They did not try to upsell us on the latest fad in treatment and were very straightforward when answering our questions, unlike some companies that turn every question into a sales pitch. Both Katrina and Eunice were a pleasure to work with. Once we approved the written quote, we were able to schedule them for a weekend treatment, which most other companies were not able to accommodate. They always emailed quotes, receipts and instructions promptly, and provided a certificate or insurance for our building to approve. I've never worked with a company that was so professional and on top of the paperwork. I love the calendar invites that make sure we're on the same page. On the day of, they called to let us know a more specific time for when the technician would be arriving during the 3 hour window, and they kept us informed when he was running late so we were always kept in the loop. The technician, Tony, was very transparent and informative about their treatment process and put us at ease. I also wanted to note that their instructions included pictures that were very helpful and made them easier to follow. Other companies' documents were confusing and hard to understand. We also appreciated that they had tools that could go behind the outlet covers, which is safer because it prevents the dust from coming out. Every other company needed us to remove the outlet covers ourselves as part of preparation. Overall, this has been a great experience so far. I'll post another review in a few weeks after the follow up treatment!

After seeing evidence of a rat, and meeting the large guy in my basement, I tried to resolve the…read moreissue myself. I found a crack in a roof drain pipe near the main sewer outlet to the street. Sealed the likely entrance, built trap boxes ( YouTube... ) and used various baits. Rats are extremely smart and fast. He'd get the food but not caught. After a a few weeks I gave in and searched for an exterinator. The reviews about Joe prompted me to get in touch. The reviews describe him perfectly ! He came the next day. We spent almost 2 hours going around the house inspecting for evidence of entry points, nests, activity as well as getting to know each other. He is truly a nice guy who knows his craft ! Joe seemed impressed by my approach. Thought, based on what he saw, that there might only be the one and didn't see any obvious additional enrty points. He suggested a few new baits and traps and we decided to stay in touch before moving to poison. He refused payment for his time and advice. He promptly replied to my status texts over the next few days. Nobody caught, no success... until I got him ! Sent Joe pictures. Recieved a congratulations reply ! Now going to keep monitoring for a few weeks, traps set. Maybe my problem is solved. Fingers crossed my visitor didn't have friends and family. After several different chats, Chelsea Pet control accommodated me right away and saw me briefly after. We had an exterminator come over and spray the first two times, but the issue still did not seem to go away. Although he was extremely friendly and we loved his personality and kindness, we knew we needed a more advanced technician. We were not satisfied yet, there was definitely a lot of questions left unanswered. I messaged Chelsea Pest Control to request another technician to have another look themselves and see if someone else can figure it out, and then they sent over Sammy. In a matter of MINUTES, Sammy was able to detect the problem and what was causing this infestation! He was confident and diligent, not afraid to get his hands dirty. You can tell he works hard and is extremely determined to finding a solution NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES. He took the extra time to spray our apartment extra, give us a clear explanation on how to stop it, and answered all my questions and concerns confidently and patiently. Sammy was the technician I needed this whole time to solve all of my problems. We could have not done it without him! Luis picked up the phone early in the morning, had me send a photo of my bites to him, confirmed that they were most likely bb's and had Danny come that morning to confirm. Danny is very thorough and clear with advice and options, all while keeping you calm. Having been through this before, I decided to treat rather than wait. In keeping up with the times, they have added an additional treatment along with Aprehend to make the extermination even more effective. The matter was taken care of in a few hours, and I am so grateful. With the method they use I didn't have to put all my clothes in bags and only had to do my dirty laundry, which alleviates some of the stress from the situation. While I heartily wish I don't see them for a good long while (if ever lol), I can't recommend this company, Danny, Luis and Liz enough.

Justin was very informative and willing to answer any questions I had. I woke up this morning in a panic…read morebecause I had several areas of linear bug bites (18 to be precise) on my arms and shoulders.. which if you're here on this page, you've likely googled and seen that that is prime territory/appearance for bed bug bites! I reached out to Stan and he asked me several good questions to truly assess the situation PRIOR to scheduling a home search to see if it was even necessary in the first place! He thoroughly educated me on bed bugs and I learned that my situation doesn't really present like a bed bug infestation. He discussed other options for me to figure out the source of my bites (many of which are inexpensive) while also discussing my options for having M&M support me and help me with my issue. If I EVER am unfortunate enough to really have a problem I am definitely coming back to these guys! They are knowledgeable and trustworthy- not just trying to take your money! Before deciding on this company, I called two other local companies, both of which were expensive and were insisting upon a canine inspection. After reading other 5-star reviews for Northeastern Exterminating, I decided to give them a call, and I'm glad I did. I explained my issue to Joe, who worked to calm my nerves about this situation and thoroughly explained everything that would occur with his company's home inspection, to be performed by his son, James. I wanted an appointment ASAP, and although Joe could only offer me an appointment for several days later, he assured me that he would keep my number at the ready just in case they had a cancellation. The night before my inspection, I received a text message from James confirming the time he would arrive, the price that was agreed upon, and simple instructions for how to prep for the inspection. The next morning, I received another text about an hour before the scheduled time to pinpoint the exact time he would be arriving - which is insanely helpful and courteous. Upon arrival, right on time, James asked me about my situation and immediately got to work performing a thorough and comprehensive inspection of the three bedrooms in my house, from floor to ceiling. The bed, box springs, bed frames, baseboards, etc. everything was carefully inspected while he explained what he was doing, what he was looking for, and even what I could do in the future to put my mind at ease. He made sure to look at everything I asked him to, and could not have been more easygoing and professional. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Prompt, affordable, knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. On top of that, they are a family-run business, which is always a good thing. Give them a call and you will not be disappointed.

Having bed bugs is extremely stressful and one of the things that really helps alleviate anxiety is a lot of good advice and information. I've been struggling with bed bugs in my unit in an apartment building and Scott has been an absolutely critical source of support and advice, in addition to the extermination services he provides. Scott came to my home and explained everything that needed to be done, step by step, to contain the problem. In the midst of stress and anxiety, I had a million questions and needed reassurance. Despite being incredibly busy, Scott was completely patient and answered all of my questions without making me feel like a pain in the ass. He will also take the time to explain what he uses in your home and how it works (if you're like me and paranoid about chemicals and pesticides). Scott's dogs are top of the line working dogs and he clearly spends tremendous effort and time keeping them trained and at the top of their bed bug sniffing game. When the dog is finished, he will give you a report and recommendations and will make a plan with you on the spot about what to do next. I have sent pictures to Scott on a regular basis just to keep tabs on the situation and Scott always responds in a more than reasonable amount of time and stays in close touch to monitor the situation. In the midst of my sleep deprived insanity, Scott kept me calm and assured me that the situation could be controlled and eventually alleviated. One thing that was also important for me was Scott is almost always right on time. With a busy work schedule, we all know an appointment in the city means the repairman/cable guy/whoever can show up hours later than the appointed time. Scott has always shown up within an hour of when he says he will. NYC Bed Bug Inspections has been a lifesaver. I finally stopped obsessing after the extermination when Scott brought in the dog to show there was no longer evidence of bugs. It is important if you live in a building to make sure your neighbors/landlord are adequately dealing with the situation to prevent a recurrence, but in terms of the services you will receive from Scott, top notch. read more

I had called another company for an inspection on a Thursday and they told me they didn't have any availability till the following Tuesday. Not great, but it was the one my landlord wanted, so I booked it. In the meantime, I was going crazy ... did I have bed bugs? Didn't I? A friend recommended these guys to me Sunday morning, said they did same day (he'd thought he'd spotted a bug that morning, and they had already finished checking his place and confirmed his suspicions). I called them straight away, and they were there Sunday night (albeit a bit late, as they had trouble finding parking). They did a thorough visual inspection before the dog went to work, so I got the best of both worlds. So when they said I didn't have any bed bugs, I actually believed them. (Also, since they don't do inspections, I was never too worried about a conflict of interest). They explained what they were doing and everything that was going on, and answered all of my questions very patiently and thoroughly. Even told me about this particular dog's background & training. Oh, and they were super discreet ... just a guy and a dog. No logos. So I didn't have to worry about whether or not my landlord would notice/mind that I was using a second company, to double check the one he had recommended (who also later confirmed I did not have bed bugs, confirming what these guys had already said ...if that ups their credibility). They were really very pleasant to work with, and I am very glad I did it. Getting my peace and sanity back a few days earlier? Definitely worth the money. I would recommend. read more

I travel a lot and one day upon returning from the UK, I woke up in my NYC apartment to find bites all over my arm! Bed Bugs were the first thing to pop in my mind!!! I called my best friend that had experience dealing with the issue in the past so he recommended I have a NESDCA certified bed bug dog search my apartment for the bugs. I got on yelp and found this company right away. I called nyc bed bug inspections and not only did they do an exceptional job of answering all my questions but they were available same day and were literally inside inspecting my apartment in less than 2 hours! It turns out I had bedbugs in the suitcase that was located right under my bed! Luckily however, the box spring and mattress was the only infested area in the entire apartment. These guys don't exterminate and that's why I hired them. I didn't want to hire an exterminator to inspect because of an obvious conflict of interest on the inspection results. After they left I called an exterminator right away and had my entire bedroom heat treated. An added bonus about this company is that they were so discreet that my doorman thought it was just a friend visiting with a cute dog. I highly recommend this service! read more

I recently had a bed bug experience in my home. I treated my home myself but I still wanted a professional opinion. I contacted NYC Bed Bug Inspections on a Friday night. I was given free consultation by customer service agent Scott. I was given an explanation of what could be done; He went as far as to tell me what I could do to eliminate my problem with or without their assistance. After our conversation they were at my home the next day. Upon their arrival to my home the staff was very polite, professional, and courteous. (The dog was friendly also). An inspection was done. Fortunately, to my pleasure and enjoyment, my home had minimum exposure. They then instructed me on how to proceed on my own, rather than causing me to unnecessarily spend money for services I did not need. I greatly appreciate their swift courteous service. I commend their efforts to educate people on how to prevent bed bugs rather than just wanting a quick buck. I thought I had bed bugs and called an exterminator that wanted to charge $7,500 for a heat treatment. I literally went into shock because I didn't realize how expensive the extermination actually was! I wanted to make sure I had the bugs to begin with so I called NYC Bed Bug Inspections and they came over the same day with a bed bug dog. The dog was sweet and these guys were discreet which was an added bonus! (I didn't want my neighbors or doorman to know). I was really amazed to see the dog search for the bed bugs, his nose was sniffing everything! When they briefed me at the end of the inspection they were very informative and provided tons of support. If you're not sure if you have bed bugs then I highly recommend you call these guys for peace of mind! I felt like a ton of bricks were lifted off my shoulders when they left. Months ago I found a bed bug. Tearing apart my bed down to the frame I found 7 more. Cleaned everything I could find. Washing and hot dryer. Spraying with bed bug spray and dusting with diatomatious earth. After that I have found nothing more. Not knowing if I was safe I called NYC Bed Bug Inspections and talked to Scott for a visit. He came promptly with a Beautiful German Shepard. I should have asked Scott first about the bed bug spray. It can hurt his beautiful partners nose and should not have been used if a dog was coming to inspect. Scott checked things out and told me what to look for and what to do in the future. No high pressure tactics , just like talking to a buddy about bugs. I will feel comfortable in the future if I need another visit. Just call Scott before you start spraying bug spray. read more

We have had NYC Bed Bug Inspections come out to two apartments because I'm a bit paranoid after experiencing bites this past April. Each time, the service was impeccable. John with Luna did our initial search and was able to find a bug through visual inspection. He stayed with us for 45 minutes to go through the other bedrooms and discuss next steps. Joseph searched our apartment today with Jack after a suspicious bite was found. They were extremely thorough and found no bugs or signs of bugs! (A huge relief...) Also, the service (while by no means cheap) is much more affordable than other services we found online. I highly recommend them. I used these guys while I was on vacation with my family. I had a suspicion that my hotel room was infested with bed bugs as I woke up with bites all over my stomach and back. We paid for the room in advance and the hotel would not give me a refund because they couldn't find any bugs! I called NYC Bed Bug Inspections in a panic and one of the technicians came over within the hour to conduct a k9 bed bug inspection on my hotel room. Within seconds the dog found a nest of bed bugs hiding behind the headboard! Very horrible experience but I did in fact get my refund after all and I moved to another hotel right away! I am so GLAD I found NYC Bed Bugs when I did! I searched and found this company when I thought I found a Bed Bug in my bed one evening. I freaked out and called them and they were available same day for an emergency inspection. They were friendly and very knowledgable on bedbugs. The technician, I think his name was John, did a great job of calming me down and the dog ( SO COOL!) did an amazing job of sniffing all around my apartment looking like he was about his BIZ. NYC Bed Bug Inspections truly helped me out. They were reliable, on-time, and always answered my questions. I needed a same-day consultation because I had a suspicion of bed bugs- they were able to come a few hours later to get my room checked out. I traveled this summer and rented my apartment while I was gone. I woke up with bites my first night back. I didn't see any bugs but then again I didn't really know what I was looking for. I realized I needed help so I called these guys. They came over and found a live bed bug crawling on my headboard!!! I was disgusted but relieved at the same time because I was so curious what was biting me... I can't tell you enough about how amazing this service is! First off, The doggy is soooo adorable! The beagle inspected the apartment I was going to sublet and he found bed bugs! The dog alerted on the bed frame right away. When the guy shined his flashlight at the bedframe there was a little baby bed bug hanging out. Needless to say I did not move into this apartment but I saved thousands of dollars not having to deal with a bed bug headache. 100% worth the inspection fee and I'd do it a thousand times again if It prevents me from getting bed bugs (knock on wood). read more

These guys were great and incredibly helpful. I found them here on Yelp and they definitely lived up to the good reviews. I had gotten a few bites, so I pretty much knew I had bugs. However, it was super helpful to have these guys' expertise in confirming this. Additionally, they were great with tips for prepping for extermination and for mitigating the issue in the meantime. Fantastic. I have been stressing about bed bugs for a while. I have torn my apartment apart, stressed over every piece of lint on the bed and driven my girlfriend insane with my neuroses. Finally, I needed piece of mind so turned to K-9 units. I needed them here quickly, and in a small window of time. Quick, reliable and accurrate! I stayed in a hotel over the weekend that had bed bugs. I had bites all over and was really worried that I could have brought something back to my apartment. I called on Sunday evening and had a K9 team at my apartment within the hour. The dog was really cute and did an amazing job sniffing everything. At first I was dubious because I was convinced that I was finally experiencing the bed bug nightmare. It turned out that they were correct. I have avoided the need to have the treatment. Really appreciate their knowledge and honesty. Rick was helping me out and could not have been more patient and focused on my "evidence." Their finding: no sign of bed bug presence. Their fee: $125. There may be something to a canine inspection, if they are well-trained, but if you get a report of bed bug presence, take a deep breath and get a second opinion. There seems to be an inherent conflict between a company doing only a canine inspection and then proceeding to exterminate. They likely should give a caveat that such inspections are not fool-proof and suggest you get an independependent analysis. Orkin is most professional and clearly their inspectors are well-trained. I don't get the same feeling about this establishment. Our home was in panic mode after the first inspection. That all ended when Orkin came out.

On top of that they want to charge $ you to come and do an inspection. Glad to report that i had successful bed bug services for a 1/3 of the cost, and I was given a range of what cost would be prior to the tech coming to my building, so I could make a decision and not waste any ones time. Also, Luis the owner wanted 100% payment upfront before they provided any service.

This company does accept credit card, will provide a written receipt, and is forthcoming about rates and fees. So many companies I spoke with were either cash only or had quoted a wide range of costs/fees that made it difficult to gauge what the end result might be. John has been a pleasure to work with and it is reassuring to know of a reliable exterminator who will be around for many years to come.

They sprayed and then came back and sprayed again for the follow up appointment. My problem is it never worked. I texted the guy back saying I was still getting bitten but I never got a response. 800 $ down the drain! Bites continued for a while until I bought some different pesticides online and treated it myself out of desperation; they seem to be doing the trick. The pesticides he used could be purchased for $100 online and a sprayer for $30. Save yourself the trouble, worst $800 I've ever spent.

I explained that the technician must arrive prepared to assess and treat in ONE appointment. I specified that he must move appliances, stuff gaps with steel wool, get under radiator covers and plug holes with foam-- no more but no less than that. Pest pro was the third place I called and the only place that was willing to meet my requirements of coming prepared to plug up and treat. The other two places said they needed to do an assessment which in my experience can mean just forcing you to pay and stay home all day twice instead of once. The person who showed up was new to the job but came prepared as requested and did a great job. They plugged behind my stove, placed traps behind my fridge, plugged under several radiators, and left glue traps out. In the end a wooden trap that I placed caught the mouse and I haven't seen another since. I'm pretty certain that the kitchen mice were coming in behind the stove which pest pro mouse-proofed well. It was $325 in the end but it only took one appointment and the problem is totally solved so I would use them again, though I don't think I'll have to because they really sealed up the place and recommended some follow ups which I can do myself for larger holes that they couldn't handle wit steel wool and foam.

Dan was able to come same day. He was thorough and professional and made the situation as comfortable as possible. After about 45 minutes of searching, he found one single shell and then the live bug culprit. Would recommend to anyone with a bug problem, well worth the money for the information, extermination, and pleasant experience overall.
