Very friendly staff. I went early and could see people in the back busy baking and cooking. It doesn't matter what I purchase because everything is delicious. In fact, Bakery Delight, can be busy at peak times. Definitely worth the wait. Bright lighting from large pane windows, this is perfect because you see all their "Delightful" treats. Moon cakes still available.

No ambiance, no seating...just good food to go! Service is fine. I reviewed once before, but adding another. Gotta say it again...their roast pork & bbq pork by the pound are so worth it. Wanted onion bun (a fave) but they didn't have it, but was able to snag some egg custards. Soooo good! Dumping, sesame ball, bbq pork bun & pastry are all great too. Wish we had a huge Chinese bakery like in SF, but we're lucky to have these folks here in Fresno. Go support them!

A Fresno staple. The pineapple bun (doesn't have pineapple in it) is my favorite, tastes but not too sweet. And for savory the bbq pork bun is great! A little on the sweet side. One of those classic hole in the wall spots. Service is all about business being how busy they are, but they are all nice.

Very fast, a little pricey. Great service. The food was just a little bit more on the bland side for me. I got the roast duck bowl with added pork belly, I think it was like $25. The roast duck is decent, not bad but I've had better. Roast pork is average. But great place for quick roast duck and pork.

Amazing customer service. Place was clean, food fresh and displayed nicely. Great prices for quality! Roasted duck was $40 for whole ducked chopped, meaty and juicy! Roasted pork was nicely seasoned as well. Def think this business takes customers and reviews into consideration. Menu is more modernized/updated now and they post new creations with limited amounts on their instagram. Stopped by to try their ube cinnamon roll today. Remember cash only!

The best bbq pork buns in town. I ordered a dozen and they gave me an extra one for free. Super friendly and fast service.

Bakery Delights offers humble Chinese pastries for cash only. Service was speedy yet friendly. The pastries are notably better earlier in the day as they stop being replenished. As they're on displayed for hours, the fried items end up being a tad greasy and limp. *Fried Pork Dumpling: was crispy and golden when I first visited but subsequent orders were oily and soft. The meat filling was salty, sweet and umami with an occasional juicy, savory bite of mushroom. There could have been a bit more meat filling inside though. *Egg Tart: the crust was mostly flakey but the center was soft from the oil. The custard was mildly sweet with subtle creaminess. The flavor wasn't the most pronounced I've tried and I wished there was greater browning on top. They're a bit small for $3. I'll still come back if I have a few spare dollars and craving for a meat dumpling but I understand that it's a gamble on the quality.

I've been here many times dating back to childhood that I'm surprised I have never written a review on this place. It has been a tradition of my mom and I to shop at RN Asian grocery market (back when it was right next door) and going to this bakery after. I love it for the nostalgia and the moon cakes * insert drool here From my understanding, correct me if I'm wrong, they are the only Chinese bakery in town. Popular items are the steamed or baked pork buns , my family lives for the steamed pork buns especially in cold weather. They also have guava pastries, sesame balls and egg tarts. All of which are delicious. While picking up a usual order of steamed buns to take to my parents I thought to try the bbq pork plate $12.99. (Pictured) charsui pork served with a ton of rice and broccoli. Delicious in its on right however nothing to go running home about. 3/5 stars for me. Wish it came with a noodle option or a dipping sauce . Service was good, a quick in and out establishment. No seats to dine in. My only con is it's CASH ONLY. It has always been cash only which can be a little inconvenient. I just have to remember to get cash back from RN market and make my way to this bakery to continue my little market/ bakery tradition.

We have been coming here for years and it has improved so much with the new owners! The food is fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and quick. The ambiance is typical of a Chinese bakery. There are a couple of tables and chairs, no music,Chinese spoken in the kitchen. Such a delight!

I don't know if they're reading their reviews but every time I try them I feel like they're fixing the previous complaints I've had. Last time I complained that they weren't giving enough meat in their buns I'd rather pay more for more meat and a year later--trying them again, they giving more meat in their buns. And really tasty btw. I give them big props. They're doing great. I love a place that grows, especially with their customers.

Bakery delights has been a STAPLE since I was in elementary! Breads and pastries are as good as ever, with some cute new additions! Younger staff managing the front have made a friendly impact and are probably behind the innovation :D I believe they're still a CASH only establishment, so make sure you come prepared! Our favorites are the baked BBQ pork buns, egg tarts, and plain rice cakes. I've had famous buns at chinatown SF and NY, but I still prefer my local chinese bakery!

A bad batch of bbq pork bun lacking love and flavor. Sad.

A bad batch of bbq pork bun lacking love and flavor. Not enough gelatin with the pork for a better texture. Doughs dry, not bouncy. More bread than filling. Just sad. And you sell these for $4??

    Kevin T.

Just thought I put a post on the pork bun. It's a little too salty and if you want your sodium intake to be high with a high blood pressure then it's for you. I hope this can do some changes on the recipe, please make it lesser salty, was not only my opinion but many others also. Beside this , everything is delicious with a 4 to 5 star from me

Ask the Community - Bakery Delights

Can someone post photos of the current menu/price list for flour rolls, buns, egg tarts, roast pork, roast duck, and cha sui? Thanks.

Can I order ahead of time for like 40 baked pork buns?

    Certainly!

    Do they sell baguettes?

They don't sell baguettes. They sell bbq pork buns, coconut buns, onion buns, pinaaple buns, bbq ducks , bbq pork, etc. mostly Chinese buns.

    Do they have roast ducks?

Tiff not sure but they have a few options. Good stuff if you feel like getting out of the box 📦 all in all give 'em credit for coming back, love the bao. Good luck to the family. I hope to stop by next time I'm in Fresno. Happy New year

Have they started making rice rolls and egg custard tarts yet? (10/6/21)

    They wont be selling those.

    Do they still take cash?

    Yes

Omg when are they gonna open? Been craving pork buns!!!!

They opened last Saturday, September 18, 2021!!!

    Are they open yet?

Yes!!!! They finally reopened!! Fresh bao!! You have to order at the door.

Has anyone been by there recently wondering if they're open yet?

I went to R&N last week. Sadly it's not open yet.

Has anyone had the Moon Cakes? My daughter loves the movie Over the Moon and wants to try one. Dont know where to find them other than this result that popped up.

You can find Moon cakes at SF Market on the corner of Kings Canyon and Willow, by the bakery/bread section, next to the produce. They don't always have them, but I know they carry them.

    Are they currently open 2/1/21?

No. There is a sign saying they're not going to open until they get vaccinated.

Anyone know when they will open? It's Nov 3rd 2020.

I went by to check on 12/19/20 to see if they were open. There was a sign that said they won't open until next year.

    Are they open?

Not until SIP ends per the sign in the door of the bakery. 09.03.2020.

    Have they reopened since covid?

    Nope

    When will they reopen?

    TBD per SIP

    Is the bakery open again?

    Not yet

Do they still make the mochi with red bean and coconut flakes?

    I haven't seen it there.

Every ingredient blended well together without it being overly sweet. My husband is a scone fan and we have been on a quest for the best scone in Fresno and so far the strawberry scone from Culture Bakehouse is in the lead! The morning bun was good but missed the mark on the chewy caramelization and orange zest that characterizes a morning bun. The bagels were well executed and I enjoyed them the next day, toasted with a slab of cream cheese and eggs. The coffee cake was also a favorite and not overly sweet. The restaurant was extremely busy, so I do recommend making reservations ahead of time. The service could have been a little better, but considering how packed it was, it felt more overwhelmed than rude. One thing to know ahead of time: Diet Cokes come in cans, not fountain drinks, so there are no refills. The biggest disappointment for us was the limited menu selection that day. There were mostly sandwiches and not a lot of variety. I ordered the quiche, which ended up needing extra sauces on the side because it felt a little plain on its own. My husband ordered the French toast, and that was actually very good. Ambiance was alright - a little cramped but the live music gave it a touch of class. Overall, I'd still recommend trying this place, just maybe not on a major holiday when the menu is limited and the restaurant is packed. I'd be willing to give it another shot on a normal weekend because I have a feeling the regular menu probably offers a much better experience.
