Years ago I happened into an adoption while visiting a friend near Ft. Greene Park. Thanks to the adoption service at ASPCA's Burgh Hospital for helping me with my first adoption, which was a bit more complex being from out of state. Once it was underway, I cancelled my flight and rented a car to drive home with my new dog pal. Who's Your Doggy had all the supplies I needed to drive 600 miles home with my first dog as a grownup. Good peeps, uber friendly. The store was well stocked and reasonably priced. This is a late review so please read carefully. My dogs first groom at this establishment was some months ago when he was 7 or 8 months old. I have a pure breed Standard Poodle named "Benny" He's now 11 months old. Groomer Marlon, was very attentive, pleasant and complimented me on how well his coat was maintained and what a beautiful dog he was. Staff was very pleasant and understanding (Benny is a wiggle worm and all over the place) that coupled with his size is a challenge! I shopped and relaxed in the comfortable well stocked store until the groom was done. I live close to Brooklyn Hospital, so it didn't make sense for me to go home and come back. When Marlon was finished, I almost cried, my dog was so beautiful. He did an outstanding job. I tipped him handsomely, paid for my items and left. First experience: GREAT 5 stars! Second time 5 stars GREAT!! THIRD TIME...As usual I booked my appt. In advance, showed up early, waited and when it was time we went to the back. Marlon comes out, looks at me like he's never seen me or Benny in his life and immediately starts SCREAMING about he didn't know I was booked and Benny was MATTED and he'd be there for six hours and if I wanted him to shave him completely to the skin he could do that!!! Needless to say I was in shock!! The cashier and I got combs and proceeded to comb Benny. She mentioned that he wasn't even matted. Nothing that a good shampoo and conditioner couldn't fix. When we finished, Marlon still continued to scream about he wasn't going to groom my dog. Yes, my dog had a few Tangles but NOTHING like he was describing. It's also the dead of Winter so why would he suggest my dog be shaven?? Marlon slammed the door in my face when I tried to reason with him. I even asked if he could just trim his face to which he flat out refused. I'd like to note that my dog goes for regular grooms and we do maintain his coat at home. I don't go more than 8 weeks without a groom for Benny. Marlon screamed at the cashier for booking the appointment, customers were in the store and I was in tears. The owner showed up and I appreciated her apologies. She booked me for a free groom at a different location. When I showed up for that appointment, the front desk and groomer apologized for what happened and Benny finally got his groom. A happy ending 5 STARS. I will never request Marlon to groom my dog again. After the way he treated me, I wouldn't trust him with my dog ever again. I think he's tired and just doesn't want to do this anymore. Hopefully, the owner has replaced him with someone who really likes what they do for a living. Thanks for taking the time to read. read more

Sto I stopped in to pick up something for my pups breath and a harness to eliminate using the traditional collar around the neck. I was assisted by Tracy who was very friendly, and eager to assist me with my needs. She helped me pick out a harness suitable for my puppy and advised me of the great options they have to help combat his dilemma. Ieft feeling great and my puppy enjoyed the dental chews and harness. I should have know something was wrong because the second time, my dog freaked out when he realized where he was going. Didn't register with me, then I picked him up later to find he had been cut...literally. I would add pictures, but I don't see the option here. I asked him to be careful, as my dog was cut during the last visit. Marlon tried to deny it, even after seeing the pictures. Racist and nasty... AND THEY KNOW IT. And don't care. I've come to this store on occasion when I couldn't get to Petsmart or Petco, and over the years I've noticed there's always a different or new sales girl/cashier. -Always white. So anyway each and every time I've visited this store I get half ass greeted or not at all by the sales girl. While the white customer that comes in after me gets a full hello with conversation and compliments on they're dog. My dog is just as adorable and sweet if not more than any other dog coming in that shop. I'm always ignored and get a vibe that I'm not wanted. When I expressed that to my mother, who is older, beautiful, light skin and "non threatening", she told me that she experiences the same horrible service. This is one shop I hope closes down. My appointment was for Saturday 12/14 at 11:15 On the day of my appointment I had a lot of errands to run in the morning. The owner called me I think it was at 12:30. The owner was very nasty to me because I missed the appointment I asked could I bring the puppy later on in the afternoon. She said NO!!!! I asked could I bring the puppy the next day she said NO!!!' The prices are comparable to any pet store and you have the added benefit of a caring salesperson. The same dog food I had on my chewy autoship was recalled for toxic levels of vitamin D and I shudder to think what would have happen to my poor babies if the Alex want there to warn me. In particular I want to shout out Megan, who really went above and beyond to make sure that our dog was comfortable with her groomer and that we had an appointment time that worked for us. I didn't have a good feeling about this place from the beginning, the employees weren't very informative or welcoming for that matter. but my pup was extremely matted and was in serious need of a grooming. the groomers I normally take her to have been closed down due to covid 19 so I was desperate. Missy is a happy puppy, she's always hyper and extremely loving. She usually loves going to the groomers and getting pampered. When I picked her up she was pretty distraught and traumatized for the rest of the day. She did not want to play or eat at all. Her haircut was horrible, she has patches everywhere her coat was not evenly cut and her nails were cut horribly. it's almost as if someone chewed them off, They're all different lengths and extremely ridged. Overall the vibe of this place was just off and the results were unsatisfactory. I do not plan on returning. read more

Love that this shop (and what a good shop it is) is around the corner from me. I've been in the neighborhood for 4-ish years, it's so convenient. All the brands you could want and then some and an out of this world rawhide chew bar for doggos or more adventurous cattos. Customer service is always top-notch and pleasant. When I didn't see a toy I wanted, they immediately offered to order several for the store before I could even think to ask if that was a possibility! In fact, they've always offered to get something in the shop if they didn't have it or at least do some research into whether it made sense for them to have it. I've never used their grooming services as I have pets of the feline persuasion. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have an elderly, arthritic Chow Chow so I made sure to call and ask specifically if they had experience grooming the breed prior to making the appointment. I also explained my dog's arthritis and advanced age and asked if there were any concerns with either. I was told by the woman on the phone that Marlon "has been grooming for 25 years and has seen them all". When I brought my dog in for the appointment, Marlon asked how he is with the groomer. I told him he's never given his previous groomer any trouble in the past 10 years he had been going to them. Marlon then looks at my dog and proceeds to tell me about how a Chow Chow bit him on the leg one time and he was out of work for three months and that he doesn't think that my dog can be combed because it looks like he hasn't been groomed in a while. He then gives me a comb so I can demonstrate that the dog can be combed. The comb he gave me was the wrong type for a double-coated breed. Any professional groomer who has groomed Chows before should know this. I then asked Marlon to confirm that he would not groom my dog and proceeded to walk out of the store. The woman at the front offered an apology but honestly, what good does that do me after wasting my time bringing my dog in? Especially after I took the time to inquire about their experience with the dog breed and highlight the health concerns before even making an appointment. This experience was a complete waste of my time from the first phone call and it saddens me because I love to patronize local businesses. However the lack of professionalism on the groomer's part and not being forthcoming about their real experience with my dog's breed will ensure that I will not be back. I will also make sure that my neighbors who take their dogs to this groomer also stop patronizing them. read more

I really really really wish this was a better pet supply store as it's the only pet supply store near me. They don't have many different types of food... I think they only really stock Wellness and a few other random brands... and they don't even keep those foods in stock. They have a few different types of treats... I usually get my dogs dried chicken treats there... but it's kind of annoying because they don't always have them. I went to get a replacement harness for my dog after his broke.... their selection of harnesses was limited. They did offer to order me one.... but I kind of needed one that day. They used to have a crazy cat that would hiss and try to attack my dog... He/she hasn't been there the last few times... which is reassuring. UGH I REALLY wish this was a better pet supply store. Bed Stuy really needs a full-service, FULLY STOCKED pet supply store... this isn't it. read more

Hands down my favorite pet store. They've recently switched things around a bit and the store is fully stocked with awesome new things like CBD treats which my dog loves. Staff is super friendly and helpful and are great about ordering anything that they don't have in a timely manner. I lost my leash and was in a crunch for a new one! I didn't want to go to a big chain so I found my myself here. I want to support local industry! The selection is very small! It is New York, but they only have two leashes in stock! One of which, just one color and length! The prices were also twice that of what u saw online and in other independent retailers. You can't find a leash for under 25 with tax. They have an ok selection of natural foods and they do slant their products toward the natural and local. I did appreciate that -- but that doesn't merit many extra stars. The staff were nice. The facility was clean. The location is important. But selection stinks and prices were absurd. read more

Each time, the apathetic guy at the counter tells me they have what I need-- all to walk 12 blocks over for them to NOT have it. They're stock is always low and he's uninformed.
