There are two sisters that own the company and they are so sweet... In the dance business for over 30 years. This was my first year with them and I have two little beginner dancers. There are girls and boys (not many... but they are there) in the classes. Our classes ran from september till June. The school is reasonable and if you miss your scheduled lesson, you have the option to make it up on an alternate day as long as the same age group has a class - only problem is the different day may be doing a different routine. We just had our first dance recital. The costumes were priced reasonably and they were beautiful. The recital was at CSI and the venue was very nice for all. I really love all the instructors and the staff. I will be re-enrolling my girls here in the fall and highly reccomend this dance school to beginner dance families and experienced. They have extra classes in addition to tap and ballet and extra dance companies and clinics. Don't hesitate to enroll here!

I respect others opinion but I like to express mine when it comes to sending my daughter to Dance,…read moreDance, Dance... I understand some of the reasoning behind teachers not wanting parents to watch during classes: I am totally against allowing parents to watch the class each week. I believe parents watching the class is a real distraction for the children. After all it is a 'class' where the children are learning... you aren't allowed to sit and watch your children at primary/high school to ensure they are progressing and behaving. Most teachers like myself are happy to talk to parents after class if they have any queries about their child. I am VERY against parents watching! Whenever they come into the room, they watch so closely and carefully, and all the girls get distracted by them! I don't think that parents should be able to watch dance classes, and thankfully they don't at the dance school my daughter attends. Dancing is a SCHOOL. DO parents watch their children 24/7 at SCHOOL? I don't think so! Dancing should be just the same! * If you watch the classes every week, then by the time the concert has come, parents aren't surprised and entertained by the routines. * You can't tell how much your child has improved by watching every week, as compared to once-a-year concerts or comps. * It is scary when you have, say 15 parents watching you closely each week. It leaves no time for imagination in class, and it all has to be work, work, work otherwise the parents might get angry. * If a student just started and is not doing well since it's their first time, they don't want 15 parents staring at then. This will prevent the child/ren not to participate because all eyes are on her. Having parents stay in the dance class is easily distracted and tends to make other students nervous. I think this is part of the reason's parents are not allowed to watch. Having been in both situations, I would say it's better for the parents to not watch, because otherwise it makes it so much harder for the child As far as the staff. I love that they are straight to the point. Yes, it may come off to some parents as if they are being rude but trust me, they are not. They don't sugar coat anything. They care about what they are doing. I love that they are an actual dance school that teaches just as if they were in a classroom. The structure they provided allows the students to build character and believe in themselves. We are the biggest critics when we are looking at our children at dance. Enough to get upset because we feel they are not paying attention. This could live a big impact on your child/ren because now they don't know who is correct you the parent or the teacher who is certified to teach the class. Ms. Melluzzo

If you go to competition they will ask you pay few hundred dollar for each dance costume, if you join a competition they require 4 dance, you need to pay more than 1 thousand only for the clothes. Hotel fee and application fee, a lot! all about the money! Some parties are holding in the school are mandatory you need to go. If you choose not to go, they will charge you few hundred dollar! The worst thing is they don't care about the kids all they care about is the money the staff is beyond rude I regret taking my daughter here. I took my daughter out early because of the rude staff who only care about money and asked for my security deposit back which is the last month they told me NO! They are thieves!! DISGUSTING!!!!

If I ever have children, I would never allow them to attend this institution's summer day camp or…read moreafter school programs. I was a summer camp counselor at Goodhue for two summers when I was in college and what I saw take place there was disturbing. The basic concept that the camp runs on is admirable--providing wholesome and enriching experiences to children from a variety of racial and socio-economic backgrounds that they can share together. The problem is that many of the children accepted into the summer camp are from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds and some of them have severe emotional problems which the camp counselors (many of whom are high school or college students) are not qualified to deal with. Some of the children enrolled when I was there were in need of professional psychological services and trying to lead them through the routine summer camp activities (arts and crafts, sports, summer group activities i.e. boating) was not fun for them and placed the well-being of other children at risk. Overall the adminstration had a very non-supportive attitude towards employees in a very difficult job. The administration should have limited the size of the groups which the children were placed in (groups of 20 kids were the norm at the summer camp) so that counselors could have provided more attention to each child. The best case would have been if the adminstration had hired counselors who had the training to deal with emotionally disturbed children.
