    The mix up. Yummy.

This potato was without a doubt a stomach turner. I'm new to potatoes being the size of Idaho but surely such potato does not require all of Wisconsin's cheese. Truly, when I laid my eyes on this potato I stuck my fork in to see if there was any potato underneath. In a way I wish I hadn't done that because while yes there was potato I had to go through copious amounts of cheese. In doing so I ran into some white gritty stuff which turned out to be the sour cream. Oy. I'm going to cut to the chase. We finally get to the mix it all together part. Stirring, folding, stabbing proved futile. Because the potato was dry as a bone and the cheese hardening there was simply no way to mix it all up. Next attempt was putting some butter in the potato and microwaving it. Success? After removing the cheese which sadly took the bacon bits and chives with it the potato looked like your every day plain Jane baked potato. Unfortunately plain is what I ended up with. How did it taste you ask? Put a potato in the oven, bake for an hour, throw some butter on it and there you go. The very same taste I got when I took that 1st and only bite.

I haven't been inside a Jason's Deli in over five years and had the pleasure and privilege of salvaging my neglected relationship with the chain by deciding to stop here for lunch. My fiance and I were looking for a place to eat on the way to Dallas, we saw this location coming up, conveniently located right off the highway, so the choice was easy. Upon entering, we saw a long line but that was quickly taken care of by the manager working the order counter - he was courteous and took our order quickly. We waited for our order no longer than ten minutes, our sandwiches were warm and toasty when they were brought to our table. We were really impressed with the fruit - it wasn't the usual bottom-of-the-barrel, borderline fermenting, sad potpourri of grapes and melon you get at restaurants sometimes for the fruit side, no no. The fruit cup had several fat, juicy strawberries, plump grapes, and fresh pineapple. My fiance was pleasantly surprised with the chipotle chicken panini, and I ordered my former favorite - the Amy's Turkey-O. My only gripe with it is the mustard wasn't very spicy, and the turkey portion was smaller than I remember. Otherwise, delicious! We topped off our meal with a soft serve cone, the machine was a little dirty but it's literally free soft serve so I will not be complaining about that.

Every once in a while I get a craving for a salad and Jason's Deli never disappoints. I always go for the half sandwich with a trip to the salad bar. I can build my salad with all the goodies I want. Always hits the spot. The icing on the cake is the ice cream at the end.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Many tables had dirty dishes on them. Salad bar is pretty good but wish they had more options. Price is pretty steep for something like a big salad.

Finally Jason's deli online ordering system lets me put in gift card (you would think it's already there...). Placed an salad order online and did curbside pickup. It was easy and quick. Make sure you call after parking so the staff knows you're here. Quick and easy! Food was packed well and it tasted great! Keep it up!

Things have improved, at least they no longer ask if you want tomatoes and lettuce with your corn beef sandwich.

It had the smell of old grease which I thought was a little off putting but needless to say, I decided to go ahead and give ut a shot, so ordered the Italian sub minus the pickles because I'm not a big fan of pickles on the Italian sub.. it looked great but as soon as I took a bite, the bread completely fell apart in the center and then I also noticed that the meat was very thick and I didn't love that .. I took a few more bites and didn't finish. Bread seemed stale didn't love the taste and it was very messy as a result of bread crumbling and falling apart so way to difficult to eat additionally some of the meat was tough with too much fat for my liking. Just didn't do it for me! Some may like though .. counter service was friendly so no complaints there .. sub was a bit over $9 for a 6 inch.

We were warmly greeted by staff as soon as we walked in. We were given a brief explanation of the menu afterwards we placed our order. As expected my son ordered the Cuban sandwich with extra pickles, he opted for the combo that added either fries or a bag of chips and a drink, my son chose the fries. We sat in the dining area while waiting for our order. The dining area was very clean and spacious. After a short wait, our food was delivered to our table. When we were leaving the clerk held the door for us, which I thought was very nice. My son snacked on his fries on the way home and he commented about how fresh and hot the fries were. Once home he opened the sandwich and was happy to see the extra pickles he requested. The sandwich was a bit larger than the ones from other places. He said it was very tasty, his only gripe was the amount of mayonnaise, it was too much for him. Other than that small issue, he said he enjoyed the sandwich and would definitely visit the place again. I can't wait to try out some of their menu items in the future!

Cut into it and that runny yolk pours right over the warm corned beef, adding an extra layer of rich, creamy goodness. Messy in exactly the right way. We also had the liver pâté and egg salad, along with the classic pickles and crunchy bagel chips. Everything tasted fresh, generous, and exactly like a great old-school deli meal should. There are plenty of places to get a sandwich in Dallas, but when it comes to this kind of deli food, Deli News is hard to beat. Great portions, great flavors, and food that makes you want to come back before you've even finished lunch. That corned beef, egg, and runny yolk combination alone is worth the trip. Cannot beat it anywhere in Dallas.

First, the spot is actually really cozy and has a well-maintained neighborhood vibe. It's self-seating so we picked a spot near the huge flatscreen so we could also watch a little television. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu is HUGE, so maybe study it a bit to cut down on decision fatigue. I was initially torn between a breakfast plate and the cheese blintzes. I figured, why not go with the blintzes, because you don't really see as an option much these days. I also got a side of cherry compote and orange juice. The orange juice was nice and pulpy. As for the cheese blintzes and the cherry compote- I think I could've done without it- it made it too sweet. But, it was served in the side, so iI just didn't eat much of it. The blintzes themselves were very good and definitely had a very gratifying texture. Slightly sweet on their own, but not too much. My husband had the franks and beans. I didn't try them, but I did snag a French fry and it was very good- golden and perfectly crispy with a piping hot soft center. Prices were a bit steep, but this is a neighborhood restaurant and iI think it's always good to support locally when you can. Goodness knows, prices for goods is high and labor is not cheap. Overall, I would definitely consider coming here again, but this time I would like to try one of their breakfast plates to get a better baseline.
