    Chicken katsu over pad thai.

Highly recommended for your Thai cravings. Keep in mind there are only a few tables indoors, along with about 3 more outside in a patio area. They do not serve alcohol either, so get take out if you prefer to drink with your meal.

Found this place when I was across the street at Sherman Williams. I hopped over across the street to checked this place out for lunch. It's a small quaint place, a little warm inside but the hubs and I was the only one in for lunch, so that helped. The waiter gave us time to look over the menu and we ordered the chicken teriyaki and chicken pad Thai. Chicken Teriyaki- nice flavor, not too sweet. They use chicken thighs which made it flavorful and it came with plenty of rice. Very yum! Chicken pad Thai - was plentiful, made with chicken breast. It had a lot of sauce; which I prefer mine on the drier side. It was also a bit too sweet for me but overall it's still a solid dish. Both dish had great presentation as if you are sitting in a 5 star restaurant...well yeah you are :-) Come try out this spot as they have both Thai and Japanese dishes.

Nice quiet place just off the main road. It was across the street from my hotel. Service was quick and very friendly. I got drunken noodles and Thai tea and they were excellent. There was a large portion and I couldn't finish it all. I'm here for a couple days an hopefully I can make it back before I leave.

Recently I've been craving Pad Thai. It was a night that I couldn't go out to eat because I needed every hour for taxes. So ordering in Thai was a must. Amaz Asian was my choice. It was close, a small business & had been reviewed by friends. My Chicken Pad Thai arrived quickly. But it was packed into much too small a container. The noodles were clumped together & had to be separated to eat. The dish was good but the chicken pieces were completely flat, which was puzzling. The container was marked Mild. I don't remember there being a choice. Mine would have been Medium. Should I ever order again for delivery I would include a lot of special requests. And I think I would choose the Vegetable Pad Thai. I certainly want to give this business another chance.

Small place off shore drive near Little creek Rd. Wouldn't know it was there if the sign on shore drive was not there. Asian fusion menu but when I came here I was craving Thai food. It was completely empty when I went which is a red flag sometimes especially during meal hours. The food came out hella quick and well presented. I was pleasantly surprised it tasted as good as it looked. Not the best pad see ew I've had for the price I paid. I would like to try the other dishes my next visit like the sushi. It was a bit "sticky" in there on a day when it's hot outside which can be uncomfortable for some people.

This restaurant is cute, inviting, cozy. There's a patio sitting area with inspirational decor (you are beautiful inside out) The entrance has cute faux foliage and wicker baskets indicative of the Asian touch/decor. More inspirational reminders are in the foyer/main area (love all, etc) There's an alcove to the side for the dining area, cooled by window AC units which I think adds to the simple charm. I ordered the Massaman curry with chicken, mild. Other protein choices are tofu, pork, beef, salmon, shrimp. Two small notes: It was supposed to be mild, but it lacked another level of spicyness (is this a word?); to me it wasn't even spicy. The sliced carrots in the curry needed to be a little bit tender, they were more on the crispy not cooked side. Wish they were as tender as the potatoes. For dessert, I chose the taro custard. If you're a taro fan, you're in for a treat! Real chunks of taro give that earthy yummy taste. I'd order this custard again, maybe ask for a little sprinkle of coconut milk to bring it up another notch! Can't leave this review without mentioning the great polite service. Appointments were great: napkins and straws were in a cute container, silverware tucked in folded paper napkins, cold tap water served in its own carafe.

Pad Thai w/shrimp. The classics never go out of style. I will definitely order again!

I love this place. The food is amazing. I've been pleased with everything I've ordered. And I want to try everything on the menu. Great service. Beautiful presentation. I am particularly fond of the new private back patio seating. You're away from traffic noise. We actually had the back yard to ourselves. Check this place out!

Second time coming here, the food was just as good as I remembered the first time. It is a small spot, most likely run by a family. Staff members are always kind and if packed may have a little bit of a wait time but your food will always come out nice and hot.

Was in the mood for seafood but passed their sign and decided to try it. I went with the green curry with fried chicken. I don't normally order curry dishes but Amaz Asian Cafe Bistro has changed my mind. I should also add that Pan was helpful and very gracious. Thank you for a nice casual dining experience.

We stopped in for a bite of lunch and were impressed again! This time we had their Thai 'scotch egg' and red curry. One with chicken and the other with crispy tofu. They were both so good, just so so yummy. This place is seriously good! I can not wait to come back!

This place was exactly what I was looking for when traveling to Virginia! Very cute and aesthetic place with amazing food. Truly a hidden gem and surprisingly wasn't busy when we stopped by. The plating was also such a pretty touch. You can tell they pay attention to detail. I wish I lived in the area so I could try everything but I will be coming back!

I wasn't thrilled with the portion, it looked like more than it actually was. But it only looked fuller because it was piled up on top of the rice. The plate looked appealing. The chicken was very bland and it seemed a little questionable when I bit into it. The first 2 pieces I ate were like weird grissle so it turned me off. The shrimp was better, it was ok, but definitely soggier than I liked. The string beans were lacking flavor. I did like the sweet n sour sauce and the yum yum sauce and the noodles were ok. They had a few chicken options, veggies, egg rolls, shrimp, and etc. I wasn't the biggest fan of this food unfortunately. But people were buying it. I don't see me buying it again, but it wasn't the worst I've ever had. Meh!!

They are an Asian fusion restaurant, but they offer Burmese dishes. I was excited to try them out because I've never had Burmese cuisine. I'd like to believe Mommy Mom may be the first Burmese restaurant in Hampton Roads, but I can't be sure. At the least, this is, for me, the first time I've come across a Burmese restaurant locally. During my first visit I ordered the following: spring rolls for an appetizer; and for my entree, Kyae Oh (Pork Noodle Soup), which is a noodle soup with vermicelli noodles, quail eggs, tofu, pork meatballs, mustard green in a clear pork broth. The spring rolls were a safe option, but nonetheless excellent, as I've had them at other Asian-oriented restaurants. The Kyae Oh looked appeasing on the menu and tasted fantastic (it kind of reminded me of the Philippines' sinigang) when it arrived at my table. Both items arrived quickly upon ordering and my server (who was also Mommy Mom's owner/operator) was kind, gracious and was always smiling. I enjoyed my initial visit and decided to return as soon as possible. Sadly, though, I didn't get around to returning until October, but I still enjoyed a fantastic meal and excellent service from the same owner. During my October visit I had fried dumplings as an appetizer and followed that up with Ohn Noh Khow swae (Coconut Noodle), which are egg noodles in a chicken curry & coconut milk soup base and boiled egg. The dumplings were excellent - fried perfectly and had a great crunch. The Ohn Noh Khow was excellent, too. Considering it was my first time trying this entree, I didn't know how it was supposed to taste, but I enjoyed the combination of curry and coconut milk. The egg noodles meshed well with the soup base and the chicken was tasty and tender. The only thing I noticed is that the Ohn Noh Khow seemed to be a lighter portion than the Kyae Oh I had a few months earlier. I hope that Mommy Mom wasn't already forced to cut back portion size. After two visits, I feel Mommy Mom is a fantastic place. Their facility is clean and organized, its owner is kind, polite and helpful, and he can obviously cook good food. I enjoy Burmese cuisine because of this and look forward to many future visits! Thank you, Mommy Mom! JV

I loved the clean and modern decor of the restaurant. My server was super friendly and brought over the menu. I knew I wanted the Wonton in Hot Chili Oil but I also wanted to try the Dan-Dan Noodles here, because I wasn't a fan of them at the other location, so I ordered both of those along with Salt & Peppered Prawns. The food was served fairly quickly. I started with the Wontons but there was something in the chili oil that made my mouth extremely tingly and numb. I normally get a slight tingly feeling when I eat them but this was intense. I couldn't even finish it. The Dan-Dan Noodles were incredible though! They had the perfect amount of flavor and spice. The Salt & Peppered Prawns were good, but I probably won't order them again. The flavors were great but the seasoning is only on the shells. I found myself rubbing the de-shelled shrimp on the seasoned shells to give them some flavor. I did attempt to eat them with the shells on but I wasn't a fan. You really can't go wrong at Judy's! The staff were incredible and the food is good!!! I still prefer the Chesapeake location but I'm glad I was able to stop in and try the food out at this location as well.

I don't like that they keep the tails on the shrimp even though it's in the ramen. I also had salmon rice balls as well as Shumai. The shumai was good and so were the rice balls, but never having had rice balls, they weren't what I was expecting. I expected them to have meat in them but it was just rice with salmon flavored powder. We also added hot green tea to our meal. While not anything special, I do like to end my meal this way. The service was pretty good but we didn't like that our waitress stood next to our table from the moment we sat down. We felt pressured to hurry up and order, and it just made things awkward. She was very attentive though. This restaurant is your typical local Japanese style restaurant. Very authentic in its feel and decor - nothing fancy, basic service. But if you like more authentic type dishes vs chain restaurants, I think this is a place to try! Oh, I will also add this place was alot less expensive than places like Domoishi! I give it a 3 star because I feel neutral about it - not because anything was super wrong about it!
