Abi's Falafel was really good! I got the chicken kabob platter and a shrimp salad, and both were fresh and full of flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We also tried a few side dishes and enjoyed everything we ordered. The staff was friendly and the food came out fresh. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu. Tried this eatery once again during Trumbull Restaurant week. Outstanding offering of platters, wraps, and even burgers. Never disappointed. Plenty of outdoor seating with evening temps in the 60s. From the moment you walk in the door, the amazing aroma hits you making it hard to decide on which dish to try. The owners were extremely warm and welcoming. We opted for the shawarma platter with the lentil rice. It was served with a side salad, humus and condiments... AND let me tell you.... It did not disappoint! 10/10. My wife and I stopped into Abi's Falafel recently and we were both seriously impressed. This place is such a hidden gem. We ordered the Mixed Grill Platter and the Falafel Platter and everything was absolutely delicious -- super fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The Mixed Grill had perfectly cooked lamb chops, chicken, and kefta. You could taste the spices in every bite, and the meat was juicy and tender. The Falafel Platter was just as good -- the falafel were crispy on the outside and soft inside, with really clean, fresh flavor (not greasy like you sometimes find elsewhere). Everything came with fresh pita, creamy hummus, and a light, refreshing salad. You can tell they care a lot about the ingredients they use and how the food is prepared -- nothing tasted rushed or cheap. The vibe inside is casual and comfortable. You walk up to the counter to order (there's a menu board right above), and they'll bring your food out to your table if you're dining in, or you can take it to go. The restaurant was super clean and well-kept, which we both appreciated. It just felt good being there. The owner and the staff were really friendly and welcoming too -- you could tell they genuinely appreciate every customer that comes through the door. It's always nice when you feel like your business is valued. Prices were very fair, especially considering the portion sizes and the quality of the food. It's also a great spot if you're vegetarian -- lots of meatless options that looked really good too. We will absolutely be recommending Abi's Falafel to friends and family, and we're already planning to come back soon to try even more of the menu. They have the most delicious kebabs, shawarma, salads, falafel, hummus and homemade lemonade to name a few! If you are in mood for some authentic delicious Arabic food, you got to try this place! Having moved from NYC, I wanted authentic, affordable, and most importantly delicious Middle Eastern food. This place is really my go-to now. Everything tastes fresh and portion sizes are fair for the price. I have tried their chicken platter, chicken shawarma sandwich and also lamb salad. All are great. The lamb is very juicy and they give you a good amount. The sandwich is also not dry. I don't know what else to say, but you have to try this place out. Huge fan of this place fir middle eastern food in CT. My go to lunch spot I love the Abi's shawarma. They are usually quick to serve but note if your ordering kabobs its a 20 minute wait which I don't mind since it means they are cooking it fresh. Clean little shop in trumbull you can dine in but I usually take them to go. If your new to Trumbull definitely check this place out I have not had a bad meal yet. read more

Food is excellent so let's get that out of the way. I stop at the Stamford location when I'm in the area and am always pleased there. It's a total hole in the wall with top notch food. Stellar. This location - I'm not sure I'd return. Again, the quality is excellent but getting food out is much more than that. I went for a quick late lunch to find it empty with a couple local women who seemed to know the staff ordering items to go. I was pleased to see alcoholic options available even though I went only to have some baba ghanoush and side items. I waited awhile to order as chit chat was going on with the women and when the guy finally took my order of 3 side dishes - I was really surprised to get a bill of $20. It's your call if what I show in my photo justifies. But, for that price and how the place is set up, more formal than Stamford, I was kinda surprised to have to get up and get my own utensils in the corner. It's a strange combination of takeout and formal but not fitting into either category. So, my beef isn't with the quality of food but if you're going to charge higher prices, then it should be in line with the ambience. Hence, I'm not certain I'd return. I like having nice meals out with not one thought about $, or I like going to hole in the walls. Not some awkward in between stuff. Furthermore, I don't eat out to leave upset and feel the guy should've guided me more appropriately in ordering side dishes like guiding me to the mezze platter or something. But, honestly, I'd just wait to go to Layla's in another location. This little Trumbull plaza has four other food options so no need to give business to one that displeased me.
