This No. 1 Chinese Restaurant is located in the Salem Crossing shopping area. It's mostly a take out place. Ordering by the quart is recommended. The food was quite flavorful. Like how there's a lot of mushrooms in the roast pork and mushrooms. The egg foo young had a lot of shrimp and fried rice.

Not bad.. food was hot. Ready in 10 mins. Rice could've had more flavor. Bourbon chicken was too peppery but fine. Egg rolls were good but Very very greasy. Lots of shrimp in the shrimp fried rice. Great portions.

The establishment isn't fancy and that's ok. I'd rather the food be good and the establishment be cozy like I'm in someone's home and that is what this place delivers. I like to order plain lo mein and finally a restaurant that doesn't charge for vegetable lo mein when all I'm eating is the noodles. I like to see patrons sitting in the restaurant and eating and today there were two families dining in. As soon as I try the food I'll update my review. So, my food was the best! Crunchy where it counts and soft appropriately. The plain lo mein noodles were so incredibly good I tried not to eat the whole container. I will absolutely be eating here again.

This is my favorite place since teenager back in '97 till now. I always order the undying lunch special General Tso chicken separate sauce with fried rice. I never had any complaints maybe once or twice. She is very nice. Sometimes she's mean but it's understandable because when the place is busy with lots of calls and pending order. This is the only place can get my Tso right.

This Chinese takeout is literally number one , I've been going here for years and never had any issues with my food as far as taste , temperature or freshness . I always call in and my food is cooked exactly the way I have asked and ready when I arrive no matter how busy they are .

So let's start with the bad - I've never liked (or frankly, understood) when restaurants don't give priority to the person standing in front of them. I was about to order a general tso lunch special and I was asked to hold on so they could answer the phone. The phone order also asked for a general tso. As I was watching them make the food they made it and bagged it in the order they took the order. Meaning they made a general tso, bagged it up and marked it as a phone order and then I stood there another 2-3 minutes waiting for them to finish making the next one that was for me. The phone order never came in while inwas in there so why not just flip them? Common sense. Anyway as far as the food it's pretty good. Had a nice kick to it, although the sauce was a little sweeter than general tso normally is. Huge portion, I took a picture after I had eaten several pieces of chicken and a couple scoops of rice. So that's nice. The rice is much browner than usual fast food Chinese and has a smoky flavor which I ended up masking with the general tso sauce. All in all pretty decent food with a great portion size and iffy customer service.

Well, I had an incredible lunch experience at Wang Jiang Lou that made my day! It all began with the warm welcome, followed by incredible service table side and even as I left the team made me feel good (More later!). Whoever designed this restaurant knows something about creating an escape from the world experience. The paneling, table settings, lighting, and every inch of the dining area allowed me to take a deep breath escaping from a hectic hot and humid Virginia Beach weekday hustle! The $16 lunch is a bargain! Offering several impressive entrees plus soup. I am extremely particular about Hot and Sour soup and this bowl was delicious with a subtly of flavors and a pleasant silky texture. I consumed every last drop and returned a clean bowl! I chose Yu Xiang Pork as my entree, which my waitress said was one of the top two favorites along with the pork belly. She said she would give the Yu Xiang Pork the edge. She was right because I loved this dish! I like heat and this offered heat. I like varied texture and this had a range of textures. I want flavor that makes you eat everything served and this delicious lunch offering succeeded. For the price I was so impressed with the variety of mushrooms!! The cherry on top for this visit (No, I didn't get an ice cream sundae.) was the warm thank you's PLURAL that I received from the people up front as I left. Their smiles were beaming at me and they genuinely made me feel like they were happy I came in for a $16 lunch. I said with a wink that I was going to the kitchen to see if they would provide the same smiles of thanks and was told that they would (No, I didn't go to find out.). Clearly a great team serving delicious food in an awesome setting made me wish I lived in Virginia Beach but then I stepped outside into the heat, humidity and hectic world that this FIVE STAR restaurant named Wang Jiang Lou made me forget about for an hour.

The restaurant was fairly empty, with only three other tables occupied, so we were surprised by the length of the wait. Our two canned Sapporos didn't arrive until about 30 minutes after ordering. The shrimp sandwich took approximately 45 minutes, and the Vang rolls arrived after about an hour. After waiting an hour, we were informed that the garlic shrimp for our garlic noodles was unavailable, despite it being part of our original order. Unfortunately, the Vang rolls were so salty that we couldn't finish them. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were never refilled, and there was little communication about the delays or unavailable menu items. After roughly 90 minutes of waiting, multiple delays, and learning that several items were unavailable, we decided to pay for what we had received the two Sapporos, the shrimp sandwich, and the Vang rolls, which came to about $70. Perhaps we visited on an off night, but the combination of the slow service, poor communication, unavailable menu items, and disappointing food quality made for a frustrating experience. Based on this visit, I don't see myself returning. +1 Vibe +0 Taste +0 Presentation +0 Service +0 Value

You can dine in or do takeout. The restaurant has a laid back vibe, and pretty decor. The hanging light fixture is super cute!! The staff is friendly, and we were greeted promptly!! We ordered a garlic butter corndog, a regular corndog, fries, a cookie butter shake, a chicken sandwich, and a mango lemonade... The owner is super sweet, she brought out new items for us to try that she'll be adding to the menu soon. The crab rangoon fries and crab rangoon wonton nachos.. We didn't have to wait long for our food. I was satisfied with that. Korean corn dogs: the garlic butter was tasty on the corn dog, and the regular one was good also with both sauces. You can choose cheese, hotdog, or half and half!! I always enjoy them!! Fries: they were crispy and tasted fresh! The crab rangoon fries were good also. They had scallions, crab, and rangoon cream cheese sauce. The rangoon cream cheese sauce is delicious. We also added a little siracha sauce, which was just enough spice to make it pop. The wonton nachos had the same toppings as the fries. I really enjoyed the wonton chips!! I'd definitely get them again. I had leftovers and the wonton chips were still crispy. Chicken sandwich: it had kimchi cucumbers and honey siracha sauce. It was good and also on the $5 deals menu. Good deal! Cookie butter milkshake: we both liked the drink. The cookie butter taste came through good. My daughter was a little confused because it didn't have ice cream like a milkshake would. So it's more of a thick milk based kind of drink. But I did enjoy it. Mango lemonade: this drink was refreshing. It had just enough sweetness. It comes in a pint sized container. There's mango, watermelon, and strawberry. You can also add boba for an upcharge. Very tasty!! Cookie butter croffle: Mmmm! My daughter loved it, she left me one bite. Lol. This is one of my top flavors!! Honestly all the croffle flavors are good!! All I all, the food was good and customer service was also! There's always something new to be on the lookout for, so check them and their menu out! First and last time here!…read more I was looking for a quick bite and found this place on Yelp. They had pretty good reviews, but I should have trusted the lower-rated ones. When I arrived, I was one of three people in the entire restaurant. Two people were dining in, and I was ordering my food to go. I wasn't greeted or anything, which was the first red flag. The cashier was about to take my order but then decided that I can just order on the kiosk; however, you can't pay on the kiosk, so that didn't make any sense to me. I decided to go with the soy garlic six-piece wings. They cook them to order, so there was a 15-minute wait. I sat at one of the six empty tables in the restaurant. A white woman walked in and wanted to dine in. Instead of her choosing another empty table, the cashier said that since I was ordering my food to go, I could sit somewhere else. This was extremely unnecessary and racist. My blood was boiling at this point, and I wished I could have canceled my order and gotten a refund. While the food came out hot, I did not enjoy the smell once I opened it. It had a weird odor, which made it hard for me to enjoy the meal. The chicken also lacked a lot of flavor. They rely heavily on the sauce, which isn't even balanced. I ordered soy garlic, and all I could taste was sugar. I couldn't even finish all of my food. Also, the wings are big, which I am not a fan of. Overall, this entire experience was awful, and for these reasons, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place.

Warning, the Dakbul is really spicy and the portion is for more than one person. Chicken feet are bone in and you're given a little bucket for the bones. Don't forget to ask for an apron and gloves as this can get messy. With the spicy and sweetness of the rich sauce I can see why this is paired with a nice cold drink. The rice balls were also really great to help cool you down. At the end of the meal you're also given a semi frozen yakult. Perfect way to end a great Korean meal.

We wanted to get the egg rolls as I was craving it, but they said they do not have it despite being on the menu. That was a little disappointing. We got the sesame chicken which mostly tasted like orange chicken with a little more soy sauce and a little less orange. It was tasty, but again the price for what it was did not match. The honey roasted duck was tasty with a savory thick sauce to dip. We got white rice with our dishes. My husband asked for chopsticks, and there were none which was surprising. The fortune cookie at the end was stale, and my fortune was kind of a hilarious demand to be vegetarian/vegan. The service was decent.
