Rainbow Bagel with birthday cake cream cheese

Went in at 7:10 and much of the bagel flavors were missing. Kids got rainbow bagel STUFFED with cream cheese but then my everything bagel barely had any cream cheese and only on one side. When I asked why that was, they said it was because of the egg and when I said there was barely any there, they didn't offer to add a little more. Bagels were hard to bite into, service was lacking, drinks came way after the bagels. They seemed understaffed and unprepared.

After visiting a few bagel shops in New York City recently, I wanted to replicate the experience here in Dallas, Texas. I picked this spot because its name--NYC Bagel & Deli--caught my eye. I ordered a wheat bagel with veggie cream cheese, and it was delicious! The bagel was nicely toasted with a nice chewy texture, but the standout was the veggie cream cheese. It was rich and creamy, with small pieces of fresh veggies like carrots, bell peppers, and celery that added a nice crunch. I also got a coffee, which was just fine. Besides bagels, they offer an impressive selection of muffins. I tried the pistachio muffin, which was fresh, fluffy, and nutty--almost rivaling the bagel. The shop has a casual, welcoming vibe with a few tables along the wall. The staff member who helped me was friendly and patient, taking the time to explain the different bagel options. I'm not sure I replicated the true NYC bagel experience, but I definitely had a good breakfast here in Texas! I'll be back to try more.

Went in this morning to get a bagel and decided on a chocolate chip muffin. Split it in half for me and my husband, this was the inside.

Came here to try out their selection of bagels but unfortunately we did not get a chance to. Will give them a few weeks and will return, but the wait to even get our order was very long. Everyone who had already ordered was also waiting quite awhile for their orders. After 20+ minutes of waiting in line, we had to leave. The restaurant looks clean and there's plenty of room for seating but overall service needs to be a little bit quicker. Hoping it will get better for them!

Being from NY I was excited to see this place and immediately told my husband that we had to check it out. Upon arrival there were a good amount of people there waiting. I also noticed that the majority of the bagel bins were empty as well. I thought that was a good sign but probably not so much as it wasn't late in the day. I arrived at about 10:30am. It took a while for me to be able to place my order and there was only one person ahead of me. For two bagels with cream cheese from walking in to waking out it took about 35-40 minutes which is a bit too long. They seemed to be more concerned with the mobile ordered that were coming in verse the people that were in front of them placing an order. The operation could definitely use some fine tuning. The gentleman that rang me up was kind. The true test to see if a bagel is good is to get it not toasted. I went with an egg bagel with cream cheese. They didn't skimp on the cream cheese but it was a bit excessive for me personally. The bagel wasn't as soft as it should have been. It almost like they kept it in the oven too long. These are not New York bagels by any stretch of the imagination. Sadly, I won't be returning here.

Wow, it's great to have a New York Style bagel shop in this neighborhood. I loved the previous bagel place so I was surprised to find this opened in its spot. The bagels are soft and there is good variety. The sandwiches kind of look a lot like the previous menu. What was great was that there was no line, lots of bagels to choose from, beautiful laid out display, easy to order. Service was a little slow but hey, maybe they are training their staff. I'd give it a few weeks and come back once they get in their groove. I love that they do have egg bagel, I just wish they had egg salad to go with!

We came on opening day for breakfast. While there are some issues with work flow, the food itself was good. I definitely recommend the garlic rosemary bagel. You taste all the flavors as promised and it is absolutely delicious. We ordered a breakfast sandwich with turkey sausage, and their bagel and lox. The bagels come pretty stuffed and are hearty. They have alternate meat options other than just bacon or pork sausage. They have a wide variety of spreads and I'm looking forward to trying them all. Staff was very friendly and asked how our experience was as we left. We were there early and I believe we were the second or third customers. Our food came out quickly but one did come out before the other. The coffee I ordered to a little longer and was not hot (it was more warm than hot). I'm assuming it was like that because the cream/milk added was cold and balanced out the heat from the coffee. I hope as time passes they address these issues. Still, given that it was their first day I'm sure they'll work on their processes.

No bueno. My wife is from NY and wanted to try this place. Most of the bagels tasted burnt. And the bagels are extremely dense. If you like burnt popcorn taste, this is the place for you. I'll stick with Einstein.

A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering! NYC Bagel and Deli completely won me over! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, it's clear they genuinely care about their customers. The vibe inside is clean and inviting, and it was easy to see this place is loved by locals because they were already sold out of a few bagel and muffin flavors (pro tip: the raspberry cream muffin is a must if you can snag one!). The bagel sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and packed with generous fillings. That colorful rainbow bagel added such a fun twist too. And here's the kicker: I grabbed six bagels to go for only $11.49, which is a few cents cheaper than Einstein's and honestly better quality. This spot feels like a bit of a hidden gem, but I have a feeling it won't stay that way for long. I'll definitely be back soon.

Loaded potatoes with my added ketchup. Nothing to see here, right?!

I ordered a BLT on Texas toast with mayo, lettuce, tomato, chicken and loaded potato fries, and I was very disappointed. The sandwich was awful. I added chicken, but instead of sliced chicken, they threw chunks of dried chicken on it. The bacon wasn't even in strips, it was crumbled like you'd expect on the loaded potatoes, not a sandwich. It just didn't work. The "loaded" potatoes were also a letdown. They only came with cheese and very unlike the picture online and an overwhelming amount of green onions, definitely not what I was expecting. Overall, this meal was $33, poorly put together and not enjoyable at all. I do not recommend. I wish I could give zero stars.

Top pastrami sandwich Bottom egg and cheese with ketchup.

Ordered these on croissants. Top pastrami sandwich Bottom egg and cheese with ketchup (iykyk). We got white bread instead. On bagels would have made it felt a lot less insulting And the rainbow bagel gave us a chuckle. But it was actually kinda good and fluffy

Waited way too long for an overpriced bagel that is mid at best. Better off going to Benny's bagels five minutes down the road.

I found The Sandwich Spot on Yelp after searching for Dutch Crunch bread. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the irresistible aroma of fresh vegetables and warm, crusty bread--if happiness had a scent, this would be it! Their sandwich selection is impressive. I originally drove an hour (one-way!) just for the Dutch Crunch rolls. Then I walked in, got greeted with that heavenly smell and super friendly vibes, and there was no way I was leaving without a sandwich. I went with the BLT, and let me tell you: it was loaded with crispy bacon and absolutely delicious. The place is spotless, including the restroom, and the customer service is top-notch. I called ahead to check on the Dutch Crunch rolls, and you could literally hear the smile through the phone. Jeff is fantastic, and the entire team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative--thanking me multiple times for stopping by. I highly recommend The Sandwich Spot. I'd will be making the drive again and again for the food and the friendly service.

At a minimum, I expect it to have at least as much filling as Jersey Mike's sandwiches. It certainly doesn't. Additionally, Jersey Mike's makes a better sandwich. They just do. Bottom line: very nice people are running this place without question. However, I likely won't return. It's just not worth the significant premium they charge for their sandwiches, when you can go to Jersey Mike's, get a much bigger and better sandwich, for a much better price. The portion size was simply unacceptable for the price. I do wish them the best of luck, as they are clearly good people.

The Nutty Creation Is the One to Order…read more Elke's Market Cafe is a cozy, approachable spot that does simple things well. The standout for me is Elke's Nutty Creation, and now that I know what's in it, it makes complete sense why it's so good. The combination of pecan cheddar spread, bacon, candied jalapeños, and peach preserves on toasted molasses wheat bread hits that perfect sweet-savory balance. It's rich without being heavy, a little sweet, a little salty, and just enough heat to keep it interesting. One of those sandwiches that sounds unusual, but works surprisingly well. The café itself has a relaxed, welcoming feel, and service is friendly and easygoing. A great spot for a casual lunch when you want something comforting, but a little different. If you're unsure what to order, the Nutty Creation is absolutely worth trying.

Updated review: 2/23/26…read more FOOD: The food here is always consistently good & has been over the years. The ownership changed hands after the pandemic, but the quality of the food has remained unchanged. It is a great place to go for just about anything. I especially love the soups and sandwiches. The only deduction in a star is I wish they had the chicken & wild rice consistently more available on the market side and a few more dessert offerings in the restaurant. All they have is lemon bars, cookies, banana pudding. I would like to see a daily pie special. ATMOSPHERE: This is a solid place, clean, good for kids, families, ok for a first date and coffee--definitely not romantic. It is always clean and neat. SERVICE: You order at the register and they bring it out to you, but it is pretty low-key. All team members are great. TIP: Pick up a freezer meal when you leave. Their casseroles and dips are great for emergencies or a night off.
