When I 1st started looking into how I could obtain my CDL license, nothing seamed like it was going to work for me and I started to get a little discouraged but then I called Truck-U and I was able to light at the end of the tunnel. The ladies at the front desk were just the friendliest people you could ever meet. They were able to answer all my questions and also my wife's questions with straight answers and gave me some great opinions on how I could get started. Within a few days, I was in a classroom with Mark training and preparing myself for the CDL permit test. Mark is a great teacher, he was funny and very detailed oriented. He had a way of making sure class didn't get too boring. Thanks to Mark, I was able to pass my permit test on my first try only missing one question. After I obtained my permit, it was time to start hands-on training out in the yard. This is where I got nervous because I don't always get along with other people. Especially people with chips on their shoulder. Once I got out there I realized it was all in my head. Because the students and staff out in the yard were justice friendly as the staff in the office and it made it very easy to want to come back every day. To me, it felt like being a kid again just hanging out with my friends at the playground. Of all the students I became friends with there are 3 that really stand out to me... Andrew, Lionel & Onay I appreciate you guys' and your friendship. I wish you guys the best of luck, happiness and a safe journey in life. The instructors out in the yard were absolutely fantastic. The 3 instructors that I worked with the most where Mona, Tony and Markell. They always showed up to the yard with great attitudes. They never let their personal lives interfere or affect how they were teaching the students. Tony was really good about letting me drive around at my own pace, learning how to shift in and out of the gears properly. Markell was fantastic at keeping me motivated and teaching me a lot about the different size trailers and how each one maneuvers differently. He was also able to help me out with my exterior pre-trip inspection. He taught me a few things I didn't know and helped me get ready for the big test day. Mona is an absolute rock star!! She really went above and beyond helping me every step of the way, and any time I ask for a little more assistance with anything she made sure I got it. She taught me everything I needed to know about my in cab pre-trip inspection and my offset parking. She really went above and beyond helping me get ready for my road test. My driving was rough, but it wasn't bad. Mona took me out and made sure I was ready for those tight right turns and curvy roads. Mona, I can't thank you enough. It's never too late in life to make your dreams come true, right? I've always dreamed of driving these giant trucks across the United States, and in August of this year, my wife and I decided that it was time to make this dream come true. When we looked for Truck U CDL Training, it all started. To make a long story short, this past Saturday, November 2nd, we took our last skills and driving test for manual transmission and passed. On November 4th, I got my diploma to drive commercial trucks. Now a new future awaits us and much more learning ahead. I would like to thank the Truck U CDL Training Center. I received my CDL Class A License through TruckU very recently. Shar is an amazing first point of contact. She assisted me with enrollment all the way through graduating. She explains everything thoroughly and was always so pleasant to deal with. Holly, was always on top of her yard. She knew and took the time to learn everyone's names and always knew who needed to work on what. On top of running the yard she was a huge help to me when it came down to my skills. Dre, both a class A & B instructor, was always willing to give me additional help with skills, even if it meant we were the last ones to the leave the yard on a 105° day. John-John, gave the best instruction when it came to the in cab. He made me a nervous wreck but ensured we had the in cab inspection and pre trip down with his many evaluations. Frank, he took care of me from the very first day he saw me out in the training yard. He helped perfect my shifting and turns. He was the first to believe I had what it took to be on the road. Mike, their lead instructor, is someone I truly grew to admire. He cares so strongly about the trucking industry and it shows. I have nothing but good things to say about this school. It is a new school. Like any new school they do still have some kinks to work out. Trucks break down, it's part of the business. They give you plenty of time out in the skills yard. Conrad ensures you get your drive time in before an exam even if your time is up. It all comes down to you and how badly you want to succeed. Test Process was hassle free as they have a 3rd Party Examiner. This was so much better than having to go stand around the DMV all day to test. The recruiter told me that you don't need to have a DOT physical to get your CDL permit. That's entirely untrue, she didn't seem to know very much about the process. And I was concerned that there's three different locations you have to go to for truck driver training. I ended up choosing another school, and have been very happy with it. read more

If I could give them 10 stars I would. They were so helpful getting me to the next level of my career. Danny failed me but he was nice about it and trust me it was my fault. But he encouraged me to get more acquainted with the vehicle. Then I met Frank who told me to dust myself off and try again. That's when I met Holly. The badass out of all of em and the only woman working the yard. She was the highlight of my entire experience. I now have my class B and I owe it all to them. This school is brand new but I took a chance and decided to sign up. It was a long hard road but I finally received my CDL today! Don't hesitate to choose the school. I know there's a lot of choices out there. But, the instructors at the school genuinely care about the students. They want you to succeed and as long as you are willing to put in the hard work they are willing to match that hard work. One of the instructors went to the DMV today for me when it was his day off. He didn't need to do that, it was on his own time. I tried to pay him for his day but he would not take it. I wasn't expecting anybody to do that but he knew how important it was for me to hurry and get my license. I personally would like to thank Jon Jon for going above and beyond his call of duty. It meant even more that he had so much confidence in me that he would get up at probably four in the morning in order to bring the truck to the DMV for me on a Saturday! There were a few hook ups at the school. But that's to be expected when a new business is formed and opened. I would also like to thank the operations manager for inviting me back to the school to practice before my initial test and also two days before my retest. And Miss Holly, the infamous drill instructor, finally drilled those damn skills into my damn hard head!!! Do not hesitate to go to this school. I can't give enough praise.
