Overall, absolutely incredible. The food was very very good. Everything is homemade and tastes fantastic! The menu has a wide range of various sandwiches, including hot, cold, and all types of meat. They also have different bread variations, which are very good. In addition to the food, the chips that they serve on the side are absolutely amazing. The only downside is that they don't give very many. The prices are decent. Definitely not a cheap fast food meal, but also not as much as going to a sit down restaurant. The service was quick, and the people were very nice. The ambience is cool, but they don't have any indoor seating. In the summer it's fine, because there are picnic tables outside, but in the winter, there is really no place to sit other than your car. It would be nice if they had a heated tent or something, but the food is so good. I can't complain too much. read more

I've been wanting to try Nunnu's since they opened and I'm sorry it took me so long! Great menu selection of sandwiches, plus salads and sides. The bacon rancher brioche sandwich was really good. I'm not sure what kind of magic Nunnu's uses, but somehow the sandwich wasn't soggy after a 15 minute drive home. I was super happy with the Cobb salad, too. Not only was everything well-prepared, the portion sizes were generous and the staff was super friendly. Also, I highly recommend the chocolate chunk cookies - perfect way to end a delicious meal. read more

The Cuban melt is their number one seller and that is what got me in the door. It is the best #$@&$# Cuban I have ever had and probably one of the top three sandwiches I've ever had in my life. Better than expected quality coming from this tiny roadside sandwich shop. It's a lot of traditional items plus more than a dozen creative selections like The Munroe (no meat), the Little Italy bistro chicken sandwich on brioche, and the Cuban Melt was a fabulous pork-fest and a very generous gut bomb. This place is great! We went after my daughter's soccer game and it was definitely worth the stop. The sandwiches were excellent. I ordered the Pepperonata which was super! It had a little heat to it which was great! I swapped out the pulled pork and opted for the chicken. The chicken was great quality chicken! I am picky with my chicken and from some places you get grisly pieces mixed in. The bread was nice and fresh and warmed to perfection! Don't forget to order extra potato chips! They are fresh and made right there throughout the day. There are plenty of picnic tables outside to eat, but there is no inside seating. We lucked out that it was a nice warm February day and we're able to eat outside. I definitely recommend this place for a great sandwich. Ordered the chili as well as the tortellini salad to keep at work for this week's lunches. Will update review accordingly! Update: chili was good, hearty, tad sweet if I had to nitpick. Was heading home from work one night and I said to my husband, I wish there was an easy place to stop close to home and just scoop up dinner and he said what about that Nunnu's that you always say you want to try! I wanted to smooch him after that recommendation. I ordered the Cobb salad, no egg and it was enough for two dinners. My husband ordered the parlay which is both pulled pork and chicken, it was HUGE. Had the Cuban today. I understand it is a best seller. It was good but too soggy. Not crispy as I expect in an authentic Cuban sandwich.

There is something to be said about doing something small and doing it with excellence. Nunnu's has a very limited menu but everything we have had is delicious. There are sandwiches and then there are really good sandwiches. Their Cubans is close to perfection. Their chips are fresh and crispy and worth the calories. If you are looking for a delicious filling sandwich you can't go wrong with this place. read more

First visit to this new sandwich shop and it will not be my last. Nice selection of slow-roasted meats with some interesting combinations. Not the run-of-the-mill cold cuts that are available everywhere. Fresh, prepared to order, hot off the grill. Sandwiches come with a side of freshly-made potato chips. Everything was very good. Someone else complained that the prices are a little high relative to the competition. What competition? If you want a foot-long from Subway, go for it. But let's not ask this business owner to go broke selling real food at factory-food prices. read more

Nunnu's makes the best hot sandwiches in Connecticut! I am a huge sandwich guy and have tried SO many in my travels, but whenever I want the very best, I go to Nunnu's. Well worth it to travel to even if you are further away like me. Besides the amazing food, I'm always treated as a friend and valued customer. I can tell that the owner takes great pride in all of his creations and his workmate is cheerful and welcoming at the register. I especially LOVE "The Cuban Melt" and "The Southern", but have tried nearly everything on the menu and have never been let down. If you are lucky enough to stop in when they offer their limited-edition Corn Beef Reuben, get it while it lasts! If you're looking for the perfect sides, each sandwich comes with homemade chips (so good!) and I usually add their amazing Veggie Slaw, or Tomato Bisque.
