I thought the quality of ingredients was high. The sandwich itself was very tasty and came warm (lightly toasted on the outside). - My one criticism is that the roll was not toasted on the inside to counteract the wetness of the tomato and pickle, and I would suggest at least a light toasting as standard practice. If I had eaten the sandwich in-store, then this might not have been an issue. But any wait time between construction and consumption will lead to a slightly soggy bread (which is anathema!). For $14 I was well satisfied and recommend asking for extra toasted bread at this spot to any looking for a decent sandwich. read more

I love The Sandwich Spot, and while this isn't my normal location that I frequent, I was pretty pleased with my experience. Inside is small, at lunch rush it could get very crowded as we came at 12:30, we missed most of the rush but seating was still sparse. I got the #1 and 3 #16's. My daughter doesn't like bacon (weirdo, I know) and they were kind enough to add her bacon between the other 2 #16's which I appreciate. I also asked for extra dressing on my #1 and they put it in a cup versus the sandwich which I also appreciate as it prevents my sandwich from be soggy when I get home. As mentioned we came at the tail end of the lunch rush and it took about 15-20 minutes for our sandwiches to be made, not too bad considering I had 4 sandwiches for them to make. Only thing I find a bummer is each spot has their own versions of sandwich "specials" so my normal sandwich I get at the Laguna location would be considered a custom create your own at this location and would have cost me almost $15 versus $12. I love the Sandwich Spot. I've never had any bad experiences at any of their Sacramento locations. Definitely one of the best sandwich spots in town. They aren't cheap with their ingredients. Everything is fresh. I think the Elsie location is under new management/owner. Not sure how they were able to make something amazing even better but they did it. You can create your own sandwich for $7.99 or you can just chose one of their specialty items for the listed price. They bake their own bread fresh daily. I have fun trying something new each time I stop in! So far, I have enjoyed the tuna salad, the veggie, chicken breast, and white meat turkey with Dutch Crunch bread. The spreads are very tasty and adds a nice flavor to each unique sandwich. Whenever Joe doesn't have the time or energy to cook dinner, I often suggest picking up something from The Sandwich Spot.
