We were able to schedule a couple of drive lessons with the same instructor, as well as with other instructors for how different people teach. The drive test refresher was also a welcome lesson. John H. was amazing! We had arranged he would pick up our son from the house and then we would meet them at the DMV for the scheduled drive test. We had a little paperwork issue which was my fault, but John was there and got me the right contact to be able to remedy the issue quickly and still be able to take the drive test. He was very patient and easy to talk to and always showed up to my house early or on time. Starting out, if you just follow EVERYTHING he tells you to do, then things will start to make sense and driving becomes sort of second nature. I love their car because it's fun, comfortable, and easy to use. My 2 problems with them is after 10 hours of driving lessons, I still didn't know how to park and be a safe driver. After them, I can drive but not well. And last thing, my instructor always interfered with my steering wheel. I totally appreciate it starting off because I sucked but by the last few lessons, I felt like I got the hang of it and just needed practice but I didn't learn when he was always taking over the wheel. Overall my experience was good and I do recommend them for any type of driver including first time drivers. But if you're a first time driver, don't expect to be great by the end of it. My son wanted his last driving day to be closer to the day of his driving test. Of course the DMV's testing was 6 weeks out. Safe Driving School still accommodated and allowed for the change. My son felt super comfortable in the car that he was driving. I felt comfortable allowing them to take my son because they have the brakes and accelerator on their side. My son drove on the highway and even the strip area. I even still get anxious driving on the strip at times. After the drive, Dwayne would let me know what my son still needed to work on and what he did really good on. We had the pleasure of meeting Alicia and Dwayne and both were great. My son felt really comfortable with Dwayne and Dwayne did more evenings. My vision isn't as good in the evenings so I was really appreciative that we could book out in the evening with somebody else driving with my son. Safe Driving School gave my son the confidence to drive and gave me confidence that his skills would be better tuned when I drove with him. I love that they pick him up and drop him off. It was super convenient. They never shorted him any time, it was always the full two hours and they were always on time. The company is very professional and friendly. My grandson finished his lessons in December. Circumstances prevented him from taking his test until 2/23. We went to DMV, and there was Lynn waiting. My grandson was scheduled for 2:20. Mind you, these delays were on my end, and the contract with Safe Driving School was completely satisfied, but yet there was Lynn today. This was all done today on their dime! I had NO idea that a business with this level of customer CARE existed anywhere today. It is worth every cent I spent. I would/will do it again in a heartbeat! The ladies at the front desk were just the friendliest people you could ever meet. They were able to answer all my questions and also my wife's questions with straight answers and gave me some great opinions on how I could get started. Within a few days, I was in a classroom with Mark training and preparing myself for the CDL permit test. Mark is a great teacher, he was funny and very detailed oriented. He had a way of making sure class didn't get too boring. Thanks to Mark, I was able to pass my permit test on my first try only missing one question. After I obtained my permit, it was time to start hands-on training out in the yard. This is where I got nervous because I don't always get along with other people. Especially people with chips on their shoulder. Once I got out there I realized it was all in my head. Because the students and staff out in the yard were justice friendly as the staff in the office and it made it very easy to want to come back every day. To me, it felt like being a kid again just hanging out with my friends at the playground. Of all the students I became friends with there are 3 that really stand out to me... The 3 instructors that I worked with the most where Mona, Tony and Markell. They always showed up to the yard with great attitudes. Tony was really good about letting me drive around at my own pace, learning how to shift in and out of the gears properly. Markell was fantastic at keeping me motivated and teaching me a lot about the different size trailers and how each one maneuvers differently. He was also able to help me out with my exterior pre-trip inspection. He taught me a few things I didn't know and helped me get ready for the big test day. Mona is an absolute rock star!! She really went above and beyond helping me every step of the way, and any time I ask for a little more assistance with anything she made sure I got it. She taught me everything I needed to know about my in cab pre-trip inspection and my offset parking. She really went above and beyond helping me get ready for my road test.
