Our 8 yr old son loves it and is an orange belt under a year. The instructors are nice and care about the safety of the children.

I've been training here since August 4, 2025, that's the first day they opened. I have trained at…read morefive or six different jiu-jitsu schools in Austin prior to this school. I have been in the martial arts for 25 years and was an amateur fighter for the Marine Corps MMA team in 2008 for context. I'm now a 41 year-old, fat old blue belt, I'm retired. This is just a hobby for me. I train the 6 AM classes with Professor Luke Griffith primarily. The owner, Professor Gordon Ryan is there several days a week for the early classes as well. Professor John Danaher currently teaches the 7am Advanced Gi class. The No Gi Pro Classes start at 9am and they have no Gi classes all day from there. I do my best to attend the 930am on Saturday and Sunday when I have the energy, that is taught by Professor Helena Crevar, or by Professor John Danaher when she is out of town competing or doing seminars. The facilities are perfect. I have zero complaints there. The showers are amazing. The mat space is perfect and there is a spring board underneath the mats for more cushion and absorbing falls and throws. The coaching staff is world class. Everyone is the best in their division in the world. Which is crazy and unheard of. But most importantly, they are patient and kind throughout their teaching. I have trained with professional fighters before in the past at other gyms, just because someone is a pro doesn't mean they are good at coaching or that they have the patience to teach. I'm very appreciative for the amount of patience these instructors have for myself and my training partners. I would be here even if my coaches weren't world champions. Their patience and professionalism is what keeps me coming to class every day. I'm a big guy, so it's hard to find a uniform that fits me comfortably but for some reason the company they are working with (Breakpoint) has been a perfect fit for my body type. I'm very fortunate for that as well. The gi they sell is a pearl weave so it won't shrink from washing or become too stretched during training. It's a good quality gi. I'm very impressed with it. The cost for training here currently is very competitive compared to the other schools in the same location and area of Austin. Almost all the schools in Austin are moving to the $250-$400 range. There is a school right down the street that is charging $400 a month. So this school is actually more affordable than local alternatives at the moment. I really appreciate the schedule that is available to me as a student. I love that I can train seven days a week. I really feel like I'm getting my money's worth here. I can't think of any cons or disappointments in training here. Every day is a blessing and I'm very fortunate to have this opportunity.

It's got a nice vibe, there's always random people from out of state or out of country who came to Austin just to train here. A lot of local school head instructors train here too It's very high level, but there's a ton of white belts too Facility is very nice, especially the bats and bathrooms If there are cons it would be the price, but then again it's a lot cheaper than attending a seminar from one of the coaches I also don't love how gi based it is, would've expected a lot more no gi classes . But if John and gordan say I need to train in the gi, who am I to argue

This is a review of the kid's birthday package here…read more When my son told me that he wanted to be a ninja, the Asian parent in me started questioning my child-rearing abilities. Why not aspire to be a noble Samurai? What would Confucius say? After some talking, I discovered that what he really wanted was to be a Ninjago. Whew! Now, this a modern science problem--how to turn a kid into a Lego. The suburban mom in me combed the Internet for the perfect ninja birthday party theme. We came upon this location and I called to schedule a birthday party. I spoke with Martin, who was very helpful. He gave me a tour of their large, clean space and help me customize the birthday package. He was extremely helpful. We decided to have a bounce castle to pen the kids as guest were arriving. After all the kids have arrived, Martin and his team started with a short safety course to use when being approached by strangers. Next, swords were brought out and the little ninjas were trained in Kendo. Finally, they got to put on headgear and there was a sword fighting tournament. The parents and I were amazed at how Martin was able to capture and hold a bunch of 5-8yr olds attention for over and hour. We were really impressed and the kids are still talking about the party a week later! The most memorable part for my son was the fact that got to be the co-teacher and show off his moves by breaking a wooden board. He was very proud! Sword training-complete! Now, how am I going to find a place that teaches the ninja art of poisoning?

Children's classes run four days a week Mon - Thu 4:15-5:00pm for kids ages 4-6 and Mon-Thu 5:00-6:00pm & Sat mornings at 9 for kids 7and up . Adult classes are daily and staggered with multiple training times to fit your needs so if you can't show up for BJJ at noon for example there is also an evening class you can attend. Judo ,Muay Thai and Boxing are set on various days and like the Jiu-Jitsu class there are usually more than one class on the specific days set for those classes . This place has the most patient and very well rounded instructors around Austin. They take the time to go over technique and fundamentals for all new comers. My son joined when he barley turned 6 and is now 7 and loves every moment of his experience here and plans to make it a lifetime sport. Sean and Jillian Cooper owners of Cooper MMA are extremely accomplished individuals and well rounded in MMA with several years and certifications under their belts. They are great at getting shy kids to focus and really unleash their full potential. Coach Eric is outstanding and an extremely patient instructor. Never once has he had a negative reaction when someone isn't understanding something but instead through positive reinforcement redirects the kids until they are successful at whether he is trying to teach them even if he has to take them aside individually for a second and go over the fundamentals and techniques until they get it rite. Coach Duce and Coach Scott are equally supportive and great with children and have the upmost interest in genuinely helping you understand how to properly defend yourself wether it be boxing or Jiu-Jitsu . These instructors make this place the amazing experience that it is and truly love what they do. Cooper MMA is giving free one week trials and discounts to those who have multiple people in one family sign up at a time . I highly recommend coming in to try a free week to see if you like it and I guarantee if you decide to stick with it you will notice a big difference in you or your child's confidence. Everyone needs to have a level of self awareness and self defense at some point in their lives it's never too late . They have currently moved to a new location at 12129 N FM 620 RD SUITE 330 AUSTIN, TX 78750 And are currently finishing up construction but will have two showers two restrooms and a lot more when complete . It is still a functional gym and classes are in full swing . 512-335-0800 INFO@COOPERMMA.COM

Very interactive and felt great after the first session. I signed up for a 3 month program twice a week as I really wanted to lick the hip pain problem. Stretchlab is kind of in the middle of the spectrum of therapy. With massage, you lie there as the massage therapist works their magic, so pretty passive except for the occasional ouch. Yoga, you do all the work yourself, watching the instructor and following along. Stretchlab is somewheres in between in that it is highly interactive, and you actively participate. Lots of feedback back and forth. That's a pretty good aspect of the Stretchlab approach. My Stretch Master was Meaghan and she is absolutely fantastic. Very well versed in the mechanics of the body as well as diet and general wellness. Besides that, she's a great person to talk with. There were a couple of times when Meaghan was out of town and I was assigned another StretchMaster. They were just fine, but having the same person work on you the whole time holds a lot of value as they get to know you much better. The sales pitch can be tiresome as it's always present. I would guess StretchMasters are incentivized to extend memberships. I used to be in sales so it didn't bother me too much. That being said, the service is not inexpensive. I get that as the folks there seemed pretty darn capable and ought to be paid a good wage. You just need plenty of budget if you plan on doing this a lot. Did it fix my hip pain? It turns out that trying to fix hip pain is very complex. Lot's of mechanics and many different approaches are needed. I think Stretchlab did help quite a bit, but it's been in combination with an aggressive exercise and training program at my gym, and a pretty strict anti-inflammatory diet. My journey continues.

Stretch Lab requires a 31-day notice to an email address (customerexperience@stretchlabslx.com) that is nowhere to be found in the member portal. I had to call the studio to even get the email. After canceling, you're still forced to pay for the full next month with no refunds. The portal doesn't show my billing history, but my bank statements certainly do. Looking through other reviews, I'm not the only one dealing with this frustration. Mike Nuzzo (CEO), Verdine Baker (President of Stretch Lab), and Gavin O'Connor (Chief Legal Counsel) -- job well done on designing contracts that maximize revenue while leaving franchise owners to deal with the angry customers. Very disappointing experience. Avoid if you want straightforward cancellations.
