This place is right on the oceanfront. The views are wonderful. There is a parking deck and they validate your parking for two hours. After two hours it's $3.00. (The sign inside said it would be $2.00) Upon parking in the parking deck, you have to take the elevator to the 23rd floor. Some of the elevators do not work and you will not be able to get to the 23rd floor to the restaurant. Good luck and I hope you find the right elevator. We had reservations but they were not ready for us. We barely fit in the tiny space where they sat us, so they had to move some of us and then some of us had to move again. I ordered the short rib udon and the soba sushi. Both were meh. The short rib udon was more fat than anything else. The food was also incredibly expensive considering the quality and the portions. The service was ok. I would go back from drinks, but I will definitely pass on the food. read more

I tried there 7 spiced Ahi super delicious and mix of light and bold flavors definitely a new favorite and I also had there Peruvian sushi rolls where that had more fresh and sweet taste and they had a lot of sushi options I pick this one it's little bit different from my normal rolls that I get and this was made on site fresh. The final chapter to close the night was green tea tiramisu and with suprise message, the dessert it self was nice and airy with the caramel sauce they use was amazing good. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with twinkling lights and white poinsettias leading up to the massive, breathtaking oceanfront view 23 floors up! We started off with fried pork dumplings and salted edamame. I ordered a mocktail that highlighted fresh ginger. Followed by a Caesar Salad. It featured baby romaine, shaved Parmesan and small, toasted slices of French bread with a creamy Caesar dressing. My choice for the next course was a Spider Roll with tempura fried crab, avocado, shrimp and lobster salad and eel sauce. I give it an A. My son had the Scallops served with kale ravioli. They were supposed to be jumbo scallops but were far from it. The portion was small in general. The pasta was under done. Let's give it a C. My daughter had the Half Chicken. It was cooked well. The gnocchi was "pad Thai gnocchi" and it wasn't really giving that flavor profile. We will give it a B. My grandson had the bento box. It included burger slider, delicious French fries, celery and carrots. He was very happy. This was a very expensive meal. My family grabbed a reservation on a Saturday, and I can totally understand things like rushing waiters, the kitchen being in the weeds and food being late. But none of that was happening here. We had a beautiful view of the full moon over the ocean. Gorgeous views. The front of the restaurant was full of life and the restaurant is gorgeous. Great vibes. Then we got the waiter, a disheveled man with a notepad (again, it's Saturday. I've worked in restaurants, it can get crazy. But he was slurring his words and slamming his hands down on the table as he talked and it freaked me out.). We begin ordering drinks and apps. The son of a gun is nice, but nothing exciting. The stinger mocktail is weirdly savory but I liked the rising sun cocktail. 3/5 The apps came: my husband's chicken yakitori and my son's miso, which was so salty none of us could take more than two sips. My husband will eat food so it isn't wasted and he just couldn't do it. We weren't the only party that complained about it either. 1/5 But where's my app? My husband got the miso cod for our Swiss plate and the swordfish. Cod: bland! And look at those vegetables, not a speck of salt or pepper it tasted like frozen veggies from a bag. The swordfish also had no seasoning and the broccolini was overcooked. My husband eats everything given to him but he didn't want to finish his meal. 1/5 As for my son's children's yakitori meal? This is that one place I am going to tell you to book WAY in advance for a good table, like 2-3 weeks in advance--at least. Service: 10/10. We were very well looked after and our server had us in fits of laughter each time he came to the table. It's always a blast when we come here and the staff are always friendly. Drinks: 8/10. I didn't like that the bar stools couldn't move aside and Im glad I got the corner because that was where all the table and arm space was available. Food was just okay. I would recommend getting their featured Ahi Tuna nachos - it was a special the time when we went. The flavors on the nacho and tuna was...perfect. I loved the kick of flavor that it had too. Back again! We were there for a office dinner this time and of course one of our favorite places to get together is this. Once you get your car valet, you get in and there is this grand wall decoration, and then you use the elevator to go to the 23 rd foot I guess. There are other options for parking too. Came here with low expectations based on what I've heard from friends and glad I did because their reviews matches our experience. Views of the beach are nice, of course. But service and price for food versus the quality, not worth it. We had the weirdest experience with our server. She started out by giving us water but disappeared. 45 minutes later, a new server came by to tell us the other one had to go home and she'd be taking over. But she came to us with weird energy and just rubbed us the wrong way. And towards the end of the night, we saw our original server was still in the restaurant so what was that even about?! It took 50 minutes from the start of our reservation to put drink orders in, at that point we put all food orders in as well. The food wasn't terrible but most of it was not great. Patrick was our server in the bar area and James helped us out as well both were fantastic. Also the bar turned into a club after 10pm with a DJ who was 10/10. We came here to celebrate a special occasion. According to their website, reservations are required, and my husband I showed up a little before our 7:30 pm reservation but had to wait until almost 8 pm to be seated. While we waited, I asked the hostess twice if we could grab a drink from the bar, and was told we could not, because we would be seated soon, but then we still waited almost a half hour. We noticed they were taking walk-ins and adding people to a wait list, although the website says reservations are required. Their website also says the dress code is "smart casual", which we followed, but many people were dressed casually in flip flops, baseball caps, athletic shorts, T-shirts with loud designs on them, etc., changing the entire atmosphere. Once seated, we ordered drinks and food, all of which were good. The salmon crudo and rockfish entree were our favorites, well-prepared, flavorful, and plated nicely. However, during dinner, there was a toddler in a high chair repeatedly yelling two tables away, which really hurt the ambiance and was very strange to see during a 9-10 pm timeframe. This was definitely not the experience we wanted for an anniversary dinner, and we were disappointed with their false advertising - the restaurant could have been up front about what to expect, and if it's a casual kid-friendly place, so be it. Today I figured to give another try, maybe the food has improved...??! Unfortunately I'd rate the service a 3: had to wait for more than 5 minutes for the hostess to get to the check-in desk/area.The server seemed rushed when she asked if am ready to order. By this time they already ran out of avocado toast. I ordered the Hong Kong braised pork bao. It was disappointing. The bao's weren't warm and fluffy soft, they were already stiff room temperature when served. The meat was under seasoned, they put raw jalapeños which would have been better pickled (now that's a tip which I could go to the bank with), and there wasn't any sauce, it was very dry. We were originally seated on the inside track and didnt have a great view of the water, but luckily it wasn't too busy and our server Vanity was able to hook us up with a table with a great view. After all, a huge draw to this place is the views. Vanity ended up being an amazing person and helped us everything on the menu. The Firworks Salmon Roll was the best roll I've had in Virginia Beach.
