I've never driven before but my driving instructor helped me overcome my fear of driving and taught me how to drive on the road. That's something Im very grateful for. He was very patient and easy to talk to and always showed up to my house early or on time. Starting out, if you just follow EVERYTHING he tells you to do, then things will start to make sense and driving becomes sort of second nature. I love their car because it's fun, comfortable, and easy to use. My 2 problems with them is after 10 hours of driving lessons, I still didn't know how to park and be a safe driver. After them, I can drive but not well. And last thing, my instructor always interfered with my steering wheel. I totally appreciate it starting off because I sucked but by the last few lessons, I felt like I got the hang of it and just needed practice but I didn't learn when he was always taking over the wheel. Overall my experience was good and I do recommend them for any type of driver including first time drivers. But if you're a first time driver, don't expect to be great by the end of it. I've thought a lot about whether or not I wanted to write this review, but ultimately, I decided that it would be better to write this review and write honestly about my experience with National Driving School. I want to start off by saying that my instructor was very nice, and that is why I was hesitant about writing this review. However, I honestly do not think that he made me a better driver, and I feel as though I wasted a lot of money and time. There are still a lot of basic things about driving (like when to stop, how to properly make turns, how to change lanes correctly) that I did not get, even after 8 hours of instruction. This is because I was never taught properly by my driving instructor. Everything I learned about driving and "tricks" to help me gage how to turn, I learned online through YouTube. At first, I thought that I was just a bad driver, but after 8 hours of instruction, my parents demanded that I switch driving companies because they felt like I was wasting both my time and money. After I had switched over, I learned more in two hours than I had in the 8 hours at National Driving. I learned how to stop properly, how to make proper turns, how to change lanes, and how to gage depth better. And this was all done in 2 hours. I initially chose this school because of the price ($80 per two hours), but I quickly learned that in this case, you do get what you pay for. My driving instructor was late sometimes, and he was also on his phone on three occasions during my lessons. Not only that, but his phone was also on so I would hear the buzzing and beeping and that was quite distracting during my lessons. That is not to say that my driving instructor was not nice and he honestly did try to be helpful; he made me feel more at ease with driving, but I didn't get any of the tips or concrete/coherent lesson plans or driving instructions that I needed. Maybe I just wasn't well-suited to his teaching style. But, I do want to emphasize again that my driving instructor was very nice and friendly. All in all, I really do wish that I could get my money back because it was a waste of my time and money - everyone else that I drove with initially after was surprised that I had already received so many hours of instruction because I didn't even know how to reverse. Very unprofessional and doesn't teach you anything. When I was trying to park in the box, the instructor did not give any advice at all. Just sat there silently and got frustrated when I couldn't do it. Keep in mind I had no prior experience to parking a car in the box. I had to youtube how to do it. I loved this driving school! My instructor was Lily Fernandez and I loved her! She is so dedicated to her job and genuinely cares about her students. She will try to do anything for her students! For example for my driver's exam we couldn't really find a date in such short notice. So, she told me if she couldn't get me an appointment that she was going to just to do a standby with me on a Saturday! But, in the end we didn't need to do a standby because luckily we were able to find an appointment! (Like literally Friday we got the appointment and the next day aka Saturday was my exam) and I ended up passing my driver's exam on 5/13/2023! Also let me tell you she had plans that Saturday that I had to take my driver's exam and she canceled her plans just for I could take the driver's exam! If that's not dedication I don't know what is! She has so much patience and makes you feel so comfortable and not bad about yourself for making mistakes or anything. If you were to make a mistake or anything she will tell you it's okay and to keep trying or will try to explain a way you can try to better your driving. She's not those mean instructors who will yell at you or anything I promise! I felt more confident in my driving after just 3 lessons with her! She also lets you know when she feels when you're ready to take the driver's exam. She is also bilingual! I had taken 5 classes prior with another driving school and let me tell you it was nothing compared to with National Driving School. Choosing National Driving School was the best decision I could've done. If you're thinking about choosing this driving school I hope you do because it's the best and Lily is the best! I am so grateful I was able to find this school because if it wasn't for this school I would've not had my driver's license because the other school I went to was legit no help and it was a waste of my money! My driving instructor was Habtu and to be honest, it was fine at first. He seemed pretty nice and would always show up on time. I had only previous practiced beforehand in parking lots and I had absolutely no experience on the road. My first few lessons were fine. I somewhat enjoyed them and learned a few things, except Habtu would make comments such as "your parents said you were good at turning and I'm not seeing that at all" which was firstly not true as he was made aware of my lack of experience and the comments honestly felt very condescending and made me feel a lot less confident in my driving abilities, but I brushed it off as otherwise he seemed like a decent teacher. By the fourth lesson however, I was immensely frustrated as I would be trying my absolute best considering I don't have the time or means to practice outside of my lessons and it was only my 7/8th hour driving on a road at all. Habtu was not encouraging. I wasn't sure if he was having a bad day or something and I agree that I was definitely making mistakes, but driving with Habtu felt as if making mistakes was another chance for him to make a dig at me and then suddenly switch back around to pretend and be supportive. He would constantly knock down my confidence by telling me things like how I'm not listening to him and ignoring him if I didn't reply or acknowledge his passive aggressive comments and he would take the wheel from me when I would be waiting to make right turns (he told me to wait to make turns since I "didn't know what I was doing", but would get annoyed when I didn't make the turns?). He would also make comments about how I should already know certain things instead of explaining them to me and said things such as "if you were smart you would do this and that" and overall constantly made me feel small and dumb. He would make me pull over so that we could "talk about things" when I would feel upset but he could not take any criticisms I had or acknowledged how he made me feel at all. He also compared me to one of his other students and how she "only drove with her mom once before her lesson with him" and was not making the same mistakes as I was. This I felt was extremely rude and condescending as well because I needed him to help me instead of making me feel bad for needing more help than his other students. My last few lessons he commented on how I improved significantly, but the cause of that was that I actively chose to ignore him and he seemed less chatty on those days. I feel like it should be a problem if I IMPROVE when I ignore my own instructor. He would also constantly be on his phone making appointments or calling other students and would assure me that he was still watching me, but it just seemed unprofessional. He would also make me drive him to his bank as well as make me pull over for him to take phone calls which cut into my learning time. On the day of my driving test, he consistently told me the things previous mentioned and continued to make me feel negative on my way to the DMV which completely shook my already bad confidence. When I failed my test due to nerves, the drove back was awful as he made me feel even smaller for being a bit upset over failing. When driving me home, he almost rear ended a car being he wasn't paying attention and made fun of my failure by saying that he was speeding and not paying attention "just like me" despite my issue being that I tend to be too slow. Habtu might be a good instructor for some and he did teach me the law, but he did nothing for my confidence. I feel as if an instructor should work around the student and their needs instead of belittling them when they don't fit into their method of teaching. read more

Woldu is a great instructor. I've had my driver's license for years now, but never had anyone that could consistently teach me how to drive manual. I looked around, and not a lot of schools offer such lessons, but I was lucky to have found National Driving School. Not only did Woldu offer stick shift lessons, but he offers them at a very reasonable price. Two weekends (6 hours) worth of lessons, and I can drive reasonably well! I had a terrible experience with this driving school I had my first lesson and I didn't have fun at all. I think Lake is a very unprofessional impatient instructor I explained that I needed more driving practice and I just felt he was rude. At times it was difficult to understand his directions he wasn't clear at times I didn't feel confident in my driving with him. One of the most unprofessional and terribly managed driving school I have ever seen. My story starts on the 24th of Friday with first calling and booking a whole weeks worth of driving lessons on the phone. While I am booking my lessons I ask the lady on the phone if they provided any services where I was allowed to use their car for the driving test and while she did say yes, she also mentioned that it will be a tight fit so she will call me back by Sunday the 26th if she can make it happen or not. Now it was the 27th on a Monday with my first driving lesson at 11:30 AM. I call the school at around 9:30 AM wondering what happened and if I was even going to have my lesson that day. A guy answers and tells me that I wasn't even on the schedule AT ALL. I told him about the situation with using their car on my driving test and how it was a tight fit but he said it was odd that the first lady did not schedule me at all and didn't even get back to me about it. So after telling him about that he then says to call him back in half an hour and so once I did he TEXTED me "Can I call you back later?" I proceeded to then ask if this was even the driving school and he never responded. I am not even mad about it since it worked in my favor of finding a different driving school that is way better than these morons running this place. National Driving School is the best driving school in Las Vegas. I tried 2 other ones around and they didnt teach much they basically just let me drive around and just didnt care and charged me so much money. My driving teacher ALEX is the best he will really explain all the rules and even the littlest details of what you need to know about the road. He also taught me how to be smart in driving. He was very nice and a perfectionist because he really wanted me to pass the drivers test! I rented their car as well for the actual drivers test and we had a practice before the test which was so helpful! I passed the drivers test the first time and got 94 percent and the examiner said I did really good! National driving school is so underrated that they are the most excellent driving school in Vegas that doesnt rip you off or charge you so much money. It is VERY worth it. Just as I expected I got my license and been driving around safely! Thank you to this school and my driving teacher Alex!! Keep it up!! I totally recommend this school to beginners and also those who want to refresh their driving skills. Dont take any other driving school esp. the 90 + bucks ones theyre just ripping you off.
