Believe it or not there's a chocolate cake in there with buttercream frosting, topped off by an incredible display of very detailed greenery and decorations and presence. If that was not enough inside of one of those presents wrapped is a battery pack with an on off switch, and a separate remote control, which allows you to do countless light displays. I try to come up with something different every year for her for different events... You all can be the judge. Long story short, home bakery ruined our gender reveal…read more.. After many years and birthday cakes ordered here, my mom ordered a set of cupcakes for my gender reveal. She ordered them over the phone and gave specific instructions on colors, cake flavors, etc. She had ordered white/vanilla cupcakes so that when our family bit into the cupcakes the gender color would be revealed. The employee on the phone reiterated the order and we thought all was well. Well my dad went to pick them up and was asked to sign a paper (not sure that this is policy or not but this seemed suspicious as if they knew they messed up) and came home with a dozen chocolate cupcakes. Unfortunately I have a family member who cannot have chocolate, and that is why we did not order that flavor. Very disappointing for a bakery that has been around for years and a staple in downtown Rochester can't even get a simple cake flavor correct. Unfortunately our reveal was disappointing as not everyone could partake due to home bakery's error. I will make sure myself/family and friends will never order from here again.

While the design was exactly what I asked for and they were easy to work with and so responsive, unfortunately the cake was so dry none of us could eat it. I reached out to the same person I'd been coordinating with and they never responded. I don't know if something changed or if their chocolate cake is just super dry, but would recommend sampling first if you decide to go with them.

The staff greeted us from the kitchen and walked towards the counter to help us. The seating is limited, but we were able to relax in the cozy sitting area with fireplace. I decided to stop here after seeing it on my way home. They have baking supplies like pans, emulsions, extracts, decorating tools. I got a 1/2 sheet pan and a fat daddio spring form pan. If I need anything else, I'll definitely come back. The are open are 9-6pm. The lady answered any questions I had and was knowledgeable about baking. Support small businesses!

This company offers decorating classes and I finally got into the Mother's Day cookie class. This…read moreis a 2 hour class from 7-9 but we were there a little longer. The owners conduct the class and are really nice people. They provide all the supplies needed as well as a box to take your decorated cookies home. They start the class with some practice so you don't go directly to the cookies. This was very helpful. I learned so many techniques! After, they gave us a discount on any supplies we wanted to get and that was really nice. I highly recommend this store as well as class - there were repeat learners there and I know I'll be a future repeat learner as well.
