Was about to make my purchase (including an additional item) when the staff began speaking with a customer about how they should be allowed to openly play Christian music. The customer called those who complained about the music "demons," performing the sign of the cross, and the staff clearly agreed. Personally, I prefer my pet stores nondenominational. This place used to be great. They stopped delivering frozen raw dog food, which is, honestly, the only reason to buy from them in the first place. As for this location, even though it moved over two months ago, the address and phone number are still wrong here on Yelp AND on their own website. Which... how do you not fix your own website? The new address is 350 7th Ave and the new number is (718) 768-3954. But wait. Be aware that they really, really do not like to pick up the phone during opening hours. When they finally do, they just shout "Hello?" into the phone, and you have to verify that you're actually calling a store and not some random person's phone. If you can get what you need elsewhere, I would definitely take that option over this organizational disaster of a place. read more

This place has very subpar product but the worst part about it is the customer service. There is a gentleman who works here that's quite friendly but the woman who does is so incredibly rude to her customers that it makes arriving to make a quick purchase a very unpleasant struggle. Somewhat nice if you have a cute dog but beware if you come alone. If not for for my need to quickly buy some dog food this morning and the fact that I'd walked here to do it, I would just leave. Save your money and head somewhere that doesn't devalue their customers. UPDATE: I walked out of store with the food I ran my credit card for and this woman ran after me screaming that I was stealing. This NYC pet location on 7th avenue is a wonderful neighborhood shop to get all of your pet's supplies. The staff is warm, knowledgeable and very pet friendly. My dog Honey loves to make an NYC visit on her walks. They have a great assortment of foods, treats, coats, boots! Bravo! read more

Our dog's ear tips were bleeding for months and we coudlnt' figure out what was going on. We had taken her to two vets - all who tried to sell us diff types of tests that were $500 and up. When the vet (don't go to Brooklyn Cares!) told me that I had to get $500 in initial allergy tests , our dog care place (Kiki's Pet Spa and Boutique) told us that that Mike is an amazing pet nutritionist. I took our dog there - she the second mike looked at her he knew that she had citrus allergies, tomato, and carrot allergies. He was super sweet! he helped us pick out a new dog food (Orijen) and treats that didn't contain those ingredients. Sure, a few things are pretty overpriced here, but they carry a lot of natural, grain-free cat and dog food that you can't find at a corner store. Food is decently priced here, but the litter is pretty expensive. I think I'm going to stick to buying that stuff online. read more

This store is run by very friendly folks. We still come here even though we moved a couple neighborhoods over. When we can't make it in person their free delivery service is amazing. This morning they came within 15 minutes of calling! If I ever have to leave this area I'll be sad to leave behind these lovely folks at this wonderful pet store. read more

Not only do they have everything in stock but their prices are reasonable. I don't know about you but I feel ripped off by most Pet stores. The store keeps inconsistent hours. The hours on the door are definitely incorrect. I found that you have to call the day of to find out when it's actually opening and closing. There have been a few times that they've closed earlier than I was told via telephone. Poor hours and over pricing make it difficult to recommend. But, the location is convenient. read more

This review is for one reason -- the proprietor did the right thing. I ran in to get a box of cat litter -- double parked car, moving fast. I grabbed a 20lb box of Fresh Step and ran up the counter with my cash in hand. The woman behind the counter took my bill, then looked at the box and noticed there was a tear in the bottom. About 10 grains of litter were leaking out. "How about I give you a $3 discount and I'll tape it up," she asked. I wouldn't have noticed, and she could have charged me full price. She taped it up, I paid the discounted price and went home. That sort of thing just doesn't happen much these days. read more

Someone once told me that NYC Pet supports animal rights things, but I can't find that info anywhere. That's the rumor that brought me here. I have had mostly good experiences, with one bad one when my delivery just never came and I had no pet food for a day. I have had very bad experiences with the receptionist, but I just placed an order and it seems they have a new receptionist, which is great if it's true because the one before was rude and mean. I guess with overpriced Beastly Bite on 7th, and an exceedingly poorly run family pet store on 6th, this is the best option around. The owner or manager that's usually there seems to like animals and often has good advice. It's definitely not a sparkling review, but it's fine. read more

I live in the south slope, I have a cat, she eats organic and this place is perfect. They are friendly and helpful and they carry Wellness (that's what my kitty eats) as well as a lot of great toys,cat grass and treats. Sure , it costs more than friskies but my girl is worth it and this place if lovely and the staff is helpful. Plus they deliver if you need that service too. read more

Surprising how much variety in pet supplies they can fit into this small store! They don't carry our dog's food so we have to go elsewhere for that, but I've found some great toys for him as well as other misc items, and they've been very nice whenever we've been in. My 8 yo, 160 lb Newf is quite particular when it comes to food. Luckily, this company stocks his particular need. If they run out, they call their local affiliate to see if in stock. They get it to their store the same or following day, even provide timely, reliable home delivery. They take payment over the phone and do not keep payment info on file. I will never come back to this place. I realized that I needed more Weruva cat food for my kitty boy at 7:30 pm. I called the NYC pet down on 9th Ave and they said they had it, but when I walked down there, they were under construction and closed as a result (go figure). I then realized I had 9 minutes to get to the one on 7th Ave. So I RAN as fast as I could and arrived at 7:54, which should have been fine, but the guy had just finished closing up shop. He clearly saw me run up to the store in a major rush and still wouldn't open up the shop again even though he had closed early. I told him I needed to get food for my cat. He told me "Sorry, you can come back tomorrow." Really?? How does that help me now? I will just stick with Wag.com in the future. read more

I love this neighborhood pet store. The staffs are always friendly, and they have a good selection of food and other pet supplies. If they are out of stock for an item that they usually carry, they will order it for you. I recently discovered that they deliver with no additional cost - so I now get 40lbs bag of cat litter and have them delivered to my 4th floor walk up apartment (of course I tip the delivery person). read more
