We stopped by this incredibly charming cookie shop and was blown away by by the options and how incredibly good these cookies are. We tried the sugar cookie, double chocolate, and the peanut butter cookies and the were all amazingly delicious! If you love cookies, give this shop a try. My mom got me a dozen cookies for my Birthday. Something about them just tasted very off, like almost chemical like. Idk if they just cleaned a surface and made them on it, or their ingredients have changed over the years. I wouldn't recommend their cookies based on this. My mom said their customer service was good though, but I think they need to revisit what's in their cookies to give this off putting taste. read more

We visited this place for the first time. As soon as we came in my daughter said "smells good Mom" The place is nice and the worker is friendly. They have the cookies showcase and we were the next in line to order. When we were getting out, there was a big line of customer already. So, we got a Dozen of mix cookies. Most of them were chocolate chip. We got 2 snicker doodle and 2 of sprinkles. As soon as we got out we started munching on them. Let me tell you!! The sprinkle one that I was eating melt in my mouth. Some of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had! I came here at the suggestion of our Community Manager, Nicola B., who has been raving about their chocolate chip cookies. After one bite, I was sold and quickly jumped on the Hungry Bear Cookies bandwagon. The cookies are so soft and chewy, with a subtle crunch. The dough has a buttery texture and caramelized sweetness. If I was to make an educated guess, the ingredients I am tasting include a ting of salt, butterscotch, vanilla, generous amounts of sugar, and lots of butter. And the chocolate chips just melt in your mouth. I call this perfection! There are other good varieties of cookies but I would recommend trying the chocolate chip and any variation of them first. I have yet to find another cookie shop that makes them better. It has always proven to be a smart choice to follow the suggestions and recommendations of our local CMs. And Fresno County has a really good one in Nicola B. I have tried a good handful of local cookie shops and bakeries. For the chocolate chip cookie, none of them can touch Hungry Bear Cookies. read more

Sooo good! I love that we have a bomb local cookie place to enjoy. I don't know how or why I slept on this place for so long. I was at Fig Garden and remembered seeing reviews of this place, so popped in to get a half dozen to try them. They're limiting capacity inside to one party at a time. There's plenty of space to wait outside, too. The cookies were so good that we came back the next weekend! On our second visit we got a dozen. I didn't pay too much attention to the pricing but a dozen came out to $14. This time we tried more options - chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, peanut butter chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, and snickerdoodle. Y'all know I'm a chocolate girl so the double chocolate chip ones are my favorite. What they all have in common, though, is that ideal cookie texture - soft on the inside, chewy on the outside. They have some other classics like the oatmeal raisin, as well as more intricate ones like frosted cookies. The classics are the best IMO. The chocolate chip is the closest to the platonic ideal I've ever had. Both times we were served by young assistants who were quick and friendly. They were still adding freshly baked cookies to the pile both times, too. Really happy we finally tried them! The inside was small but you could smell the sweet cookies as soon as you walked in! They had a wide variety of cookies and were super cheap!! It was a Sunday and the other cookie shop in town was closed...and then I remembered I had been wanting to try Hungry Bear Cookies! I immediately hauled it to Fig Garden to satisfy my cookie cravings! The storefront is smaller, but that just means right when you walk in, you are greeted with the sweet smell of fresh baked cookies. I came in around 2pm on a Sunday and they still had a great selection! I am a sucker for sugar cookies and snickerdoodles, so I picked the snickerdoodle and the sugar sprinkle cookies. These cookies are normal sized (aka: smaller than XL cookies you can get elsewhere) and I was pleasantly surprised when the total came out to $2 and some change. Upon first bite, I knew that these might very well be the best sugar cookies I've had. I love it when you can actually taste the butter base in the sugar cookies, and these do NOT disappoint! The cookies I ordered were also on the softer side, which I truly love. The snickerdoodle was also delightful, again with that perfectly baked sugar cookie base. I immediately regretted not ordering more cookies! Next time I am in Fig Garden I will be stopping by to snag more cookies. They are just too good! Hungry Bear Cookies are so good. I had forgotten about this place, I used to stop here when I was younger. They made the perfect cookie back then and they still do! My daughter had asked to get a cookie while shopping and so we stopped in. I forgot how amazing their cookies we're! They come out nice and warm too. I ended up walking out with 5 dozen cookies, lol! No, we didn't eat them all but I am sure we could have! That's how yummy they are. I added four dozen to four different gift baskets during the holidays and I took my parents a half dozen. The other half dozen we took home and let's just say they didn't last through the next day. My daughter's agents and manager raved about them. Everyone enjoyed them and couldn't stop eating them.
