The beans were a pile of mushed beans, with no actual bean chunks and no flavor. No garlic, no salt, no butter - no flavor at all. Same with the chalupa and the enchilada. The enchilada sauce was bland, almost like a base tomato sauce. The meat didn't have any flavor at all. The Guadalaraja (chicken burrito and chicken enchilada) - which hubby had said that his was pretty meh. He also said he didn't need to go back there again. My friend ordered the molcajete and everything was super tender and it came with a house sauce at the bottom of it to give it extra flavor. It has a variety of meats and fried cheese and a cactus piece on it. Definitely big enough for two and unique! I ordered the carne asada, my piece came with more fat than I'm used to. Although the flavor was great. I paired it with a michelada and it came out a little spicy. The service was great they were on top of it. I had the beef version of this here, while it was solid, it did not blow my socks off. Beef was seasoned well, everything was piping hot and the taste was pretty bland overall. The refried beans were very tasty and the little bit of cheese on top was a great touch! I did not care for the salsa and chips. It didn't have much zip to it or any onion or cilantro flavors that I like. Chips were thick but warm and sprinkled with salt. I was there in the middle of the day and the place seemed a little dark. Service was fast and friendly. I will give it another whirl and try something different. But there are other Mexican places I will try before I go back to this one. Our waiter made sure we didn't run out of salsa and chips while we were talking and waiting for our food. I ordered the Speedy Gonzalez with a hard shell beef taco, chicken enchilada and rice. We got our food in less than 10 minutes. It's one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Richmond. Good quality and cheap. For the three of us with tip was $28.
