I personally thought it could be better. Stuff shrimp were stuffed with who knows what. They were hard & I had a small bone in the piece I tried..thought I broke a tooth for a minute. The chicken nuggets looked like they sat there forever. I'm not to keen on Chinese/Asian food because of the salt. The pizza was good. The plain shrimp were good. Sesame chicken was ok. The wait staff here is nice and helpful. However, there food in the regular buffet is ok. It usually gives me a headache and doesn't taste that great. I usually go here for the Hibachi and the sushi. They have really good sushi. It's usually fresh and very good. The hibachi is the food where you pick out a rice or noodle and various vegetables and meat and they cook it in front of you with a sauce of your choice. Being soy or teriyaki. The food on the buffet itself isn't that fresh. And it is about $15 a person. Which in my opinion is expensive. read more

This was my second time eating here and first time eating here for my husband. The Hibachi style food that they prepare for you was great, as well as, the sushi. However, when I got a dessert (small square of chocolate cake) there was a DEAD FLY sitting right on top, that I didn't notice until I got back to the table and was about to eat it. They also have Hibachi Grill station where you can choose your own vegetables rice noodles or protein and have The Hibachi chef prepared freshly in front of you. They have a nice looking sushi bar that we tried although we don't normally eat sushi at a buffet. Surprisingly the sushi was very good. Only standard rolls were offered, no specialty or tempura Fried rolls. Large fruit bar and salad bar as well. For dessert they offer a selection of cookies, cheesecake and soft serve ice cream. We did not try any desserts. I think this is a good Buffet for standard Chinese, decent Sushi, and good Hibachi. The restaurant was clean well lit and had excellent service. The price is $12.50 per person and overall a good value. Not good enough for us to make a special trip to Hickory for but good enough to stop again when in the area. read more

Only time I ever eat here, when I do, is on Sunday's ($13.99) cause they "serve" crawfish and mussels. They have a small little tray of crawfish out and it's usually already empty by the time I get there, and stays empty majority of the time. If it is always gone the quickest, they should know to keep making them ASAP so they can refill quickly. After it's gone, takes about a good 30 minutes-hour before they refill it. Went tonight for the first time, and for a Chinese/hibachi buffet I was surprised! Very large for Hickory; I believe other reviewers claims that it could seat 300+. Service was decent, the restaurant was clean, and the food variety was excellent. We were there a bit after the dinner rush which you could tell because some of the dishes were a bit 'tired' and fresh needed to be brought out. We have eaten here fairly regularly since it opened a few years ago. The food is pretty consistent but the pans are frequently empty. Of special note is the wonton soup. There is always broth but the won ton are often absent. One of my main complaints is that they never change a thing. One menu for lunch, one for dinner and nothing ever changes. No new dishes are ever put out. But my biggest complaint is the staff. I have never seen a bunch of unhappier people in my life. They walk around with unsmiling faces every single time we go, It is as if they are miserable and hate their jobs. The servers are not too bad but the hostesses, cashiers and people that work up front....are awful. And it is like that always. They never smile when they greet or seat you, and never smile when they take your money and are not pleasant in any way. I don't expect anyone to have a smile plastered on their face, but these people .....they are unbelievable. You almost feel like you are ruining their day. Beyond that, the food is predictable. It is usually hot and fresh (if the pan is not empty) it would just be nice to change up a few things with some variety. Occasionally, we visit a buffet about 90 minutes from here and their variety is wonderful so it can be done. I think this place would benefit from some re-training of their front-end people with their people skills. But, I think that one of the ladies we see is actually an owner and she never is pleasant or smiles either so I guess that says a lot. If you are that unhappy at your job....move on! Seriously if you find this place to be not worth the money PLEASE contact me so I can call you a fool. Dinner Friday and Saturday nights are the best nights to go. They have some amazing light breaded fried shrimp and the curry chicken when they have it out is delicious. Even the crawdads are good. The hibachi is good, but I honestly go to this place for the sushi. By far hands down the best all you can eat sushi place North of Charlotte. The sushi chef will make anything you ask. I always leave a tip cause he's doing a specific job for me. The sweet tea is always up to par as well. I really have only been to a few places like this place in the WORLD. Buffet food was pretty standard, didn't really have a stand out item to me but the buffet stayed hot and generally full through the noon to one hour while we were there. Came here on a Saturday night expecting to leave a happy camper. Instead I left unsatisfied. The selection of sushi were very bad. It looked like the main chef wasn't working because they ended up putting cream cheese in every roll! Also, when I come to a Chinese buffet, I do not expect to wait for the new fresh food to come out. For example, we had to wait 15 mins for the crawfish to come out. By the time the 15 mins were done, we had probably stuffed ourselves with other foods since we were really hungry. Also, some of the food were left out too long bc nobody touched them. They should definitely be replace with a new batch often. Update: 14May2017 After one year, I'm still waiting on the crawfish.....They still haven't improve on serving one of the better dish in this restaurant. The tray that they put the crawfish in can only fill up to 5 people's plate. So unless you're purposely standing right next to the crawfish tray or be the first 5 in line, don't expect any crawfish to be left for you. read more

went to this place not by choice, had to flag down a waitress after 10 mins of being seated for drinks. had a small plate of general tso's chicken, green beans, and rice. woke up the next morning puking my brains out. obviously the food was no good and the buffet style left me uneasy to begin with. i do not recommend this place at all nor will i ever go here or to another buffet style "restaurant" again. you are clearly an idiot if you go here plus it $17 for myself, clearly overpriced for the quality of the food and service.
