Everything is clearly packaged / labeled and the store is clean and well organized. I was looking for a particular item - chocolate covered espresso beans - and reached out via their Facebook page. The response was less than an hour, which was impressive! However, I wasn't able to make it that day. When I did show up I thanked the owner for her quick response and she did state that there are times when she's too busy to check the FB account, which is understandable. Support local. I really try to shop local when I can and this is one of the retailers in downtown Lake Orion that our family really enjoys visiting! We make special stops for holidays and pop in for an after dinner treat when we eat downtown. Nutz About Chocolate has a big selection of both milk and dark chocolate to please all of your sweet-loving friends and family! The owner is extremely friendly and offers great suggestions for gift giving and general chocolate enjoyment. We visited specifically for Valentines Day and Nutz didn't disappoint. The chocolate covered oreos in both milk and dark were a big hit! We also purchased pretzel rods with milk chocolate/heath and milk chocolate/m&ms. My cordial cherry loving spouse like the Nutz version, which were made in rosette molds and heavy on the cherry. You can single truffles and cupcakes here, too! I found out about this shop from a chocolate and beer pairing event at Homegrown Brewery in Oxford. I was amazed at the quality of her products! I'm not normally a cupcake person but her cupcakes are so decadent yet not too sweet. Another favorite is the dark chocolate-dipped Valencia oranges slices. Basically anything you get is guaranteed to be fresh & delicious. The packaging is biodegradable, and she has a decent selection of vegan options as well. I loved my visit to Nutz. They offer many accidentally vegan treats. Chocolate covered Oreos, nutter butters, apricot pieces for example. There were so many different types of deliciousness, I had to make some hard choices on what to take home! Definitely more than I was expecting walking in. The peanut butter cups are melt in your mouth delicious. All the packaging is bpa free and compostable! Definitely keep this place in mind for your next local treat need. read more

The owner, Tina, is an awful decorator of cakes and an overall rude person. Sold my family a wedding cake and completely butchered it. When we complained, she offered $60 back. When I explained she ruined my only wedding cake, she said I'm a millennial, it's not guaranteed I would only have one wedding. If she couldn't do the work, she should have said so. She also admitted afterward that she doesn't do wedding cakes..yet here I am! She claimed she told us up front she couldn't do it (which was a lie), but then still proceeded to do it and delivered this awfully. She came back and tried to fix it, put some more beads on it. I asked her if she had more beads, why was it delivered this way and she didn't have an answer. She continuously talked over me and didn't listen to what I had to say or why I was displeased. Not only can they create a chocolate delight, they made my birthday cake. Beyond words so thankful. It was beautiful and tasted fabulous. Husband chose yellow cake with buttercream. This is by far the best Small batch / Homemade style candy I have ever had...... but those cupcakes.... I can't say enough. I do not know what they do to them, but the flavors are amazing. My husband got a box of chocolates for me from Nutz About Chocolate for Valentine's Day. It was packed with my favorites, which he picked out, and was extremely reasonably priced. It was by far a better deal (both in price, quality and presentation) than the heart boxes you get at the grocery store. In addition to the chocolate box, I purchased a few items there for my husband for Valentine's Day (neither of us knew the other had stopped at the shop). I got the chocolate covered strawberries that were the best I've ever had- and I must admit, I really do love chocolate covered strawberries and have tried many different brands. Then box I purchased had 6 very large, red chocolate covered strawberries that had the perfect amount of juice. These were clearly made within hours of buying them, and that freshness made the presentation and taste extraordinary. I also got the "milk chocolate bacon box." The box had two types of products. One was chocolate cover bacon strips - and combination of crisp bacon & chocolate is wonderful. The other was chocolate covered pretzels, peanut butter and bacon pieces. That was unexpected and delicious. We already love the chocolate covered peanut butter cups at Nutz, but these were simply amazing. All-in-all, Nutz About Chocolate is a fun store to poke around, has gift boxes that are well presented and thoughtful, delicious chocolates and cupcakes, AND they get their raw materials and packaging from sustainable resources. In addition, I stopped by the shop around 5:30 pm on Valentine's Day, and the owners, Tina and Joe, were pleasant and patient with each customer (and there were many)...even after what I can only imagine was a VERY hectic shopping day (seeing as how Valentine's Day is all about the chocolate and flowers!).Thanks Nutz About Chocolate for a great Valentine's Day shopping experience! read more
