So as you can see I am back on my fitness journey trying to find a good fit for myself and after I had tried out the other guy last week lol my sister just wasn't having it and told me I needed to try her gym NXPT La Mesa...so I bought the 10 for $10...you can't beat that!! 10 workouts for 10 dollars within 10 days!! Even if you don't get ALL 10 workouts in its STILL A GREAT DEAL if you just want to try them out!! So far I have attended 3 different bootcamp style classes with 3 different instructors and what I really love about these classes is how fast your heart gets moving and the classes are only 45 minutes BUT believe me when I say 45 MINUTES KILLS ME!!! By the time the class is done my exercise induced asthma is full blown lol I am sweaty and warmed up and just feel GREAT all over!! All of the instructors I have had have been very encouraging and motivating, also they can modify the exercises if you have injuries (like me) or are recovering from injuries (like me) or just plain need to have modifications (like me)!! I swear guys, Let me just say this, I'm 51 and I've been to tons of gyms here in San Diego. Found FIMS a few years back, fell in love and they went out of business. I noticed some of my old FIMS members had migrated to NXPT. So I decided to just go for it and bought a 3 month membership for unlimited classes. Guys this was thee best decision I could have ever made when it comes to fitness. This gym is insane. The energy in this one establishment is astronomical. I could not have found a better place right now for myself to cultivate my health goals. The classes I swear, everyone digs deep and it shows. I've only been going every day for a week. This is the BEST workout camp. I highly recommend coming here. When I arrived on my first day, I was instantly greeted by a trainer who was teaching another class. She welcomed me in and walked me back to the Spin Class where she introduced me to the instructor. The instructor showed me how to adjust my spin bike. It was a fun class! The hot yoga is incredible!! Sheena, Dafna, and Samantha are kind and knowledgeable instructors. Since attending hot yoga here, it's cured my migraines, chronic back pain, and significantly lowered my anxiety. They all have a powerful message to share and spread positivity. They also offer flexibility training with Paige. This is a great class full of stretches you never knew you needed! AMAZING gym with AMAZING coaches. I have been with the gym for 2 months. There is a class time to accommodate every schedule (no excuses) and the classes last 45 minutes. Full body workout for every age and experience level. They offer a heated mobility class that is great. A mix of yoga and stretching in a heated studio. I highly recommend this gym. WOW! I have never been to a gym like this one and am absolutely loving my experience. They have a great deal right now-- $10 for 10 days! I signed up for 10 different classes on each day and they have a variety-- spin, hot yoga, Zumba, and boot-camp. The environment is very open, inclusive, and not judgmental. Was looking for a new gym after moving to la Mesa in February and found one with a lot of accommodated time frames that offered a plethora of different classes. I did my first few classes with the $10 for 10 classes pass. This gym feels like a family and it's been nothing but positive results since! I've done my first Spartan race and have met amazing friends. I am now eager to go to the gym every morning without hesitation. I enjoy the boot camps, cycle classes, CrossFit classes and even yoga. I've been coming to NXPT La Mesa for about 3 years. I started with just the boot camps but now attend a variety of yoga classes and spin class as well. The coaches are all great and have something unique to offer. You feel known at the gym as the coaches all amaze me at how well they remember names. The people who come to the gym are encouraging and super nice. The boot camp format changes weekly and the movements change daily alternating between upper and lower body days and then full body on Fridays and Saturdays. The gym hosts several events throughout the year as well as personal challenges. There are lots of classes and time slots to choose from. Come for a couple months. This place is excellent if you are looking to stay active and fit in a short time. I came here after my ACL surgery. I can't believe that my right leg is looking back to normal. They focused a lot on the core and legs, which helped me gain the muscle I lost in the surgery. The instructors are so friendly too. However, I do recommend washing the turf area more often. The only negative thing I could say about this place is that I wished I had found it sooner! I am a runner and have tried so many different gyms all around East county to try and do some cross training and could never find one that kept me interested. There are so many things I love about this gym: The have classes early in the morning (starting 430 am). They have enough weights for everyone to use the weight they want. They have a variety of classes (spin, hot yoga, X45). The classes are only 45 min but you work hard the whole time (no wasted minutes in easy warm up or cool down). The workouts are always changing and never feel boring and too repetitive. They have wipes and towels at every station to clean up sweat as you move through the workout. The music is great. Most of all the trainers and phenomenal! I always took the 430 am class and Hannibal (I think he's one of the owners) is amazing. He's tough but encouraging. He's a badass himself (runs marathons and other comps) and he truly pushes people to do their best and cares and seems like a genuinely good guy. The yoga (Jeanette ) and spin (Denice) instructors were also amazing. I was injured running but I can't wait to go back there once I am healed from my surgery. This is by far the BEST GYM I have been to and I have been to many. They have a 10 day trial so you can sign up and try all the classes you want for 10 days for free. read more

I tried just a few classes to see what this gym was about and why it is voted #1 in San Diego. Today I look back, 7 months later, and feel privileged to be part of this gym. I now understand why it is SD's #1 gym. NXPT has changed my life, as I am now far more capable, physically, than I have ever been in my life and I believe in myself far more than I previously did. The two men behind this gym--Hannibal and Dan--are incredible people, and that is saying the least. The same goes for just about all of the trainers. Do yourself a favor and join this gym!
