I had my LASIK procedure here yesterday. My eyesight was REALLY bad - Dr. Lusby referred to my prescription as "robust" lol. After wearing corrective lenses for 33 years, and with my nearsightedness and astigmatism getting worse, I decided to finally go through with it. My initial corneal scan was a little irregular, so they had me refrain from wearing contacts and do dry eye therapy for a week before returning for a rescan, which apparently did the trick. Flash forward to a month later. I will say there was a VERY long wait from the time I arrived til I actually got in the surgery room (almost 3 hours), but I was the last patient of the day, so I understand that things can get pushed back. The actual procedure only took like 10 min. Dr. Lusby talked me through the whole thing and even joked that he was able to save most of my eyelash extensions after pulling the tape off haha. The worst part was probably the pressure from whatever it was pushing down so hard on my eye I was seeing stars. I'm currently seeing halos around lights, but my optometrist said I'm seeing very close to 20/20, and both should improve with recovery. Very pleased with the results!!! Thanks to Dr. Lusby for his expert work, my patient counselor Billy for not getting annoyed with me blowing up his phone with texts in the days leading up to surgery, and a special shoutout to Flor at the front desk for staying late and working with my husband to make sure we got our VSP allowance. I wanted to update this! After my review and original visit of NVISION Fullerton, they reached out to me to get more feedback and hopefully improve it. After I explained everything, they were very understanding of my frustrations. They also set me up an appointment with NVISION in Newport with Dr. Tooma. I never went back to NVISION Fullerton, but I appreciate the follow up call and desire to improve service. NVISION Newport is where I ended up getting my LASIK done. Dr. Tooma and his team were very professional. My full review on Dr. Tooma will be on the NVISION Newport Yelp page. I'm giving NVISION Fullerton 3 stars in this review because they listened to my feedback and connected me with a great doctor. NVISION Newport was able to use the vision tests I did in Fullerton, so I didn't have to repeat too many exams. The communication between the 2 clinics is nice. Overall: I haven't been back to NVISION in Fullerton. I highly recommend Newport and Dr. Tooma over the doctors here, but the follow up customer service in Fullerton was appreciated. read more

My surgery was almost a week ago, I'm still not seeing perfect, (I'm older) but even if this is as good as it gets, I am 100% happy!! I've worn contacts since 4th grade, glasses in my pillowcase so I can get to the bathroom, now waking up and being able to see, is a true gift!!! I can read!!!! Everyone here at NVISION is so nice, I really have to thank Melinda R, I was constantly sending her emails with questions, and to be honest, I was actually 2nd guessing my decision to do this!! Melinda always got right back to me and was so reassuring, I would have chickened out if it wasn't for her, I read too much online!! Dr Lusby is great too!! Talked to me through the entire procedure! I did have pain as soon as I got to the car, freaked me out, I had my mom look online before she drove away, and found it's normal sometimes, and usually goes away, in 4-5 hours.. sure enough, at the 4 hour mark, it VANISHED! My follow ups with my eye dr he tells me everything looks great, and he can't even see where anything was done, impressive for not even a week after surgery! I was told here that I am a great candidate for lasik and was shown that I had all healthy tissue with the scans that were done. I had to ask to see my scans and was shown it was all "green" which meant healthy tissue and enough thickness to operate. I wasn't seen by an licensed optometrist to discuss my results nor my pupils dilated like most facilities would do. But I was allowed to schedule my surgery date. I called back to ask if this is standard and was told yes. Well, I got a second and third opinion at two other Offices and was told I am not a good candidate for lasik or other alternatives because the procedure was too risky. I did not have enough corneal thickness. That if I proceeded it would likely fail. I saw the images of the Two other scans at the two other facilities and both doctors, not consultants, had shown me the thinner areas, discussed with me the safe ranges for operating. One even told me he wouldn't feel comfortable even trying because I would likely have complications after. The other is going to discuss with other professionals if there is any other alternative for me. This experience was very concerning for me. So take this review however you wish. But I would recommend always get another opinion. read more

I am very happy with finally pulling the trigger and getting LASIK done. I was referred to NVISION by a good friend that got her surgery done at an OC location. Thanks to the good review, I chose to get mine done at the Fullerton location. Overall, the process was easy and thankfully squeezed in right before the néw year. Had my consultation on a Wednesday and had my surgery done the following Tuesday. Between having my regular optometrist do a full on pre-operative review plus NVISION running tests and evaluating my eyes, I felt like I made the right choice. The doctors at NVISION were very thorough and took the time to answer all my questions. On the surgery day, I came in at 7:45am and left a bit before 10:30am. Most of the time spent is preparation. Although parts of the procedure can feel a bit nerve wracking, the Xanax helps calm your nerves. I did have one weird miscommunication with the front desk rescheduling one of my appointments, so I would recommend calling to confirm times. read more

My husband and I got so lucky to be referred to NVISION. The staff and Drs are the greatest. My husband had severe cataracts in his right eye from head trauma. Only being 49 and pretty much legally blind. They took such good care of him. Very caring and and genuine doctors that really want to help you! My husband's life has change drastically from the moment he opened his eyes after surgery and he can see. He was like a kid on the drive home. Pointing everything out that he can see. Did my surgery 11/21/23, two weeks ago. Apollo, the consultant who arranges everything with the clinic was very helpful and kind. The staff at the clinic were all phenomenal, especially Alyssa and Dr. Arakaki. They answered every question and concern I had with expertise and friendly professionalism. The surgeon, Sheri Rowen, I didn't meet until the day of surgery. Her kind and warm demeanor made me feel comfortable with her right away. During surgery, Alyssa was there and I remember tensing up a little and she was so susceptible to it, she offered me two stress balls to squeeze, which greatly helped. Dr. Rowen clearly new what she was doing. The whole procedure was around 10-12 minutes. Easy peasy for her. Aftercare is going great as well. Alyssa and Dr. Arakaki really care about my well-being and concerns, and it shows in their passion and quality of work. All in all, 10/10. Or better said, 20/20, just like my vision. This review was done some time ago. I did get my services at the end and the results are great! The biggest problem is the wait time. Made appointment for 10 waited 30 min, and still did not get called. I would expect Nvision to be on time. The front lady tried to be patient with me, but still acted annoyed when I asked how long it will take to wait. Probably she does not have the answer herself. No blame here. I think with the current technology wait time can be managed better. Once they took me, they were very nice, polite and quick to do basic measurements, then you wait again with the door closed. I hope this is not the industry standard and there is a better way to manage time in doctors offices. read more

I got my lasik here last week and my experience was amazing. Throughout my visits they explained all the information thoroughly and were very nice and caring towards me. The day of my surgery I was explained everything and I experienced no pain or discomfort after surgery. My experience was very amazing and I recommend it to anyone. I even have recommended family members and friends. The treatment was life changing and my vision has now become 20/20 where I don't need glasses or contacts no more. Surgery is very short and fast and honestly I was nervous but they knew what to do to help with that and there was no pain during it. I had my cataract with upgraded lens surgery done by Dr. Rowen. I am very satisfied with the surgery results. Before the surgery, Dr. Rowen found my eyes were very dry, may not be good for surgery. So I was using some prescription eye drops to improve the eye condition. Before the surgery, lots of eye exams were done, the clinic assistant Amber went through the fee charges with me, Also gave me a list what I need to do before and after the surgery. They even developed a eye drop schedule check list to help patients to follow. Amber helped me to order the prescription eye drops, the price is much better than The pharmacy covered by my insurance. I really recommend this facility and Dr. Rowen if you need to do cataract with Upgrade lens. read more

PRK was a game changer for me. I couldn't decide between LASIK vs PRK vs SMILE and Dr, Rude explained them well for me. He listened to my concerns about LASIK (drier eyes, possible flap dislodgement..) I decided on PRK despite the longer recovery time because it fit my needs. I recovered in 2 weeks, had near perfect vision at 1 month, and I just completed my 2 month follow up and it's stable. So far so good. It can take up to 3 months for it to be 20/20, but I'm satisfied with the results and progress now. A majority of people I know had chosen LASIK so it is a popular choice. Recovery time in like 24 hours? 20/20 in 24 hours? With no need to take time off from work? I can see why!!! The staff at NVISION were very kind and swift. I had no wait every time I went in for an appointment. I barely remember my procedure actually because they gave me temazepam to relax. My husband recorded the whole thing and showed it to me a month later. It was crazy seeing the giant screen of Dr Lusby doing my eyes. When you decide to get a serious operation done, it's a scary world full of risk and uncertainty. It took me years to finally get LASIK but it was worth the wait with NVISION. The Fullerton staff is awesome and everyone made me feel supported and taken care of every step of the way. Even the customer support line is full of hospitable people who don't sound like they'd rather be digging a hole than talking to you. I'm the type of person who does all of her research but always has questions. At first I considered Dr. Paul Lee (CCRS) because of convenience in location, but I ended up going with NVISION because 1) my optometrist recommended them and 2) Dr. Lee's staff stopped responding to my emails full of questions. Because I'm a worry wart, I was that 1 in a million nightmare case. On May 12th at 4:30PM, I got LASIK done. I slept for a day, worked remotely for another day and was back at the office. I did my 1 day/1 week post ops and was healing just fine, on schedule for my 1 month check right before I left for Peru. On May 31st at approximately 11AM, the corner of a box decided to collide with my right eye. Ironic that one of my biggest concerns during my check ups was, "will I know if the flap moves?" They reassured me that I'd know if it happened...and let me tell you...I knew that's what happened. Long story short, the flap had indeed moved but it was fixable. They would have to lift the flap and realign it, and I'll be honest, it was a miserable experience. They weren't able to schedule surgery that same day, which I wasn't too pleased about, but they scheduled it first thing the next morning. Only problem is the long exposure from the moved flap hurt like a bish and even sleeping pills didn't come to my rescue. The healing process was nothing like the first time and took days and weeks to stop hurting and clear up. So a few words of advice, wear protective glasses when handling boxes 3 weeks after your surgery.. 6 office visits, countless bottles of eye drops and hundreds of miles later, I am A-O-K!! I have to thank Trish who answered every single one of my questions whether it was in person, over the phone or through email, and Dr. Rude, who handled my situation with such care and compassion. He helped me stay calm throughout it all but is a hilarious dude with a great sense of humor. And thank you Dr. Lusby for your ease in fixing my eyes, twice. I wish I remembered everyone's names from that office because they were all so warm and caring every time I was there. Oh, and the second procedure didn't cost a thing. Because they're just that awesome. If you're looking to get your eyes fix, I highly highly highly recommend them!!! read more

Went to an info night at my optometrist ( Dr Winston) for nvision. I got to hear all about lasik and they ran some tests during the free consultation. I got a discount for signing up during this special night. They talk about payment options and care credit card etc. I scheduled my day with a follow post op. I just complete that this morning. I'm seeing 20/20 and it's just 12 hrs since Dr Lusby worked on my eyes. Day of procedure: come in early. Park. Take elevator to top floor. Sign in. Go over forms. Pay. I got a mini exam to double check everything. Watch a video for instructions. Got a Xanax. Then waited in second room. Got more drops and a hair net. Put on my sweatshirt ( started to get cold). Went in and laid down for like less than 10 min as my driver watched and recorded my lasik procedure. Got up took a pic with Dr Lusby. Took my post op swag bag and went home to sleep. amazing when I woke up for dinner I was seeing very well. Then went back to bed and woke up up for day 1 post op check up and got great results. I've been wanting LASIK done for over 10 years because my mom had the procedure done in 2000 at a different clinic out of state. She thought that it would change my life as much as hers. On 11/14/12, I visited the NVISION clinic for the first time for the free consultation (it really is free!). The staff was so nice to my mom and me, especially April. She was so sweet and told us that her mom got LASIK here, so she trusts all the surgeons completely. She even answered the silliest questions I could think of (like, "What if I move my eye around during the procedure?"). After the eye exam, I was told that I was a candidate for LASIK! I was even scheduled for my surgery for the following week (11/21/12). Before the surgery, my prescription was -5.75 in my right eye, and -5.50 in the left with astigmatism in both eyes. The day of the surgery (11/21/12), I showed up about 20 minutes before my appointment time. I handed in all my paperwork and waited for another 30 minutes before my final eye exam before going in for the surgery. Dr. Rude performed my eye exam for the consultation and the pre-op exam and he was comforting and seemed confident in his work. I was given Xanax and sat in a reclining chair while a nurse put some drops in my eyes before I headed in. Dr. Lusby performed my surgery and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results so far. I've only been a few hours post-op, but I can see as well as I could with glasses or contacts. Before leaving the center, I felt burning in my right eye, like a dry contact was stuck in there. I took the sleeping pill as prescribed and fell asleep right away. But now I'm seeing so well, it's surreal that I'm not wearing contacts or glasses!. I went out for some dinner and a drive-thru and did notice halos. But no other night vision problems. I would recommend NVISION to anyone in the OC area. The doctors do move from Fullerton to other locations in Southern California, which I do think is cool and convenient for those who have their heart set on a surgeon from NVISION. I just got both of my eyes surgery performed by Dr. Lusby at the Fullerton eye center a few days ago. It took me a long time to finally got it done because i was skeptical about the results and the "what if". Boy was i wrong!! I now (a couple days after the surgery) for the first time in my life be able to see far in detail all of the imperfection in my wall and what not. It's like watching everything in HD. I felt like being born again with a perfect vision. Now i am thinking why didn't i get this done sooner?? I want to personally thank my eye Dr. Jan Yoo for referring me to this place. The ability to wake up in the morning and be able to see, or fall asleep at night without having to worry about getting up to take off your contacts is priceless! I heard it so many times from my patients, "I wish I would have done it sooner" and yet it took me 15 years of hassling with contacts before I decided to do it, but like my patients I wish I would have done it sooner. Not sure why we're all so scared to do a procedure that literally takes all but 10 minutes! The fear may come from finding someone you can trust, and I am happy to say that after being an optometrist for 9 years I finally found a trustworthy surgery center with amazing staff and some of the most talented surgeons I've met! Dr Lusby and his surgery techs have the whole thing perfected down to a T, and they work together in the most perfect way, they do everything while you just concentrate on the green blinking light, trust me, the time you're required to not move is no more than a few minutes. Yes they give Xanax, to relax before the procedure, but let me tell you, those sleeping pills they give you to go home with are the real winners of the day! They will knock you out for the rest of the day, which is exactly what you want to do after lasik! I did my procedure 3 days ago and so far so good! I never felt any pain or discomfort, but I also fell asleep as soon as I got home. Thank you Dr Rude, he's so nice and does the last minute check before your surgery just to make sure all the numbers make sense! All in all, I couldn't recommend a better place to get your Lasik done! Stop thinking about it and just do it. One day my wife took the liberty of scheduling me an appointment with NVISION after doing some research and knowing that I needed to get my eyes fixed. I my self is a business owner and all I can say is WOW !! NVISION staff and processes is amazing. My experience with them from the beginning to end was fantastic! You can tell that they truly care about the people they serve. The staff was super friendly and really made me feel at ease with the process. The nightmare of a flap dislodging would only happen to me! I made the dumb mistake of pulling on a cord too hard and it whiplashed and hit me directly in my right eye causing a slight movement of my flap in the lower portion of the eye. I immediately contacted the emergency line as it was at 9pm that this happened and Dr. Lusby responded within 15 mins (great service). I went in the following morning and Dr. Rude took a look at my eye and recommended the flap be smoothed out and I had to come in for surgery the next day. Dr. Lusby took care of my eye in 4 mins and I was brand new again. Lesson learned, always be careful with cords and your eyes. I started wearing glasses in the 5th grade for distance and never liked the idea of touching my eyes for contact lenses. Over the years, the cost of glasses and the hassle of needing them wherever I went was annoying. So when I heard about Lasik, I began to look for a place to have it done. I live in Orange County and preferred it to be nearby. And then of course good reviews about the potential place is a must. I must have spent a week reading about different places on Yelp in my area. I stumbled upon this one and I'm glad i did. Setting up a consultation was easy. The place was east to find. Met with Michelle and Dr. Rude for the consultation and they were both very knowledgable about the process and definitely made me feel good about going through with it. I was able to sign up for Care Credit to help pay for the procedure and depending on your credit, you can have these small monthly payments for less than 2 years. A couple of days later, I scheduled my procedure to be done 2 weeks later. Started the eye drops a week prior. Had a pre op appointment a couple days before to make sure I was good to go. It didn't hit me until the day of, when I was waiting for my turn for the procedure that something would be poking my eye. Dr. Lusby came in to speak with me right before the procedure and he definitely put down some fears I had. I had already taken the Xanax they give you to calm down. As soon as I got in the room, it felt crazy that I was doing this and it was so COLD in there. They even put a blanket on me. As soon as I laid down, Dr. Lusby told me to focus on a green light and I did and I could feel all the tools they were using on my eye, but it wasn't painful, it was just a little bit of discomfort like an eyelash moving around. And 15 minutes later, it was done and an eye shield was taped to my eyes with holes in them. Once in a while, I would take a peek and I could already read street signs. It was AMAZING, but at the same time, I didn't want the flaps they did on my eyes to open up or anything so I purposely just kept my eyes closed the rest of the day. My friend who drove me (because you can't drive the day off the procedure) took a video of the procedure and some parts of it are just so cringe worthy. I couldn't believe the things they were using on my eyes. So after the procedure, my friend drove me home, had some dinner and took the Temazepam they gave me and just knocked out the rest of the day, didn't wake up until 6am and I had my procedure at 4pm. When I woke up, I immediately took off the eye shield and I couldn't believe I could see the clock and read all the posters in my room without squinting. Had my 1 day post op appointment a couple hours later and I couldn't believe I could drive and even go to work the next day (but I chose not to). I was reading business signs, street signs, everything on the way to the appointment. It was like seeing the world again. Had my 1 week post op appointment and I was still seeing halos on lights, but they said it would take about 3 months for my eyes to fully recover, but I my vision was finally 20/20! Also had my 1 month post op appointment and Dr. Rude told me that I had a lot of dryness, which is apparently a common side effect of lasik which usually subsides with a lot of different eye drops. So Dr. Rude had told me to continue with these 2 eyedrops and an eye ointment and if it didn't subside by the 3 month appointment, I would need to have a procedure done to open up my eye ducts. Good thing by the 3 month appointment, after days of religiously putting on eyedrops, I was told my eyes improved in dryness and vision! I still continue with the eyedrops, but not as much as before. So thankful for the staff here! read more

I did my LASIK procedure in June, 2020. It took me many years to finally decide to go through it. It is one of the most incredible thing I have experienced. My consultant Lindsy was very helpful, fast responding, knowledgeable about the processes, understanding, and patient with all my concerns and requests throughout the pre op and surgery processes. She also kindly arranged post op appointments where closer to my area. I just did my three months post op appointment and Dr said my cornea was healing well and vision was 20/15. So happy! After a couple of years of considering LASIK surgery, I finally went in for a free consultation. I considered going for a Doctor with proven experience and came upon DR. Lusby at NVision. At 59 yrs old I had a bad cataract in my reading eye (had LASIK monovision 12 years ago). Dr Nikpoor spent a lot of time determining the proper lens and dialed it in with Dr Rude. She did the surgery on Thursday morning and when I removed the shield on Friday morning my vision was perfect. My goal was to be able to pilot my plane without using glasses and went out Saturday and couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Dr Nikpoor to anyone needing cataract surgery!!! read more

I finally had laser eye surgery here about a month ago and could not be happier with my decision. After my first meeting with the doctors at this center I was completely at ease with the idea of having laser eye surgery.... which is saying a lot, because I'm a wimp. On the day of surgery you come in, they talk to you and explain the process again. The they give you a valium to help you relax, and take you to a dim room until that kicks in. After that you go into the surgery room, all you have to do is lay there and stare at a few blinking lights. Once that's all done, and you're all doped up, they give you a vicoden, tape some eye shields to your face, and send you home with a sleeping pill. Once you wake up, that's when the magic happens..... you can see, even with those stupid things taped to your face!! Today, I am very happy with the results and my decision to choose TLC. If your considering laser eye surgery, I highly recommend the doctors here. read more

I came to this center when it was still TLC Eye Center, over a year ago. Since I just went in for my annual eye exam with my regular optometrist, I feel like it's as good a time as any to write a review about my eye surgery, since my vision HAS fluctuated slightly in the year since. I saw Dr. Dan Tran, but the procedure was 15 minutes long, if that. He seemed friendly enough, but I was also doped up on Xanax - which I appreciated - and so don't remember much about interacting with him. Getting in & out of the center was easy, and the waiting room had some movies going -- which was great as they were running EXTREMELY late for my appointment. A year later, I can still remember that an hour after my scheduled appointment time, my ride home showed up and I was still waiting to go in. They may not always be that backed-up, but it was definitely the biggest downer about the whole experience. The surgery was over quickly, and I headed home to sleep. I rigorously followed the eyedrop regimen in the following weeks, bought really dark sunglasses, and took the Omega vitamins they suggested (NOT mandatory by the way, and pretty expensive!) in the months that followed. I had only minor inflammation a few weeks later, but antibiotic eyedrops procured from my optometrist quickly took care of that. In my first few follow-ups, I was seeing 20/15. I just had my first regular eye exam today, over a year later and I have ALMOST perfect vision. I'm -.25 in one eye. This is totally normal, and still a miracle compared to the -5.75 I was walking into the Center with a year ago. It's still one of the more worthwhile things I've done with my money, and the procedure cost about $3800. That is not cheap, and required some planning on my part. Everyone says it's totally worth it, and I absolutely love having eliminated this nuisance, but $3800 is more than I spend in a year to clothe myself. So If it's not a priority for you, don't get talked into an expensive procedure that can wait until you have the funds saved up...no matter how good their financing deal may be! read more
