Twice when we ordered pupusas for our toddlers with drink orders, the kids' pupusas don't arrive until AFTER everyone else's main dishes have arrived (and after we have to remind the waitress). Cocktails have been forgotten, which we have had to remind them on as well. To our server's credit, she apologized many times and said the restaurant just got super busy at once. However, we noticed other tables (who arrived after us) were attended to and served sooner than we were. Given all the disorder, our family has decided we are just going to get takeout. The food is still excellent, but we are frustrated with the service.

They gave me condiments - 3 different hot sauces which I liked the avocado one which was a great creamy sauce. And there 3 pieces of lime and cut radishes. Plus, there were pickled onions which was tasty! I asked a lot of questions because I wanted to eat them all the way he would so The server told me to put the pickled onions on the pupusa. Oh, that made a huge difference. So delicious!!! Next time, I am just going to get 4 tacos - yep 4! lol and may try a burrito just to see how that is. But like I mentioned communicating in English was difficult with the man there so we didn't order. Although I want to try their empanadas. Parking here was also easy since they have their own lot.

I want to rant and rave about El Sabor Casero. I want to climb the building and start shouting to everybody near by that this place is legit! Unfortunately that would make everybody think I am crazy, so here is my digital building that I have climbed upon to let you know, El Sabor Casero is awesome! First off, they have California Burritos, and they taste just like the ones from California. Their menu is kind of everywhere, you really don't know where to go and some of the things have no real pictures of explanation, but they sound good. Luckily I used to eat this kind of food dag gon near everyday and armed with google to look up what the items are, you'll be in for a treat. Secondly you might have to just ask for random things and they will more than likely have it, even though they aren't listed anywhere. Horchata and Jamaica drinks are there but it doesn't show them anywhere. Also they have kids meals, also not listed. I thought the kids meals would be meh, but I was wrong, their beans are quite delicious and the rice is above par. The quesadilla can be gotten plain or with chicken and steak. Whenever I am in the area for lunch, this is my first thought. I truly love El Sabor Casero, my #1 mexican place in Poulsbo. read more

Omg, I never thought this place was going to be even close to authentic Mexican-Salvatorian food. I was in shock when I tried their amazing and delicious dishes. The Enchiladas Caseras wow to die for. Everything I had tried starting with pupusas to Quesadillas caseras are amazingly delicious and authentic flavors. Plus the owners are very nice and friendly people, they treat you like a family. My Puerto Rican friend says that she feels Mexican when she eats at El sabor casero.
