On the next day she was admitted into hospital. All the staff we met when she stayed there were responsible, kind, and patient. Especially Dr. Fritzgerald Estinfa, who was in charge of my mother in ER, was very experienced and rich in medical knowledge. He diagnosed accurately and gave the best treatment quickly. He was also very patient when explaining the situation to my mother and persuaded her to accept the next step treatment ASAP, which allowed her symptoms to be relieved the next day without need of surgery. In a word Dr. Fritzgerald Estinfa is not only excellent in his medical practice, but also sincerely concerned for his patient's well being, and care for their emotion need as well. Thanks Dr. Fritzgerald Estinfa and Good Samaritan Hospital, who gave my mother a wonderful experience in a urgent health problem.

They were very concerned not only for my husband but for his family too. I received updated during his surgery with this special App called "Family First" my kids and some friends were able to be updated through Harry's surgery.. This was very much appreciated. And comforting. The nurse Lisa would actually call me at home when he made any progress. Mike the nurse was my husband's favorite nurse. The experience was a great one even in a very scary situation. We also had a private waiting room that was very helpful for family to gather.

They concluded that I was having a heart attack, administered the correct medications before sending my by ambulance to a hospital that had a Cardiac Catheterization lab where a stent was inserted into a 99% blocked artery. This is my second review. It seems like I go here a lot, but I had a bunch of respiratory issues…read morethis cold season that turned into infections and eventually costochondritis. I went in to be seen for a totally separate issue tonight, and I'm even more certain I will never recommend or go to this hospital again. I have a semi-large dark red welt on my shin that's hot, very hard, itchy with small pustules (sorry lol) that started as a mosquito bite a week ago. I went in to be seen because it has rapidly gotten worse along with a sore throat. First, the nurse who took my initial vitals randomly said "you've been here a lot recently, are you okay?" I briefly explained the respiratory stuff and the costochondritis and that this was a separate issue. It was a strange and inappropriate comment that was completely unnecessary and medically unprofessional. The doctor who came in to examine me took one look at my leg and said "that's not infected." I explained how it's been getting worse over a long period and rapidly in the last 24 hours, and that it was throbbing, painful, hard, and hot to the touch. I showed her a photo of the area this morning looking significantly better than now. She said it's nothing and that it looks like a mosquito bite I scratched a little too much. I said "I haven't scratched it, can you do a skin culture to check for bacteria?" and she said "there's nothing for me to culture" even though the area has clear pustules. She said "I'll check you for strep and give you a general antibiotic just in case it could turn into an infection." and quickly walked out. The strep was negative, and I was discharged with an antibiotic for Cellulitis (skin infection) and, interestingly enough, my diagnosis on my chart was a skin infection, not a bug bite I "scratched too hard". I'm left waiting to fill the antibiotic prescription until tomorrow, while the area is spreading and rapidly getting worse. This hospital, whether from negligent staff or overall systemic guideline issues, has completely disregarded my medical emergency and dismissed it. They are not objective with every new visit, they look at past visits and judge the frequency of them. They are careless with patients dealing with pain, e.g. when they repeatedly dropped my bed incline when handling me, jolting me, not helping me sit up and lie back while in clear excruciating abdominal pain (as discussed in my first review). I will be getting a second opinion, and directing anything urgent to another facility.

They would call him, and I should follow up in the new year. I called right after Jan. 1. They said they did not have my paperwork or any record I had even spoken to them. I went for a different test last month. I called and called for results. I left messages and they never got back to me. I finally got a call back from a patient advocate who was full of attitude and said they had no responsibility to give me the results and to check with my doctor. I asked if someone could've called me back to tell me that? And she said no, that wasn't their problem. Very nice. I'd rather go to a veterinarian than return to Good Sam.

They were originally going to bring to Valley hospital in Paramus, but decided at the last minute that they did not have a trauma unit so Good Sam would be the place to go. Throughout the 24 hour visit, the nurses were kind and responsive but definitely seemed pretty busy and it was hard to flag them down when we needed an extra blanket, for example. We had 3 to 4 different doctors checking in from various departments including internal medicine, on call Dr and Head of the Trauma unit which was great because we got a wide range of specialists. We appreciated their thoroughness and gentle manner when going through the details from the accident and how it impacted the body, results from xray and such. Not once did we feel rushed or that they genuinely didn't care. Unfortunately, it was a very busy night so although we had a room initially in the unit, they were not able to move us to a quieter place to rest overnight until late into the evening. They were patients laying in the hallways on beds to the lack of rooms. Not sure if it is always like this or it was just one of those days, but it made it pretty loud and I'm sure those patients were uncomfortable. Would 100% come back here if I needed to go to an ER or a trauma unit.
