Hi, I got my tv "repaired" with Alen. First thing, he came late (no biggie). Second, the tv repair quoted price was alot more than what they told me once the repair was done (Okay, weird, but not gonna make a huge fuss). Third, once the repair was done and we turned it on, the tv turned on but wouldn't turn on/off with the remote. What I was told is that a piece of tape that I had on my tv's power light (buttonless controls) for 16 years is the problem. So I assumed once that was taken off it would work, lo and behold, it did not and this was tested at the appt. So I contact them after their 30 day parts warranty because I thought it might be a remote issue (tried a bunch of different remotes thinking that was the problem). I call to ask what the issue could be and cite the info I was told in the first visit and they tell me it's an IR sensor issue and they have to order it, and asks if I'm okay with that. I say yes. They tell me about the price of the part, but we will now be charging you a new diagnostic fee, home service charge AND Labor fee of $120 for what seems to be a simple fix (through my research). Also, an excuse was given when I wanted to bring it in instead for a cheaper charge, so I had to opt for the in home service. But to me, all of this is crazy because I would think that when did you the first diagnosis that you would know upon seeing the issue or accessing the issue with the remote, that it was an IR sensor problem. So, what was the first diagnostic charge for? When you didn't truly diagnose all of the issues. Beware of this company. And if you must deal with them, make sure to do your research and ask about hidden fees and bloated charges before agreeing to anything. read more

Talk about saving time and money. My 4 year old Samsung TV got a line through the entire middle of the screen overnight. I called NY tv tech repair and they said it sounds like an issue with the screen itself which would be extremely costly to repair. They said they could send a tech to assess it but it would cost $100. Instead, they recommended I send a picture of issue along with model # to them to save the money and so that they could see if repairable. Unfortunately, it seems the issue would need replacement of the entire screen as they guessed and they recommended I get a new TV as the cost of the repair is about 95% of the cost of the TV. I truly value their honesty and extremely quick response / communication. I will absolutely go to them for any future issue and will highly recommend them based on the customer service I received. read more

100% recommend. Came here to get a free estimate on my 55 inch Samsung QLED TV. There weren't any customers in front of me so they immediately were able to start working on my tv. Mikhail explained everything he was doing and easily showed me that he knew what he was doing. He's a true expert and seemed an honest and straightforward person. He fixed my tv that I was ready to throw out and literally replaced a blown capacitor that was the size of the point of a ballpoint pen. I'd definitely come back for future issues and will recommend to everyone. Make sure to call ahead of time to check if other customers are there and explain your issue and have your model number handy. Note: if your screen is cracked or physically broken, the suggestion from Mikhail is to just buy a new tv since replacing the screen itself is very costly and basically gonna be the same as buying a new tv. I had a broken LCD sitting in my room for the past year and I don't know why it took me this long to fix it. I tried to take it into my own hands and replace the fuses. Unfortunately, that didn't work. Last resort was to bring the TV out to a technician because I knew it'd cost me a leg and an arm. I found this hidden technician last minute on Google while I was in the area. I was so confused when I arrived because there were only townhouses when I arrived, no storefront. If you look carefully, there are yellow signs that lead you to the TV Repair shop in the back alley. Mind you, it was 4pm and it was starting to get dark so I was literally scared for my life as I was entering. Low and behold, there was a storefront in a garage and Mikhail and his team addressed the issue, complimented me on attempting to fix the TV myself and said there was one more issue that needed to be fixed. The service definitely costed more than I expected, but at that point, there was no return because the TV was already taken apart waited for it's new part. I left with an empty wallet, but it's okay because my TV is working now! read more

Something in my freezer was leaking and forming puddles on my floor and chunks of ice in my freezer. I called a local technician who wasn't familiar with Liebherr appliances and did nothing but wipe it out and charged me $60. I then called Liebherr and asked them for any authorized technicians that were familiar with their appliances. NY Tech TV Repair was called. They sent out a "technician" who barely spoke English so it was very hard to communicate with her. She checked the freezer and informed me that I needed a new ice machine even though the unit was practically new. I agreed because I didn't know what else to do. Long story short, today the "new" $600 ice maker collapsed into the ice holder and the freezer is still leaking. The technician was here 4 times and I am out almost $1,000 in total. The last time the tech was here, she said I needed a whole new freezer door panel. This place is a money grab and a rip off. On 7/8/22 I had an appointment for my gas dryer to be repaired. The time frame was between 10am and 2pm no communication was given to say the tech was running late. He showed up close to 6pm, proceeded to take apart the dryer, was snipping ends off of pieces and putting them back in the dryer then had to ask my son for help while he reattached the housing. Left with the assumption that the dryer was repaired, he never told me he had to order part(s) and not to use the unit. On doing laundry the next day I found he also put the front housing on incorrectly and left a sharp piece of plastic sticking out which damaged a dress of mine with a big chunk taken out of the back and small holes in the front. I called the shop number given to me by Sears (they are one of their 3rd party contractors for their Protection Agreements) and after was told there were no techs there that day to call Monday and have him come back to fix the damage he did to the dryer. I called and was told the tech "forgot" to tell me he needed to order part(s) and not to use the unit. I requested a different tech be sent and was told no other tech would touch the machine if he damaged it so they needed to send the same one. On Thursday 7/14 a part was delivered (since I was not told how many parts needed to be ordered) I called to get an appointment for the part to be installed and still the damage he created to be fixed. I was given an appointment for Saturday 7/16 between 10am and 2pm) shocker... no one called or showed up. On Tuesday 7/19 another part was delivered (still not sure how many parts we were talking about). I called Sears and was given an appointment for this Friday 7/22 from 10am to 2pm. Was texted this morning by "Katie" saying 3-7pm. After 3 weeks without the dryer no consideration was given to make mine a morning call or at least the first call of the afternoon. When I asked for the name of the technician, shop and address I was refused any information. When I told her I was a senior citizen with mobility issues, and I would be alone in the house late Friday and I wanted this information for security purposes, I was still refused and told to contact Sears. After a lengthy chat with Sears telling them I was concerned about my security and I wanted to know who I was letting in my house I was given the Tech ID#4444247, his name Mikhail, and the shop was NY Tech TV Repair (still not sure how in the world TV repair people were involved in servicing my dryer). I then texted back the shop with the information I was given and asked them to confirm the Nostrand Avenue address (crickets) no response. A few hours later the shop cancelled the Friday appointment with Sears and I received a voice message from Sears telling me to call and open a new service ticket with a different shop. Clearly "red flags" this shop is a scam, only taking jobs they want even though they are under contract (I assume) with Sears to provide this service. Now that their tech is responsible for new damage to the machine they want no part of the job. If you have any kind of a repair agreement with Sears and they offer you service from the 3rd party: NY Tech TV Repair 3130 Nostrand Avenue, Bklyn, NY 11229 And specifically: Tech ID# 4444247 Mikhail Run, don't walk, to the nearest exit... I was looking to repair my smart TV with a suspected a backlight issue. I messaged this business and confirmed that they can give me a free estimate if I bring in my tv. Upon their inspection, they told me it was indeed a backlight issue and was very honest and upfront about the prices and labor to fix it. DO NOT USE THEM!!! Unfortunately they were contracted through Geek Squad to repair my tv. 4 days prior to the appointment I was contacted by them to text/email them my tv serial/model number and a picture/description of what was going on in order for them to "pre-order parts so that the tech could fix your TV right on the spot," all of which I did. When the tech arrived not only did he not have the parts but he had not been given the serial/model number and was unable to unmount my 65" tv from the wall by himself (I had told them the size, that it was mounted and that I was unable to mount it myself in the initial contact as well) and tried to say he would have to make another appointment to come back in a week with someone else to unmount it and take pictures of the stickers with the serial/model number on the back. When I told him I had already provided those and gave them to him again he said he would now need to order parts, wait 3-5 business days for them to come in and then would call to schedule another appointment to actually repair it. This was a waste of everyone's time and completely unprofessional when the company clearly stated that the tv would be fixed on the spot if the required information was provided, which it immediately was. I am attempting to contact Geek Squad and tell them how poorly this company does it's job and find someone else to work with because I do not trust them to adequately fix the problem given the shoddy performance they have already shown. read more

Mikhail (Michael) is amazing! I dropped my TV off and within a week it was ready for pickup! I was unable to lovate my power cord and Mikhail told me to bring in a picture of my prongs and supplied me with one for free. Unfortunately my Tv stopped working within minutes of hooking the power supply up however Mikhail told me to drop it off so that he could look at it free of charge! Did I also mentioned that at one point, I locked myself out of my car and Mikhail was able to open my car door?! Talk about superman! I admire him for the work he does and it's a reasonable price. My Sony Bravia, ~4 years old, recently stopped working. Indicator light was blinking, screen was blank. Considering it was only lightly used and that it was in perfectly good shape, I decided to have it repaired. After a bit of Googling and trying to find a reputable repair shop, this was the best one I could find near my home. I will admit, I was hesitant at first. Some of the reviews were not so good, and I couldn't quite find the business on Google places. NONETHELESS, there were a number of recent positive reviews, so I decided to get it fixed. Right after explaining the issue to the owner, he immediately and confidently knew what cause was, and could nearly pinpoint the exact part that needed to be fixed without even taking the TV apart. The repair quote was reasonable - and guess what! The TV was fixed in under 3 hours. The owner was extremely knowledgeable & courteous. If you need a TV repaired, this should be your go-to place, as that's what they specialize in. As of right now the TV is working perfectly, but I will update my review if necessary. They opened it up, showed me that it was the motherboard and not the power unit by disconnecting the two, ordered the new part online, showed me the online part price on the supplier site, and were done in a few days. Purchased the extended warranty on my GE oven/stove and was forced to use this company. They are not trained and insist on installing generic parts that they "have in their bag", which fail immediately. My 89 year old aunt told me that her 15 inch Sony TV stopped working. I Googled TV repair and found NY Tech. I brought the TV to the shop and spoke with Michael. He showed me a laminated card with his price list and how much the repair would cost me. Total transparency. His lovely assistant (Natalia?) took my information as Michael looked at the set. He plugged it in and pushed a couple of buttons and the TV worked. Apparently, my aunt may have inadvertently pushed a button. I asked Michael how much I owed him and he told me "No charge. I knew exactly what was wrong with my TV: the HDMI connection got loose inside. Everything else worked fine. People told me to just go and buy a new one, but that felt wrong, and would have cost $500-$600 or more. I picked these guys pretty much out of thin air, i.e., Google. Set up an appointment on their web site. They called and let me know that the technician will come to my home (UWS). He was in on time. Sadly, he couldn't finish the job, so he took the TV with him to the shop. (Was I worried that I'll never see it again? Well, like I said, there was always the notion that I need to buy a new one anyway...) Three days later they call me, say it's ready. They came by and left the TV with the doorman at my building, so I didn't have to stay home from work. It works just fine now. Total cost - 2 x $65 for labor + another $60 for parts, delivery, taxes and what not. Expensive? I guess, but I doubt you can get much cheaper nowadays, certainly not without carrying the TV yourself to someone's shop. And, bottom line, they fixed it, they were on time, everything worked smoothly by phone and web... and I didn't have to buy a new TV. They don't take checks (!). But you can pay on line, through PayPal. read more

I don't know about the guy who gave them 1 star and dealt with them online, but I have been to them in person a few times and they are nothing but EXCELLENT! They've repaired 6 TV's/Screens for me. The most recent time I was there was because the power supply on one of my 52" LG display monitors (for an advertising business) died. I was able to figure out that it was some fried capacitors on the power supply, so I took it apart and tried to order a replacement power supply online, but they were impossible to find. I would have to replace the capacitors manually if I wanted this sucker to ever work again, but it would be too time consuming. I called NY TECH TV, explained the problem. They were professional and were quite fascinated that I had the ability to do all this myself (I'm an engineer, so I learned this in college) and gave me an estimate to replace the capacitors on the board. I likje that they didn't try to scam me and they were straightforward and honest. Same day service and $45 bucks later I pop the power supply back into the display and VOILA! Its still working today. I'm still waiting for the power supply on the other one to go so that I can go back to them, lol. read more

I highly recommend these guys. I bought a new Samsung 4k HDTV from a company called Adorama. When I bought the TV, it happened to have a serious flaw that I thought could be ignored, but it just couldn't. There were 3 dark spots on the screen that were very distracting from watching the content on TV. I called these guys up, and they were able to 100% successfully neutralize my problem all in 2 days time. They ordered a new screen to replace the screen my TV was equipped w and the repairer placed it on. I was very, very satisfied w the results. Sometimes I thought about throwing away the TV and buying a new one. But these guys came through! And best of all, I didn't need to pay a single cent. I highly recommend this company and their Appliance Repair service to anyone in the whole USA. My experience consisted of repairs to my microwave oven control panel. After trying to get it repaired locally (Olympia, WA) and from Sears Parts AND the manufacture (GE) to no avail (neither could fix, only sell me new); I had to go nearly 3 thousand miles away for help (Brooklyn, NY). And help I got! I was able to send them by USPS 2 Day Priority Mail the control panel on a Saturday, received by them on the following Monday and they returned the repaired part to me on Wednesday! All in the same week (5 days!). I'm pleased to report that the repaired part works perfectly - just like new. I can't say enough about this company. DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR REPAIRS! P.S.
