I ordered Door Dash from here and it was not good. I ordered Won Ton Soup, crab Rangoon and chicken and broccoli. I asked for lots of hot mustard but no other condiments. The order was fulfilled correctly. The food was just not good. The won tons were kind of chewy. The crab Rangoon was way too sweet. And the chicken and broccoli was not good....the broccoli was overcooked and just didn't have good flavor. The hot mustard packets were old.....the mustard was a darker color and not hot. I would not order from here again nor would I recommend. I basically get the same thing from Chinese restaurants. I love crab Rangoon and order it every time. Same with Won Ton Soup. It's my Go To soup when I am not feeling well. So many of these Chinese restaurants are similar but this one was sub par. read more

This my new number 1, Number 1 Chinese Restaurant While there are probably close to a million (I might be off by a couple) No 1 Chinese Restaurants in the area, this location definitely is in my top ten. For my visit, I went with a Bourbon Chicken combo, which was pretty good for take-out 'fast food' Chinese American food. The service was pretty quick, and the prices were reasonable. Actually, I thought the service was the best of the local No. 1 Chinese Restaurants. The woman taking the orders was very friendly. Unfortunately, the customer service at other locations can be a bit awkward and rude . . . almost like you are bothering them when placing an order. Pork Fried rice: Good color and variety of ingredients. Flavorful. Shrimp Egg Foo Yung: some of the best I've ever had! So good with perfect gravy! Highly recommend if you like egg foo yung! There's no real ambiance. There are tables you can sit and eat at but we just pick up our food and take it home. We've been going there for YEARS because the food is reasonably priced and fresh and hot and tasty. The service is fine. You can tell it's a family owned place because we've seen the kids grow up. There's no long wait. And they adjusted great during the pandemic. This is not the place you go to for that Hong Kong dining, family style table, dim sum, hot tea with tea cups place. The establishment isn't fancy and that's ok. I'd rather the food be good and the establishment be cozy like I'm in someone's home and that is what this place delivers. I like to order plain lo mein and finally a restaurant that doesn't charge for vegetable lo mein when all I'm eating is the noodles. I like to see patrons sitting in the restaurant and eating and today there were two families dining in. As soon as I try the food I'll update my review. So, my food was the best! So let's start with the bad - I've never liked (or frankly, understood) when restaurants don't give priority to the person standing in front of them. I was about to order a general tso lunch special and I was asked to hold on so they could answer the phone. The phone order also asked for a general tso. As I was watching them make the food they made it and bagged it in the order they took the order. Meaning they made a general tso, bagged it up and marked it as a phone order and then I stood there another 2-3 minutes waiting for them to finish making the next one that was for me. The phone order never came in while inwas in there so why not just flip them? Common sense. Anyway as far as the food it's pretty good. Had a nice kick to it, although the sauce was a little sweeter than general tso normally is. Huge portion, I took a picture after I had eaten several pieces of chicken and a couple scoops of rice. So that's nice. The rice is much browner than usual fast food Chinese and has a smoky flavor which I ended up masking with the general tso sauce. Always a great experience at No 1 Chinese. I always call 10-15 minutes before pickup and even when they're busy my food is hot and ready when I get there. I would say this is your typical take-out kind of Mom-n-Pop Chinese restaurant. They're fast, efficient, and most importantly delicious. It's pretty wide inside compared to most Chinese joints with just 6 booth-style tables on either side. It's pretty clean from where I can see. The bathroom could have been put in a better location because it's up front facing the dining room and front door. They're always busy but because I've come know the owner after 20 years of coming here, I think she's pretty nice. Some people would say she needs a hug or isn't that friendly but if you become a regular she'll flash you a smile from time to time. I chalk it up as she's really just super busy and focused on her job. I can see how she can come off as unfriendly. Usually someone with an attitude like that would be a turn off for me but like I said, I've been coming here far too long to care. She's not rude, just focused. =) And sometimes, you'll put up with anything for good good, right?! Maybe I'm only speaking for myself... But anyway.... As far as what I normally order, their Hunan Chicken is the best I've ever ever ever had. Even in NYC this place beats any Hunan chicken on Canal. Their fried rice, I hate to say, does have a lot of onions so I always say "no onions." Another go-to of mine is their fried chicken wings. It's seasoned well and fried to the perfection crispness. Everything else tastes as it should anywhere else. They offer lunch combos for less than $5 and combination played for less than $8. The major downfall about this No. 1 is no delivery. Once upon a time they used to, but guess it never worked out. I suck up the 10-15 min drive to come here when I live across from a Chinese place and drive past 2 or 3 other locations. read more

Five stars in ratings in all Chinese fast food franchise. For some reason, this generic Chinese food take out is better than the rest of the Chinese take out around VB. When I am craving for Chinese take out, this one always satisfies my craving without making me regret eating all that calories. 95% their food always turns out great, any breaded chicken with sauce are tender. Flavoring for food are spot on for a take out, and no matter how many times I order, food still taste as expected, great! Now I know they are not perfect, coz one time they forgot my white rice that comes with the meal, but I often come to this place and mistakes like that usually don't happen. Also I learned to not rush the cooks. I ordered before hand and I arrived much sooner, I could tell that the lady did not want me to feel that I waited too long (witch I wasn't waiting too long) I could tell the cook was feeling pressured that I arrived sooner.. that was the only time that my order did not taste good at all, it was bland. I'd still give them 5 stars and will order Chinese take out from them in the future. read more

Been going here for 10 years. People are friendly. Food is good. I get takeout there often. In particular, the house fried rice is great. The broccoli dishes are great (ie, chicken with broccoli, shrimp with broccoli, etc.). I like their chicken with garlic sauce. Usually with steamed rice. Good egg rolls. All in all, good fast chinese. They pretty much know me on the phone when I order at this point. Seems to be very popular cause there's always people in there.
