area as well as a small grocery area with some Salvadoran grocery items. 5 stars for the tres leches cake! But 3 stars for the assortment of baked goods we tried. I found this place through Reddit when my husband requested a tres leches for his birthday. A lot of people had good things to say about this and that their cakes are not too sweet (we love that!). We got their small classic tres leches and regretted not ordering a bigger one. It was a hit! The cake comes with fruit toppings and a strawberry jam layer in between. For the pastry assortment, I tried: Custard and guava empanadas - the custard was better for me. Conchas- it was a dry sweet bread, okay-ish Strawberry cheesecake - wasn't as soft as if expect it to be Sponge cake - wasn't okay Bread rolls - okay It's a small shop and has a little cafe inside too. Of course after a minute or 2 I asked a server how the ordering system worked. While I waited to order I had time to snap photos and stare in amaze at all their beautifully displayed pastries. Fast forward. The food was amazing. So was the patry I ordered. The napoleon. Lowkey too much cream, but luckily it was very light. I'd most def try their other dessert offerings. Luckily this bakery has a large assortment of ready made cakes that you can just buy the day of! I was there on a Saturday afternoon and there was a long line, but the wait wasn't that bad. They have a parking lot which I always appreciate! I got the Mango Cake, which is a mango tres leches cake filled with mango and topped with fruit. I thought this cake looked beautiful and it was reasonably priced which is super rare these days. The cake was delicious and my friends enjoyed it too. Wow this place is busy! We were in the area and decided to check them out. The place has a nice parking lot and inside, it was separated into a bakery and a restaurant. We didn't order much so we decided to grab takeout instead of dine in. We got a variety of pupusas and they were pretty big. While waiting, we saw people come in grabbing cake orders and that definitely tempted me to order a cake in the future. They were busy so it did take time to get our pupusas but it wasn't too bad: Chicken, pork ---pretty standard. Generous filling Locoro - I like this one because it was very cheesy and had a nice texture Ayote --- this was our least favorite, there was too much ayote and not enough of cheese or anything so it was bland and dry. Coming with these pupusas were some hot sauce and some fermented cabbages. The hot sauce was really good. We still have leftovers and have been using it to dip other stuff. Overall, I will likely come back if I'm in the area to try other food here as well as their cake :) People here are pretty nice as well read more

Delicious BUT expensive! This place is located near the church & a car service place. They have an ample selections of dessert, cakes and sweets. It's also a mini grocery with some Guatemalan & Salvadoran produce. I wanted to try their food plate. I ordered the following: sopas (so it's a soup with veggies and large side of two fried chicken and salad), carne asada & 2 chicken tamales. All of it came with the thick corn tortilla made from scratch. Like I mentioned it was delicious! However the price is something that would not make me come back. Just the carne asada alone is a whopping $29.99 while the sopas with chicken is $19.99. Also they do charge 3% fee if you use card to pay. So, bring your cash. While the whole world is going digital this place is old school. It's almost as if their overhead here is so high they need to pass it on to their customers. So with that said, I've spent too much on food I couldn't afford their desserts. The service is great, you feel like going to someone's home and they welcome you in (but only if you can afford it). Overall if you've got the money come try the place, otherwise you can drive a bit further and head towards the bigger Seattle and maybe just skip this place. My review is for the bakery only. I bought a box of pastries as you can see from the photo to sample a variety of things. The pastries are reasonably priced from $2-4 so the box cost me $16.50. I was a bit disappointed by the turnovers. I got an apple and a pineapple turnover. They looked huge but have so little filling so the interior was mostly air. I did like the sliced roll cake, the guava pastry and the dulce de leche cookies but I didn't like the pink slice of cake because of the crunchy sugar topping. I would be willing to come back and try some other things but I know not everything will be a hit for me. I will definitely upgrade them to 4 stars if I find something amazing next time. read more

We finally made it to this bakery that I've had bookmarked for years! We were in the area and I needed to try it. My husband is El Salvadoran and we miss the food his grandma used to make. The quesadilla (not the Mexican kind) cake was delicious. The best we've found in a long time. We tried two pupusas as well and they were delicious. Well, this is a bakery that you cannot miss. We love their pupusas. They taste as authentic as you can get. We have tried the chorizo, bean and cheese. Bean and cheese and cheese only. They are amazing. They also serve breakfast and lunch options. Lastly, the bakery items including the French bread is so tasty. You have to get there early to get them hot and fresh. I ordered a birthday cake for my little brother and even though I couldn't write happy birthday on it the all natural and healthy fruit decorations and beautiful fruit arrangement on the cake spoke wonders. I am in LOVE with this cake too. The mango tres leches with the mango jam was so delicious $40 for an 8 inch cake and worth every single bite.
