Salvadoran Bakery is a good spot if you're looking for a casual dining or cake. While in Seattle we were celebrating a birthday and the person I was with really wanted to get a cake from here. You can order cakes 2 days before hand but they also had plenty of ready to go cakes available when we came that day. They had big and small cakes in all different flavors. However, they specialize in different versions of their tres leches cakes, including their popular mango one. Before I tell you about the cake we got, I have to mention one of their coconut cream filled puff pastries I got there. It was easily one of the best freakin thing I had in Seattle. I don't even remember what it was called but it was a large sugar coated flaky puff pastry sandwich that had the best coconut house made whip cream inside. It was insanely good and you need to get it if they have it. Delicious! As for our cake, we went with a small 6 inch Piña Colada tres leche cake ($50). We were a little disappointed the guy behind the counter didn't speak English so it made it difficult to tell him what we wanted. We honestly would have ordered much more items if we were able to communicate. It was also a little disappointing that during our short smooth drive back to our hotel that two of the decorative cherries on the cake had fallen off. Not a big deal since I popped them back on but I didn't feel like that was something I had to do. Everyone we shared the cake with enjoyed it. It was very moist and definitely on the sweet side. It was two layers and the pineapple flavor wasn't overwhelming. The small cake was perfect to share with about 10 people. I did think the cake pricing is a little high but not too bad. Besides their full bakery they are also have a full dining menu and places to sit in the restaurant. They offer all sorts of Salvadoran foods. But like I mentioned communicating in English was difficult with the man there so we didn't order. Although I want to try their empanadas. Parking here was also easy since they have their own lot.

They are friendly as I point to the glass cases butchering the names of pastries or simply say "the pink one". The latest purchases: Mocha Tres Leches - Really good guilty pleasure! The cake isn't as mushy as another popular place in Wallingford. This one is a firmer sitting in the "leches". I prefer this version. Pastry box - pink pineapple layer cake, pineapple Danish, guava empanada, dulce de leche custard empanada. These are all guilty pleasures that are homey, simple, and delicious.

I was delighted to see that they had done some interior remodeling and added a bright and fresh mural outside, which indicates to me that business has been doing well. I ordered my classic go-to (minus the side of beans and rice because I wasn't that hungry), which is a couple of Pupusas Revueltas. For those who don't know, "Revueltas" means mixed, referring to the traditional filling which is a savory combination of pork, refried beans, and cheese. It is served with a side of yummy curtido (a tangy cabbage slaw) and salsa roja (a fire-roasted tomato-based sauce). I prefer to douse my pupusas with a generous amount of salsa roja and I like to put a lot of the curtido on top. It gives it way more flavor and an irresistible tang and crunch that takes me back to my youth growing up in Los Angeles and the many Pupuserias there. Other menu items that remind me of my old hometown are their various Salvadorean cookies and Tres Leches cakes. If you've never been to The Salvadorean Bakery or it has been awhile. This post is a friendly reminder to eat there soon. They have a parking lot, a dining room with ample seating, and I've only experienced friendly and efficient service.

They have a large seating area where I'd be equally comfortable feasting alone or hanging out with friends! There is an ample parking lot in front and a restroom in the back. We got a slice of pineapple upside down cake (exactly how it should be: light and tender crumb, with caramelized pineapple on top), pastelito con leche (thick cream, not too sweet), pan con pollo (incredible, my friend absolutely inhaled it), and chicharron pupusa (delicious! tender with a slight crisp). Everything is priced well. I'd love to come back and try the sopa de pollo y pollo frito and horchata. This is also where I'd go to order a tres leches or other full-sized cake!
Got tres leches for a coworker whom received the cake for our work celebration-- was a HUGE hit! They all really loved the cake! The ordering online option has been really convenient. However the service could use room for improvement. Requested "Feliz Cumpleaños ___" writing and it was not there. Also the cream was slightly smeared as the employee closed the box on the left side of the cake. I still got the right cake so I didn't address it there as the line was really busy so just wanted to mention here. When I tried to stand in line to order pupusas I got looks from employees looking at me thinking I want the exit. I felt tad uncomfortable so I left. Understandably it was a really busy day so Ill give this place another chance later on a better day.

I had a pineapple turnover and a mango and almond pastry. They were amazing! The coffee was great too. We stopped in on a weekend afternoon and it was busy but they got everyone served quickly and were very prompt. You order at the counter and can either take to go or sit in the dining room.
The most authentic el Salvadorean spots in Seattle. Walking in you feel right at home. Bakery counter to the left to order food or anything else you need (full cakes, sit down meal, piñatas, horchata, you name it!!!), little grocery section in the center, indoor seating to the right. If ordering food (best pupusas, so many vegetarian and meat options) know it will take a bit, but it's always worth it. Parking lot to the left of the building

It's a cute simple bakery and restaurant set up with a nice selection of sweets and a tiny grocery section. It was bustling, so it's clearly well loved in the neighborhood. Prices match King County.

I think it's a complete lack of respect for the customer to charge $50 for such a ridiculously small cake. When we saw what we received, we honestly couldn't believe that was what we had paid for. The price is completely disproportionate to the size of the product. There's a difference between charging more for an artisanal product and setting prices that make customers feel like they're being taken advantage of. For $50, you expect to receive something that actually justifies the price, not something so small that you're left wondering how it could possibly cost that much. We left extremely upset and disappointed. As customers, we feel like we wasted our money. They seriously need to reconsider their prices and be much more transparent about the size of what they're selling. To me, this isn't offering a premium product; it's charging an outrageous price for a minimal amount. After this experience, I would not come back, and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
My boyfriend and I stopped by cause they had an offer for a free drink, tamale, pupusa or quesadilla grande and we wanted to try it out. We opted for the drink as we were heading to a friend's for dinner. I got the ensalada while my boyfriend got the horchata and I appreciated how the cashier asked if we wanted ice or not. We also saw some cute Halloween decorated conchas and saw that for four of them was 9.95 so got that to share with our friends. The conchas were delicious and not too sweet. There was plenty of parking near the location. When you enter, you see the restaurant half which is a lovely, cozy space that can seat many customers of all party sizes. They have a section for napkins, utensils and to go boxes too. If you go to the left, that is the bakery as well as small store of different goodies. They had all types of pastries, cakes, and snacks that you can choose from. The prices seem fair. When we entered the bakery side, the employees welcomed us and told us to let them know if we have any questions. Very friendly and quick service! We definitely want to come back to try their pastries, cakes, and food again. They also do have a point system that you can sign up for to get discounts and even a birthday reward too. read more

Truly a community gem in White Center. I was in the area and I tried 3 different kinds of pupusas: revueltas, chicarron, and queso con Pollo. All were pretty good and I enjoyed it. The only downside was the wait for the food after ordering at the counter was a bit long. But it was still worth it and I'd be back if I'm in the area. read more

Bakery / restaraunt. Gets crowded in the front bakery, but the dining area didn't feel any more available. I waited in line slightly confused for about 10 minutes. Of course after a minute or 2 I asked a server how the ordering system worked. While I waited to order I had time to snap photos and stare in amaze at all their beautifully displayed pastries. Fast forward. The food was amazing. So was the patry I ordered. The napoleon. Lowkey too much cream, but luckily it was very light. I'd most def try their other dessert offerings. As far as I could tell my food was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. Can't wait to come back. The interior was very bright and clean. The servers were all very busy and nice. The type of place you could eat at often. Great for a simple date or even to bring a family or large party. I would not come here for a fancy date. Based on what I could tell they offer breakfast and lunch all day. Their selection was more than acceptable. Best of all, parking was simple. read more

Salvadorean Bakery & Restaurant is awesome and I can't believe I waited so long to stop by! I wanted to bring a cake to a friend's house and I guess I didn't really make plans ahead of time. Luckily this bakery has a large assortment of ready made cakes that you can just buy the day of! I was there on a Saturday afternoon and there was a long line, but the wait wasn't that bad. They have a parking lot which I always appreciate! I got the Mango Cake, which is a mango tres leches cake filled with mango and topped with fruit. I thought this cake looked beautiful and it was reasonably priced which is super rare these days. The cake was delicious and my friends enjoyed it too. I would definitely visit this bakery again and they also have a full restaurant where they serve things like pupusas and tamales. read more
I ordered Revolelta. It is bean, meat, and cheese. It is on the salty side. Salty is the main favor. My favorite pupusa is still in Portland, OR. The closest was pupusa in Burien. I ordered one of their bakery, Guayaba, it was ok. The filling tasted very artificial. Pupusa was $5 and the bake good was $1.95. There is 3% charge for all credit card transactions. You ordered at counter and they will bring food to your table if you are dinning in. The service was good. read more
Wow this place is busy! We were in the area and decided to check them out. The place has a nice parking lot and inside, it was separated into a bakery and a restaurant. We didn't order much so we decided to grab takeout instead of dine in. We got a variety of pupusas and they were pretty big. While waiting, we saw people come in grabbing cake orders and that definitely tempted me to order a cake in the future. They were busy so it did take time to get our pupusas but it wasn't too bad: Chicken, pork ---pretty standard. Generous filling Locoro - I like this one because it was very cheesy and had a nice texture Ayote --- this was our least favorite, there was too much ayote and not enough of cheese or anything so it was bland and dry. Coming with these pupusas were some hot sauce and some fermented cabbages. The hot sauce was really good. We still have leftovers and have been using it to dip other stuff. Overall, I will likely come back if I'm in the area to try other food here as well as their cake :) People here are pretty nice as well read more
My review is for the bakery only. I bought a box of pastries as you can see from the photo to sample a variety of things. The pastries are reasonably priced from $2-4 so the box cost me $16.50. I was a bit disappointed by the turnovers. I got an apple and a pineapple turnover. They looked huge but have so little filling so the interior was mostly air. I did like the sliced roll cake, the guava pastry and the dulce de leche cookies but I didn't like the pink slice of cake because of the crunchy sugar topping. I would be willing to come back and try some other things but I know not everything will be a hit for me. I will definitely upgrade them to 4 stars if I find something amazing next time. read more

Delicious BUT expensive! This place is located near the church & a car service place. They have an ample selections of dessert, cakes and sweets. It's also a mini grocery with some Guatemalan & Salvadoran produce. I wanted to try their food plate. I ordered the following: sopas (so it's a soup with veggies and large side of two fried chicken and salad), carne asada & 2 chicken tamales. All of it came with the thick corn tortilla made from scratch. Like I mentioned it was delicious! However the price is something that would not make me come back. Just the carne asada alone is a whopping $29.99 while the sopas with chicken is $19.99. Also they do charge 3% fee if you use card to pay. So, bring your cash. While the whole world is going digital this place is old school. It's almost as if their overhead here is so high they need to pass it on to their customers. So with that said, I've spent too much on food I couldn't afford their desserts. The service is great, you feel like going to someone's home and they welcome you in (but only if you can afford it). Overall if you've got the money come try the place, otherwise you can drive a bit further and head towards the bigger Seattle and maybe just skip this place. Or just order their pupusas and a dessert and skip their food plates. read more

Salvadorean Bakery & Restaurant is located on SW Roxbury St. in White Center. The side of the building is painted with an orange mural, so you can't miss it. As it's aptly named, this business is a bakery, restaurant, and also a market rolled into one with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu includes a wide variety of items including pastries, sopas, pupusas, etc. You can order single items or combo plates/meals. In terms of baked goods, they do not include everything when you order online. If you're in-person at the bakery, there are more options and you can even place an order for a beautifully decorated cake. You can also browse the mini market for snacks and goods. In comparison to other places where I've ordered pupusas, I wish the portions were bigger. But overall, I enjoyed what I ordered and would be interested in also trying more of their baked goods and meals. We finally made it to this bakery that I've had bookmarked for years! We were in the area and I needed to try it. My husband is El Salvadoran and we miss the food his grandma used to make. The quesadilla (not the Mexican kind) cake was delicious. The best we've found in a long time. We tried two pupusas as well and they were delicious. We weren't that hungry so we will definitely come back to try more. I want the whole fried fish! Yum! read more

Mannnn They did it again! I ordered a birthday cake for my little brother and even though I couldn't write happy birthday on it the all natural and healthy fruit decorations and beautiful fruit arrangement on the cake spoke wonders. I am in LOVE with this cake too. The mango tres leches with the mango jam was so delicious $40 for an 8 inch cake and worth every single bite. It is probably one of my favorite things in the world and knowing I am supporting a local business making healthy delicious cakes with a homemade vibe encourages me to order from here even more if that is even possible. read more
