Lots of positive things to say! First off the owner Matt allowed me to bombard him with questions during off hours. I had infinite questions about stock, pricing, ammo, different uses for different things, even what colors were available for which things (Very female of me to care about aesthetics, but whatever, don't judge me.). I promise you, it had to be very annoying, yet he was nothing but friendly and informative all thru out. Not even the slightest hint of annoyance! Definitely a better person than I! Very very impressive! When I finally visited in person, I was met by his brother Jordan and another gentleman (embarrassed I forgot to ask his name). Both were equally as informative and friendly as Matt was! They have anything and everything you need despite the fact that everyone is running out and making purchases right now, understandably, with what is going on in our country. They are keeping up the demand for various guns, ammo, cases (hard and soft), cleaning kits and basically anything else you might dream up. If you do come up with a rare request, I'm sure they'd order it for you, so you're covered! They have a private lot, so no parking on the street. If you are concerned about the plague, the gentlemen there were sporting masks, the customers were sporting masks, and the store capacity is temporarily being limited. Credit cards or cash, either is cool. The shop is clean and organized, if want to ask a thousand questions they got you covered, and if you're more experienced and just wanna grab and go, they won't try and up sell or anything. These are the guys you want! They'll be getting my families business and some of my friends as well. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. If you're reading all these positive reviews about NY Shooter Supply, believe them. Most of us are suspicious of gun shops. Notorious for less than stellar service, not to mention prices. These guys are different. I brought in a cap-n-ball revolver for repair. It was a real "bag job" with parts missing and I was hopeful but didn't expect much. They restored my 36 year old pistol and to boot charged a very reasonable fee. Well under half of what I thought it would be. My gun is beautiful again and they did the work in less than three weeks, considering this was over the christmas holiday and they were closed a few days. Thinking of going to another gun shop??? As an ammunition Reloader I have been looking for a place like this and found most of the things I needed. It was a true find. They could use some more powder varieties but they had lots a great stuff. They were very friendly and professional. I will be driving back many times from Orange County ny to refill my ammo needs and reloading supplies. read more

I live in an apartment building in which the trash cans are kept in a unlit basement (which looks like it could've been a studio back in the day) that's accessible from outside of the building, with one entrance/exit that has no lock, making it a welcome place for anyone to do anything; and those trash cans aren't always where I can keep my hand on the door knob. When I called the property management company that takes my rent and expressed my concerns, I was told to "get a flashlight". I decided to get some pepper spray before dumping my trash after that conversation (and signed up for some self-defense classes too). NY Shooter Supply had a small but good enough selection of pepper spray available. I bought the kind that can't be sprayed if it's pulled from the wrist band. Very Inspector Gadget. I liked that they're above board here, requiring me to complete a short legal document ID-ing myself and swearing I'm not a criminal even though the type I purchased is okay to use in 50 states. Knowing this, I wonder how buying similar stuff through Amazon would've been possible. I hope I don't have to buy more. But if I do, so be it. I'll get it here within an hour as opposed to waiting days-to-weeks ordering it online. read more

These guys are great. I email them so many annoying questions so frequently, yet I'm still getting a quick and thorough response every time. (I know it's only a matter of time before they finally get sick of me, so I figured I'd better write my review now.) The in-shop experience is pleasant as well. Help if you want it, solitude if you don't. I don't know much about guns, so every time I'm in there, I'm basically like, "What's that thing? Can I hold it?" and they gladly pluck it from the wall and tell me about it while I check it out (even though I don't know how to work it) and aim it at the wall and ask dumb questions like, "what does this part do?". It's a treat to have such an easy gun shop so close. Hopefully they can stay there a long time. read more

Well, Matt & Jordan did it again, I asked them if they could order some M1 Garand ammo for me, & the next thing I knew, Jordan let me know that they got two crates of M1 ammo in. The ammo mentioned is 1968 era Pakistani military ammo pre-charged in M1 Garand en bloc clips, non-corrosive, berden primed & ready to ROCK & ROLL!!!!! I just opened up a box, & found it to be very clean, as it was sealed in a metal container since 1968 until Jordan opened it, very nice, very clean. If you have an M1 Garand, or any .30-06 weapon, you'd do well to get this ammo while you can, it won't last forever. My thanks again to Matt & Jordan, you guys are the best. read more

They did not live up to their statement that they will not rest until my expatiations were exceeded. I stopped by the store regarding a trade and purchase. The counter person said that he could not help me but the owner would be in later in the day. He took my information and said that I would be contacted later that day or first thing in the AM. A week later, still without a return call, I called them and a person who identified himself as a principal again took my info and stated he would have an answer for me by the close of business. That was several weeks ago and I have never received a return call. I understand that maybe they could not accommodate my request but at least have the business sense to call and let me know that. I always try to purchase locally first but the store owner has to work at treating customers with respect. read more
