They sell different Chinese dishes, appetizers, combos, and etc. They have lunch specials also. I got the sweet n sour chicken combo with pork fried rice, a shrimp egg roll, shrimp lo mein , and crab Rangoon. The sweet n sour chicken was ok but it could have been more plentiful. The shrimp egg roll had 1 teeny tiny shrimp playing peek a boo with me, the rest was all cabbage. I enjoyed the crab rangoon. I like that it was a little sweet, it comes with 6 and a dipping sauce. The lo mein was ok, but I wasn't thrilled with the shrimp, but the noodles were good. A few of the shrimp were very fishy. The owner gave us a free tea with our purchase. That was a nice gesture. I hadn't been to this place since I was in high school. We stopped in the other night I had gotten the wings my kid had the ribs and lomein. Ribs were small he said they were kinda dry he mentioned. My chicken looked like they had been lifting weights wasn't good like most Chinese places I've been to. Service was fine the lady who took the order was nice. If you are looking for some cheap Chinese food for a little under $10. China City on Princess Road sure did their thing,I went in and got the lunch special the sweet and sour chicken. The lunch special comes with your meal and a soda at no additional cost. Inside the restaurant was really clean and they had plenty of seats. The customer service was excellent the lady is super friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that the chicken to batter ratio was off I wanted more protein than batter. read more

Tried to feed the economy during all this; ordered BEEF & BROCCOLI, A SWEET TEA, and BEEF Teriyaki sticks. I received chicken and broccoli, burnt black CHICKEN Teriyaki sticks no sweet tea and when I called to rectify I was told to return the burnt food during a pandemic which they can gladly have back but I don't feel like investing any more money into a business that can't own a mistake, they made. My husband and I ordered the general tso and szechuan chicken combos and they were ok. The szechuan chicken was very brightly orange as you can see and the general tso was lightly battered. It didn't have that crisp crunch to their breading like I've had at other locations. I liked their pork fried rice. This place is nasty." feeling but it wasn't super clean either. Ya know, the former being an indication of where surprisingly good food comes from. Not too shabby of a serving for $6. Lunch special garlic chicken served with broccoli was generous in size. While chicken and broccoli appears to be a healthy dish there was just too much flavor to not think that either sugar or MSG was used in making this dish. It's Chinese fast food. No, no, no.....just No! Ordered on Wednesday evening at 6pm, was told 35 min till delivery... I waited an hour - called, they said just a couple more minutes. Waited another half an hour, called.... First tried the food here. I got General Tso Chicken separated the sauce which I always request to any Chinese Resto. What can I say about the food, the servings are descent and the Veggie fried rice is pretty good. Except the sauce for the Tso I kindly dont like it compare to others. This place use to have the best Chinese food in Virginia Beach. But NO MORE Now they have new owners for the past 2 years and the food is Horrible. Pure garbage. All their food is tasteless. No flavor at all. The pork fried rice had no flavor at all. It was very bland and it also taste like it was made weeks ago or longer. Not fresh at all. It was yellow too. Pork fried rice should be dark from using double-thick soy sauce. I also ordered Egg drop wonton soup. The soup was very watery/thin and it also had no flavor. Very poor quality food. These people don't know what their doing. They need to call the old owners to show them how to cook the way they did. I have been going there for over 20 years when the old owners had it. This is our "take out" place of choice. We order from here so much that half the time they finish our order for us; my little one is very, very picky. But, I guess when you are ordering Lo Mein with no veggies and Wonton with only the broth it is kind of obvious. Yes, they make it after you order so you can get it with or without anything you want. My only request is please, please upgrade the egg rolls. They are just average at best. Everything else, well we haven't ordered anything we don't like here. The crab rangoons are stuffed, bbq ribs (especially the boneless) are great and on and on. Oh, and unlike many of the other Chinese delivery places China City doesn't really take an hour to deliver. I am sure there are times it will but every time we have ordered anywhere else it takes over an hour to get our food; a couple times even longer. Here, it normally takes 30 - 45 minutes. read more

So I got this cold or flu everyone has and what helps clear your nasal passages better than hot n sour soup. This restaurant had good reviews for the soup and since the Chinese deliveries close to my house make lousy hot n sour we decided to try it. Man am I glad we did! My new favorite Chinese place! The hot n sour soup was packed with strips of chicken and pork, tofu, mushroom and bamboo shoots. The broth flavoring was awesome with plenty of heat - I asked for it spicy! I could breathe again! Lol ! And a few nights later we decided to try some entrees. I got their chicken curry, it had s great flavor but a bit too many carrots and pepper chunks to be outstanding. The General Tsao my son ordered was very tasty but not too different from other places. However, the wonton soup was delicious and had twice as any wontons. Always walk past this place and once I noticed it saw that a lot of people frequent it. So I went with my dad he got the house special lo mein and I got general tsos both tasted great. Ate the rest of my dish and my rice was hard like other places the next day! I can't tell you how the food actually tastes because I ordered delivery and never received my order. I ordered at 11:30 am and was told it would be 35 minutes. There was a terrible language barrier and ordering was very difficult. When my order wasn't delivered by 12:30, I tried calling to see what was going on. The phone was busy from 12:30-1:30. Seriously--I tried calling multiple times and got a busy signal for a solid hour. I finally was able to get through to a person to ask about where my order was. She said she didn't know so I asked her to call the driver and call me back. I made sure she had my phone number--which she read back to me from caller ID. When I didn't hear from her after 10 more minutes, I called back (and to be honest I was just happy I actually got through on the first time after the phone being busy for an hour). The woman on the phone immediately asked me if I would like to cancel my order because the driver couldn't find my house. I asked why they didn't just call me earlier when he didn't find it and they had my number the whole time. She said oh, sorry. I asked to speak to the manager and she said the manager was off. I don't understand how they can't find my house--the only reason I knew they existed was because they left their menu on the handle of my front door while I was at work one day. Terrible customer service. I paid with a credit card--hopefully they cancel it, I'll have to keep checking. I'm just blown away that they couldn't find my house (when they have been there before), didn't call me to tell me that themselves, their phone was busy for a solid hour, the woman answering the phone never called me back, and her only reply to all of that was oh sorry.
