He led us to the sitdown restaurant. The restaurant was not supremely busy - at least on the inside. I believe a lot of people were outside because it was a nice day. My buddy got a beer and a shot and we ordered our food. I went with the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Normally, I get a burger or sliders, but it was on the seasonal menu and sounded good. I got it with a side of cajun tots. Then we waited. And waited. And waited some more. It took over an hour before we got our food. To be fair, an older couple that was seated outside right before we were seated inside got their food and about 7-8 minutes later we got ours, so they were making and delivering the food in the correct order. The large table next to our booth had 9 people and they got their appetizers early and then got the rest of their food after we did (they ordered after us, too). I will say the food was very good. I've read some reviews about the lack of meat on the BBQ Brisket sandwich - which is a whopping $25 -- but mine had enough. It does come on a large piece of sandwich, so the bread will fill you up. I couldn't eat everything and left a handful of tots on the plate, so I'm not complaining. From what I heard, the burger one of my friends got was very good and the beer and shot was tasty (aged whisky, I believe he said). Overall, it is a beautiful place. Fortunately for me, I had an experienced guide, otherwise I would have been lost upon getting out of my car. Lots of side areas for smoking cigars or tequila bars and I wouldn't have known where I needed to go to eat. The food was very good, but it took FOREVER. The waiter we had was excellent as well - he checked on us a few times and he recognized the food was taking a long time, but there's nothing he can do about that. The food came out around the order it appears they were placed, which is as fair as you can get. I would definitely come back now that I know where I'm going. I don't make it a point to visit McMenamin's locations like he does, but this is a nice location, the staff is great, the food is very good, and if you like other McMenamin's locations, I bet you will like this one as well.

It had marinated tuna, poke, (the sauce was amazing, I'm not sure of everything that was in the sauce, but I could taste the sesame oil. it did not overpower anything else on the dish, but I knew it was there.). It also had Chips, Cucumber-Pickled Ginger Tsukemono, which is a Japanese relish, green onions, and sesame seeds, and it had both a wasabi aïoli and a Sriracha aïoli drizzle. asked for the sauces on the side, because I wasn't sure how strong they would be. It was amazing! It was a giant portion. The chips were crispy, and not oily at all, there was a very generous portion of the tender poke. I loved the cucumber relish, and the green onion and sesame seeds also went very well with the Dish. I was pleasantly surprised with the two sauces. I could definitely taste the wasabi, and the aïoli kept it from blowing out my sinuses. I normally do not like Sriracha at all, but again, the aïoli mellowed it out. I put some of the sauces on top of the nachos, and also dipped some of the nachos in the sauces. Next time I would definitely have them on top. I had enough to take back to my hotel for a second meal. The price was very reasonable, considering the quantity of the quality of the food. For great meals at McMenamins, I am now 3 for 3. Moving on to the inside , The hotel reception team are professional , kind , full of smiles and service! Literally in my top experiences of hotel check ins! The lobby , market place, bar and lounge area is clean , tidy organized, warm and very welcoming! The rooms are all one bed only , perfect kitchen for the duration of the stay. It was fun to make fresh homemade meals while out of my natural environment! (Pics included :)) The storage capacity fir personal belongings was on point! The bathroom , large , bright , clean and I loved the large walk in shower!! First of all, we have been to many hotels over the years for our anniversaries, but I have never been treated like this in the past. They did some special things for us at this hotel that we have never had done for us before! We were amazed at the way they went above and beyond for us! That is where we met Dominique! She was like icing on the cake. She worked nonstop in the kitchen and dining area to make the breakfast perfect for everyone! She met me the first day and called me by name every day after that! She kept all the food fresh and all the tables clean, like I said, she never stopped!
