I wanted some Scones so, I thought this Mexican Bakery would have it. So, this how it works, you grab a Circular Tray and Tongs then, use the Tongs to pick out your favorite piece of Pan Dulce! I found something similar to a Scone. It was large in size, crispy and sweet with lots of sugar ! I also got a Pumpkin Empanada that was fresh and soft. There were a few customers inside. One guy was buying two dozen pieces of bread. It took some time for him to check out. The Cashier has to create the box and then put them in the box one by one. Plus, theres only two registers. They have a variety of sweet breads to choose from. The ones, I chose were a Dollar Ten a piece. I remember the bread being a lot less expensive than this. Oh well, it's a sign of the times. Great spot for the freshest pan Dulce. The selection is extensive and everything is out in bins and on racks for you to select from. So many great choices! The staff is friendly and efficient. The place is always packed, but they keep lines moving and the place spotless. I cannot think of a single item that has not been so fresh and tasty! The one draw back is parking. Very limited, but it moves fast, circle the block and someone will leave by the time you circle back. Great place you just try! read more

During my recent trip to DFW, we were in this area in the morning, so I did a search for a bakery. This one seemed to have a huge selection, so it was out destination. It was amazing to see the entire wall case full of pastries! This is a Mexican pastry shop, so no really any pastilitos, but so many other choices. Apple turnovers, pound cake mini loafs, cheesecake slices, giant butter cookie sandwiches, crescent shaped rolls filled with cream cheese, muffins, danishes, etc. Of course, the kind lady had to explain to us what each of the items were. She was so patient! The most amazing thing was their prices! Every item was about a dollar each. This wouldn't be in Florida. My entire bag was less than $5.... wow. We took our treats to a coffee shop where we sat down and enjoyed our lazy morning. read more

What a great lil Mexican bakery and taco place. They have freshly made donuts, pastries ,and cookies daily. When you go in, you grab a round metal plate, a pair of tongs, and go through the windows of goodies, and grab what you want. You pile all that on the plate, take it up front and pay. The prices are very good. They also have a dining area. They serve homemade Mexican food as well as the pastries. I love the fact you pick exactly what you want. Each donut, each cookie, you grab the one you want. Makes me fell like a lil kid in a pastry shop. In the mornings, they also have some pigs-in-a-blanket up front that are to die for. This location sells hot meals in addition to the several bakery cases of pan dulce (Mexican pastries). You can also order cakes. I've tried a bunch of the pastries and they're pretty much all delicious! They're super cheap too. You can get like 10 pastries for just a few dollars. Our favorite thing is the breakfast burritos, though. I always get the bacon & egg burrito with a slather of refried beans (makes it creamy and delicious!). The prices are very reasonable and they are cheaper than the Arlington location. Keep in mind that most/all of the staff speaks Spanish. However, you don't need too much verbal communication to buy the pastries, and I think anyone who can read can manage ordering the hot food even without knowing Spanish. Try it! read more

I wanted tortillas, but I "settled for" a Tres Leches cake since Anakaren no longer sells fresh tortillas. The cake was perfect! The cake I chose had one layer chocolate and one layer white, the texture dense. It was very moist and not at all mushy. They have the cake in several different sizes with the cost ranging from $20-$40. The flavors in stock at the time were chocolate, white, or both chocolate and white. They also have a nice selection of pan dulce, a grill, and tortilla mix. read more

After tasting a wonderful Anakaren tres leches cake at a celebration, I decided to pick up a small cake for my son's 2nd birthday. Since it was last minute, I settled on one of the beautiful cakes from their fridge display. I placed it in our fridge at home until our son's bday dinner with my in-laws and friends. It was time for dessert and we couldn't wait to cut into the cake. Once I cut the first slice and was placing it on a plate to serve, I noticed big pieces of green on the inside of the cake and on the slice I had just cut. I had to do a double take to finally realize it was MOLD! Not only did we not have a cake to celebrate with, but I was embarrassed because I had raved about how great their cakes were, nonstop! I waited until the first thing the next morning to drive all the way back out to the bakery and the employee that helped me really did not speak much English but she could see why I was returning it. She did apologize but I was frustrated that I couldn't express the full effect of my complaint to a manager or someone in charge. We live 30 minutes away, we didn't have a cake for my son's birthday dinner, and I had to drive all the way back the next morning with grumpy toddlers in the backseat! I had asked for a full refund along with a replacement cake so we could re-enact blowing his candles, and thought she understood since she kept saying "yes" but once she boxed up my new cake that she said was fresh, I gave her the credit card I used to purchase it- she then understood what I wanted and said I couldn't do both. As much as I believe that I deserve a full refund and a new cake for all of the trouble, I promised my kiddos a cake and didn't want to stop anywhere else with them, so I decided to just take the cake and hope for the best. Fortunately the cake I got was just as good as the first one I tried from this bakery but I don't think I'll return. Complaining isn't usually my thing but I feel as though consumers should know the possibility of mold in their cake from this bakery. It could ruin a big celebration or worse, make people sick, and I hope posting this alerts the owners of this business and prevents this from happening. read more

This bakery is pretty clean. Although it's really hit or miss with the bread (sometimes it can be really dense) I'd still recommend simply for the craving satisfaction. There is usually a few cakes ready to be picked up and the bread selection is pretty wide. They have a few cold sodas and milk in the fridge. I personally enjoy the conchas there. read more

Nice casual, looks to be family owned bakery. Has a full menu with Tortas, Burritos, Tacos, menudo, and of course all your baking desserts like tres leches. Food tastes great and it's awesome to find a place that has very affordable food ($2.99 fora burrito). Had a whole shelf of assorted ready-made baked good. Awesome, this is their #3 store. Newly renovated. Very welcoming. Some breads taste different than the ones I got from their Arlington location. I prefer my sweets very sweet so I liked the Arlington ones a tad bit better but this was also very good. Got 8 breads for 6 bucks. Can't beat that. Love it. Will be back for a lot more. read more

This location is amazing! They can handle huge orders. We ordered for our elementary school dad's club breakfast. Since we are tax free a discount is usually given. They gave us the biggest discount ever! From any company we have ordered from. The breakfast is so good! I would try the bread looks like a shell and has cream cheese inside. So good! read more
