I texted him in September as I had several things lined up that needed installed and repaired. It was a few days before he responded but he did and explained that he had been working on a big project. He came out on 9/20 to do the work. One of the projects was to remove a light fixture and install two mini pendant lights. These are two separate fixtures with chain links from the ceiling to the actual light encasing. This was the last project of the day and he did a great job of changing out my old light to this updated look. With one exception. He called me in to look at them and I noticed one was hanging shorter than the other. When I mentioned it he said "No, it's correct." I didn't want to be rude and go get a tape measure to ensure that it was correct (I will in the future). After he left I measured and it was 1/4" shorter. To some this might not seem like much but it is noticeable. When he was leaving he commented that my house could use quite a bit of work (he was tactful) and I agreed. I could tell he was soft selling me for future larger projects. That was fine as I would like to hire a small business to do the work when I'm ready. We discussed a few more projects for his next visit and he left. Fast forward to 10/19. I sent a text that the needed to fix the light and why. He responded and asked if the light fell. I reiterated that the light on the right was shorter. It's now 11/14. I have yet to hear back from him. I'm in sales, if I did something incorrectly I own it and do the best I can to fix the problem. Especially if I want future work and bigger projects. When you fail to even respond it is highly unprofessional. I will have to pay a different handyman to fix the issue now.

We recently needed troubleshooting for our home theater system and my husband made numerous attempts to reach someone at Empire for assistance. Calls were not returned and when he did manage to speak with someone about a service appointment, all he could get was "maybe we can stop by on Friday". Not exactly what we expected given the money we initially spent. Needless to say, no one showed up on Friday. We ended up finding another company that not only returned our calls, they sent a tech out a few days later who quickly resolved our issue. Then he went through our system and pointed out some optimizations that, honestly, should have been made during the installation. When you invest in Control4, any updates/changes have to be made through a dealer, so it's extra annoying when the dealer you purchased through no longer wants your business. We look forward to working with our NEW dealer to install additional home automation and home theater components.

    Not sure about the "No job too small" claim…read more We had a great initial experience with them when they upgraded our Wi-Fi gear and ran Cat6 Ethernet wiring through our house. Nice work, professional, great customer service. Then... not so much. I called them a couple of years later, following post-storm home renovations (thanks, Gulf Coast weather), to get Wi-Fi working again and re-run Ethernet cables. Over the next couple of weeks, when I'd call to follow up, Kimberley would tell me that "the GM is working on the proposal," but never got return calls. Ghosted. Finally hired an independent IT guy to make the fixes, as well as for some followup reconfigurations on the Wi-Fi gear.

    Buyer Beware!! I hired George Grant to install 2 TVs, surround sound, and a security system on a…read morerecently purchased home that I was remodeling. I spent a total of $9533.14. George is very personable and was very responsive at first. However, when it was time to install, there were delays and he/his co-worker left messes behind. This was aggravating but I tolerated it as I needed to get everything up and running. A few months after installation, I had an issue with my TV and I learned that the TV that I purchased through Grant Elite Installations was not what I received. I then examined all my equipment and learned that most of it was not what I had ordered and WAS OF LESSER QUALITY!! I contacted Mr. Grant and he said he would make it right saying it was a distributer problem. I emailed again a few weeks later and he again stated it was the distributors fault. He still didn't refund the difference. I filed in small claims and won a judgement of $2203.95 plus costs and interest. See photos. I urge everyone that left a 5 star review to look at your product - since he did it to me, he probably did it to you!

They were very professional, made sure to work with me on the exact options on the TV mount and how it would be mounted (ie - could they hit a stud and get dead center on the wall). I noticed that they also tested the mount to make sure how secure it was prior to adding the TV (even though it was a fairly small 43 inch TV). Also very polite and made sure to vacuum up the small amount of dust from drilling into the wall. I will definitely use them again.
