They also routinely offer complimentary reusable shopping bags with purchase, which are sturdy and well-made, in addition to other free items, such as chocolate bars and other snack products. I've amassed a little stockpile of organic canned beans in my pantry for 35¢ a can after using their "$1 off any store brand item" coupon found in the coupon booklets they leave at the entrance. Their anniversary sale in August tends to offer unusually good bargains, and the app contains opportunities as well. If you use the various tools Natural Grocers provides, it's not difficult to optimize your shopping here. I've learned the hard way to avoid the clearance rack for the most part, as they seem to wait until the day of expiration to put the products out, and what I've tried has been noticeably stale. Most importantly, their inventory is healthy, and the vibe is stress-free. Long lines, rambunctious kids, and big crowds don't really seem to happen here. I asked for help and felt ignored and like an inconvenience by the end. I get it, I work in a customer service industry as well--but I get enough from customers, I don't need to get it from businesses that I frequent as well. Even though it was late in the evening, I decided to leave my purchases there and head over to target for what I needed and was able to get everything I needed (and most all were the same brands) at a much more affordable price and still organic.
