Attention Ugg shoe owners! Considering the popularity of Ugg footwear, and the price you pay to own them, maximizing longevity of your footwear via repair might be a consideration. Especially in our current economy. Uggrenew is a company, owned by Ugg. Ugg uses NuShoe to provide Uggrenew services. If you are considering using the services of either NuShoe or Uggrenew, don't. Ugg's service provider, NuShoe, is inept at best. They take your money and deliver nothing in return. The worst part is there's no financial recourse to Ugg, Uggrenue, or NuShoes. Customer service as well as their legal counsel are either purposely non-responsive or non-existent. I recommend using a local cobbler for services as at least you'd have some leverage and recourse doing so. My wife's shoes are lost and she's out of not just the ugg boots, but the $60 in repair service charges. Ugg, Uggrenew, and NuShoes are nonresponsive to all of my attempts to contact them over the last few months to resolve. NUshoe isn't credited by the Better Business Bureau. Non responsiveness is symptomatic of a greedy, non-customer focused company. I guess they are more concerned with their profits, not Customer satisfaction. read more

If I had read the reviews before I sent my shoes in, I would not have sent them in. And after I sent them in I was worried and regretted my decision. However I just received my revived VIVOBAREFOOT geo Chelsea shoes and they look fantastic, really. They received shoes 10/29, there was a problem with my credit card number which I corrected on 10/30 (10 minute wait on phone to speak with someone), then received shoes today 11/29. I emailed them 11/21 to get status update and staff said shoes would ship the following week, that I would receive email when they shipped. I didn't receive shipment email so was surprised to see them today. I'll see how they hold up over the next few weeks. read more

I sent in a pair of Mephisto Douks to this company for refurbishment, and received a ticket confirming receipt and stating to give 4-6 weeks for the shoes to be delivered. It has now been 6+ weeks without any word from them. Emails sent to both the generic Contact Us address and to the individual who sent me the ticket inquiring about the status of the order have now gone days without a reply. Today I spent an hour on hold only to be told to leave a voicemail even though I was calling within operating hours. I understand if there's delays. I understand that customer service is difficult. What I do not understand is lacking the common business sense and courtesy to keep your customers informed, especially when they've taken the time to inquire. A completely disappointing experience, and one that ensures that if I ever get my shoes back from this company, I will not be utilizing their services ever again. Update (7/2): My shoes finally were returned today, over 8 weeks since the company confirmed receipt. Still have received no communication back from them beyond an automated "your shoes are on the way" email. The shoes do look very well repaired, and for that I'm bumping them up a star. I've spent the last month reaching out to them after Ariat recommended them for boot repairs, and it's been a nightmare the last few days. I've not gotten any response to any of the emails I sent, and when I do finally get to a human being on the phone, they're... 'less than desirable' (they're total garbage, rude, nasty, harassing, gaslighting, insulting) and they seem to greatly enjoy hanging up on people. When I call back, they pretend they've never talked to me before, but in the background I can hear them saying, 'oh it's this guy again'. I sent in my Vivo Barefoot shoes for an outsole replacement and general cleaning. The service took longer than the expected completion date, which was already disappointing. Unfortunately, within just two weeks of light use, the adhesive began to come undone and the leather started separating from the outsole. I reached out to customer service and received a response from Mayra Guzman asking for photos. I sent them right away but never heard back. I even followed up and submitted a second help ticket--still no response or resolution. At $125, I expected quality workmanship and at the very least, clear communication and accountability if something went wrong. Instead, I was left with poorly repaired shoes and no support after the fact. This experience was ultimately a waste of both time and money. 11 weeks later, they magically appear on my front doorstep. Last time I paid for a complete restoration, I got new insoles and new laces. The only thing that was replaced was the under soles. After waiting nearly 2 months on a 3-4week turnaround, this is what I paid $130 plus shipping for. They should disclose that they have sold their company to another company and that their warehouse is now in Texas and that the wait time is at least 10 weeks. I sent in two pairs of Birkenstocks to be resoled, aboth were not polished but were oil rubbed leather. While they did resole the shoes, they also covered my shoes in polish, ruining the color and getting rid of the patina I wanted to retain. My shoes are ruined. Like others I would not have sent my shoes in here if I had read the yelp reviews. I sent in three pairs of Uggs for repair. While two were returned only one was repaired. I was refunded for the one not repaired but one pair is still missing. For over a month I have been emailing, for an update, for an eta if the shoes are en route...anything regarding where this third missing pair went. I don't have them, i haven't had any response to my emails. Their phone line goes to a full voice mail so email has been the only way to try to attempt. I am now out a pair of uggs. I brought my Custom White's Boots here to get resoled. They did perform their service well within my expectations. However, I should have been more realistic in my expectations with an expensive pair of custom boots, and this probably isn't the place to send something like a custom order White's Boots. I wish I had a photo from before the service to show the difference. I would give them 4.5 stars. I brought my boots in directly as they are not far from me. Their shop was quite busy. I think the price was reasonable for the service. The quoted turn around was 3-4 weeks to be delivered. Given the other reviewers, I thought realistically 5-6 weeks. I got them back 6 weeks later. I had an accident on my motorcycle which left a good scuff in the Bison leather, I thought that would be noticeable, but it was very difficult to tell it was there. Most of the stitching was repaired and a new sole glued on with the original leather stack preserved. The boots were also cleaned well, and it looks like they used black polish. For a non-custom $200~$300 boot, I would consider the service excellent for the price negating the turnaround time. There are 2 notable areas where they fell short when repairing the boots that have to do with having a more expensive custom ordered pair. The leather in the heel and midsole were natural tone which provides a contrast with the black leather. The eyelets were a bronze color. The stitching was an earth tone. I am unsure if the polish has a black pigment to it, or they stained the leather black. I hope they did not stain the leather, and it will wear out to show the natural color. It looks like they glued the sole without a mechanical connection as is original. They did nail in the heel which is proper. The black pigment and no mechanical connection are things I as a consumer should have expected verse going to a shop more dedicated to a boot like mine. read more

My son has a pair of Tecovas "The Doc" boots that had worn out soles in less than a year. So we sprang for the NuShoe service, through Tecovas. It cost $150 and took almost 8 weeks. When the boots finally arrived, the soles and heels were replaced but they had done NOTHING to recondition the leather on the boots. NOTHING! They advertize as making your boots look new again. Horse crap. Waste of time and money. Go to a local cobbler, pay way lesss money, and get them in days not months. The soles just won't say Tecovas on the bottom. Boo hoo. This review is based on my research of the services offered by NuShoe.com. Today my new Finn Comfort shoes arrived from FinnComfortusa.com the original seller of this German brand. I am experienced in dealing with the online retailer and their wonderful shoe products. A card was inserted in the box offering 'Handcrafted Shoe Renewal Services'. Finns are expensive foot ware and often worth restoring. So I checked out NuShoe services based in San Deigo, CA. The card (as well as the Finn Comfort USA website) lists 3 levels of shoe renewal: 1) complete renewal $140, 2) basic resole $95, 3) refreshment $55. When I compare that I paid $207 sale price on the shoes that just arrived, I reasoned that it was not cost effective to use the repair service, but to replace them with a new pair. Better yet purchase them NOW while they are on sale to use in the future. Then I read a number of concerning reviews on yelp that pretty much convinced me to not use the service. The Finn Comfort brand (for me) lasts 6 to 9 years! Others shoe brands may be worth the service, but for me and my exclusive loyalty to this brand, I say NO. read more

Haix makes fantastic boots for the Firefighting / EMS Community, they are practically standard issue. A pair is $300+. I've had my boots for 5 years and it was time for them to get resoled. NuShoe is the company that HAIX refers you to. The cost of the service was $95+$30 for shipping, total of $125. As you can see from the pictures, they did a fantastic job, 5 stars for the work that they did. The downside of this all was that on the website it says turn around is 3 to 4 weeks. Ok, I got myself mentally prepared for that. Weeks went by, I was patient. I finally reached out to them at week 6 and got a nice email in return saying that they were delayed because they are experiencing a staffing shortage. Fine, but let's get this done already, it's now two times the 3 weeks that was quoted. More weeks go by and nothing. At 8 weeks I reached back out because now it looked like they had gotten finished and were in the QC/Shipping process. Ok, great!! That was Thursday. Friday and Monday go by and no update to shipping, what the hell?! So I email them again. They reply saying that FedEx comes to pick up once a week, Thursday mornings. My boots had gotten finished on Thursday afternoon, so that's why there was another week wait. So in total it took 9 weeks to get my boots back! Priority should be given based on what these shoes/boots are used for. We have to wear these protective boots, we use them every time that we are on shift. It's unfortunate that it took 9 weeks instead of the 3 to 4 weeks that is advertised on the website. Most likely the last time I do that! Finally received my second pair of boots back. Both boots came back much later than I was told. Several times I spoke with the ladies (Martha & Myra) and was told boots were going out next week only to be told that it would be longer. Both boots are ruined. NuShoe did not fix the heels correctly. There is no spur shelf on the back. The boots are ruined. Two pictures are what boots look like new. The spur shelf is clearly present. The other pictures are what the boots look like after NuShoe supposedly fixed them. There is no spur shelf. The boots are ruined and not wearable with spurs any longer. I will never use NuShoe again as they have poor customer service and their work quality leaves a lot to be desired. read more

If I could give them a half a star, I would. I am beyond disappointed with the service I got from Nushoe! Disappointment doesn't even begin to describe my emotions. Quite frankly, I am pissed off. They charged me nearly the price it would be to get an entirely brand new pair of birkenstock boston's from birkenstock. On top of the astronomical price for a minor repair request, they ruined my shoes (birkenstock boston's)! I asked them to put new soles on them and that was all I requested but they sanded down the leather of the shoe making it a shitty color, deminishing it's quality and thickness, and making it look like shit. The quality of the materials looks and feels like garbage, they feel like knockoffs. I had special edition Birkenstock Boston's that were in a rare color that is hard to find and NuShoe removed the texture and color from the leather making it look like an entirely different shoe. This is so unacceptable. I want a refund or a new pair of shoes. This is far from what I requested and I am very upset with the service I have gotten from NuShoe. I sent my Johnson and Murphy boots for refurbishment. They did a really great job. Why the three stars? I believe that their site says it takes 3-4 weeks; mine took about two months (from mailing to delivery). At about four or five weeks, I inquired about what was up, they said that they were in the shine department, and it may take a week. I suggested that it has been five weeks (or thereabouts), perhaps they could expedite them. Unfortunately, they weren't able/willing to do that. I realize that everyone is having staffing issues, but two months was just not worth it. While I was happy with the shoes, I think I just need to look a little harder locally - I'd probably save money, support a local small business and most certainly have my shoes much quicker. read more

Several years ago I had a pair of timberland earth keepers, recrafted here. I needed to keep them because it's hard to find shoes in my size that fit, are comfortable, and are stylish. Several months ago I sent an email to have two pairs of boots re-crafted, one dress/casual boot and one work boot. I received an email back...... the reply had one of the front desk workers CC'd with instructions to help me out. After several days of not hearing anything I sent another email to both employees wondering if I could get a quote. I did not hear anything back so about a month later I resent the email to both employees. I have not heard a response from anyone and, find it frustrating and look for a new cobbler. Short: -lies about lead time (over double) -boots came back damaged -new sole not done properly I had a pair of boots that this company was to resole and refinish. It was to take about 4 weeks, after 8 weeks I was calling once a week for updates and always got the same "they didn't look just right so we're having them fixed". I received my boots, wore them for an hour and realized that they must have blown through my leather and try tried to cover it up with something. Now I've got a boot with a hole (the leather was perfect when I sent it in) oh and, sole of both isn't properly fixed. The company when confronted and when explained the extra time with the excuse adds up, that they tried to make them too nice and damaged them in the process. They now call me a liar and say that these aren't even the boots the resoled. Mind you, their sole is on the bottom of this shoe. There was no one in my area who would resole my Doc Martin shoes. They fit great, just the rubber sole was totally shot. I googled, and NuShoe said they would do it. I sent them to NuShoe, and they returned in a few weeks. Perfectly resoled with Vibram soles. This was a massive upgrade to what I had. I absolutely would use them again for a shoe repair if I need to send them away. I try to do my business locally, to support local cobblers, but if you were to ask me for a recommendation for an online resource; it will be NuShoe every time. read more

I had to take them to my neighborhood cobbler to make further repairs where they where left off. End up costing me nearly as much with the two repairs as it would have to buy new boots. I had a pair of Thorogood station boots and a pair of Haix structure boots resoled and reconditioned. The service was straight forward and I liked the options/ add ons they had available (insoles, zippers, laces, etc). All in all its not a "cheap" service but its more cost effective for me than replacement boots, not to mention the value and pride of continuing to care for and wear the same boots for many years. I've been to multiple structure fires in my structure boots and have walked many miles in my station boots in a little over a year and so far they're holding up nicely. There is a torn thread in the toe of the station boot and I wasn't particularly impressed with the "reconditioning" of the leather. The tread is wearing rather quickly on the structure boots but I do wear them a lot. I plan to use their service again in a 2-3 years. read more

I would definitely recommend Nu Shoe, I have used them several times now and and each time I am impressed with the quality and materials used to renew my shoes definitely cheaper and a better alternative than throwing away a good pair of boots or shoes just have them renewed and they are already broken in and fit your feet comfortably, The only drawback is doing without your shoes or boots while they're away being reconditioned. I just got my tall sand Uggs back from nushoe and they are absolutely stunning. They even had the ugg brand soles to replace mine with. I had also completely melted the toe off of mine by putting them too close to the fire pit while camping, and now you can't tell that ever happened.
