Kirk is a gracious and gregarious instructor who methodically goes over every step of the course to assure that you understand what you are being taught as well as being comfortable with it as well. During the live fire portion of the course safety was of paramount importance and, although the same light-hearted atmosphere was there, he was watching every individual involved in the class with an eagle eye and was ready to quickly jump in if a potential hazardous situation arose.
