One of the best spots for dessert/ice cream here in Fresno! My fiance and I have gone here several times and are always satisfied. It has got to the point of us waiting for the next month's flavors. This review is long overdue, but Nummy Yummy deserves high praise and recognition for is deliverance to excellent and tasty dessert for the Fresno community. We went here again just a few days ago and it still hits the spot. The menu typically rotates ice cream flavor every month. Not only ice cream, but they also have warm taiyaki! This place reminds me of SomiSomi chain, but to be honest, I think Nummy Yummy is better. All of the staff here are super nice, patient, and always willing to answer your questions. I've come here a lot and have yet to come across a grumpy staff member (haha). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is in the corner of the RN Market plaza. Nummy Yummy is honestly such a cute local spot. It has a real fun and vibrant vibe which makes it easy to see why so many people love coming here. I like the simplicity of the menu and that everything is made fresh right in front of you. I am completely set on their taro ice cream every time im here. The pricing is decent for what ya get. The service is friendly even though it usually seems to be just the owner and one other person working hard behind the counter. It gets very busy the wait time can be around 10 to 15 minutes sometimes but I never really mind because the place is so charming. My only wish is that the inside was a bit larger but there is plenty of outdoor seating to sit and enjoy your treat. We don't really have anything like this in Fresno that makes fresh Taiyaki. We live coming here to get a cold sweet treat! They make the Taiyaki in house and is made to order so you know it's fresh. They are always coming out with new soft serve flavors, one of my fav is their milk tea flavor which I hope they bring back! We got their pandan and ube swirl soft serve and it was such a great combo! Love the flavors together. The Taiyaki is soft and crispy. Super yummy to pair with the your order. I am here at least once a week! The ube seems to be a regular flavor and it's solid--sweet, creamy, with that signature root-y/starchy richness. Stains your tongue purple lol! No complaints there. The matcha, though, is probably one of the more accurate tasting matcha treats I've had in Fresno. It actually tastes like matcha! earthy, slightly bitter, and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, it's not always available since they rotate flavors monthly, which is a bit of a letdown if you're specifically going for that. I've also tried the pistachio soft serve during a previous visit. It's not bad, but it does taste artificial-- reminds me of tasting perfume. Still enjoyable, just not something I'd go out of my way for again. Portions are on the smaller side. Would've liked a bit more since it's easy to finish pretty quickly! (Addicting) I usually get the taiyaki (fish) with red bean filling. The red bean is on the sweeter side but has a nice consistency(not too gritty which I like.) Occasionally, the taiyaki feels slightly undercooked or maybe just not enough time to cool down from how busy the shop gets--but still decent overall. For two of these Taiyaki cups is about $15. So impressed to see that the Fresno/Clovis area has its own taiyaki ice cream and dessert place. I did not know about this location until recently (I was having lunch nearby)- it's definitely the perfect treat after your meal. I've visited many other taiyaki places in CA before and remember the menu concept being very similar to each other. I believe the menu rotates its flavors, but not too sure how often. Very easy to read, you choose your style: taiyaki with cup, taiyaki alone or cup alone. And from there, you pick your ice cream flavor and filling! There is also a second menu with the warm taiyaki dessert alone, with its own selection of filling. The worker was very kind and took my order quickly. It only took a few seconds to get my ice cream but I can imagine a wait when this place gets busy in the summer. There are about three tables inside for you to enjoy your dessert, but I would highly recommend to the business to have some standing tables outside! I would've really loved to enjoy the ice cream as soon as I received it. We ended up walking around the plaza for a bit before some of the ice cream melted. If I could give some advice, eat it quick! I believe the warmth of the taiyaki may have melted my ice cream quicker than I expected. Still very delicious. It's a great location as there isn't much competition for a sweet treat around. Probably my favorite taiyaki to get from here are the ones with filling in them. So far, my favorites are the custard, cheese, Nutella, and pizza one (which tastes waaaaaaay better than a hot pocket). I'm not much of a person who likes filling but the taiyakis taste so good with them. The only one I haven't liked so far is the red bean paste one but maybe because I asked for it to be really minced or something like that.
