Let me tell you that I've been seeing doctors for years and got used to chronic pain as noone could fix it, but Dr. Greuner diagnosed the problem within 5min of my appointment. I had an AVM surgery. He showed me every scan of my arteries and explained everything clearly. I felt calm before my surgery only thanks to him. This is the best care and treatment you can get, not just in New York, but worldwide. I came from Europe to specially see dr. Greuner and glad I did. No wonder he is ranked as top 5 doctors in the world. He is so carrying, knowledgeable and genuinely an amazing person. The staff and dr. Tonis were so friendly and welcoming, they took the time to explain everything in detail and answered all the questions that I had. Lipedema Ladies (aka Lippy Ladies!) I HIGHLY recommend to seek out services from NYC Surgical, they know what they're doing and it's an entire team effort. If you're serious about tackling this unfortunate and constantly misdiagnosed disorder then make an appointment with Dr. Bortecen ASAP. He does amazing work and understands the challenges that lipedema patients constantly face. You will walk away feeling heard (as we know, self-advocacy is KEY to battling this disorder), with lighter legs, the knowledge and action-plan needed in order to, one day, walk out of the office with the best results! My sister is the one who told me to come here because she really liked it. So I got a Groupon for 2 sections of spider veins treatment. The staff is super friendly and very professional. The place is very clean and neat. They do not discriminate Groupons customers with is nice:-) Now the treatment so far I only went once so i'm don't know yet if is good but they seem to really know what they are doing so I'm looking forward to great results! They do an ultrasound for every patient before they start treatment witch is the right thing to do, but many places they just start injecting you without it, so that also shows me that this place is good and very professional. Let me just say I would definitely recommend anyone NYC surgical,and here's why. For almost 2years I suffered with an umbilical hernia, which is extremely painful. I made 4 ER visits and all they did was push the hernia back in(painful) and gave me pain meds. I took upon myself to google a doctor. This place was the first one I saw. Made a phone call, they ran my insurance and in about 2weeks I had a consultation with the awesome Dr. David Greuner. Isabel the receptionist, who's always pleasant emailed me all the paperwork which was very detailed. The first person I spoke with was a really sweet nurse by the name of Ashley. We spoke about what my major issues were. Ten minutes later I met Dr Greuner who was super pleasant and professional. He examined my hernia and started to explain to my what kind of hernia I had and what the procedure will be. Guys from that moment I knew I was in great hands. He explained to me EVERYTHING in detail, showed diagrams when I seemed confused and was very patient. He was extremely honest about how the process goes how much pain I would feel etc. By my first appointment the Dr explain to me I have a few other issues besides the Hernia. I would constantly have to use the bathroom and couldn't stand for long periods without my legs cramping or feeling numb. Dr. Greuner fixed all of that, with my permission of course and I wasn't even there for that. Thank you Dr! Because of you I don't spend my days in agonizing pain anymore. I came to NYC Surgical Associates for my vein treatment. The location of the center is super convenient and easy to find. It was also easy to get an appointment during the time that was convenient for me. The waiting time was reasonable (approx. 30 mins). During my first visit I got a free consultation and a diagnostic procedure to make sure I didn't have any serious issues with the veins and that my issues were cosmetic. The Dr. took his time and answered all my questions, appeared friendly and caring. The staff of the clinic was friendly and welcoming as well. I received a phone call 2 days in advance to confirm my appointment and if there were any delays I was informed well in advance. My procedure - sclerotomy - was a bit unpleasant (it involves needles in the end) but it was not painful, I only had a burning sensation but nothing too bad. They also gave me compression tights to wear after the procedure and gave me very clear instructions of what to expect afterwards. It took a few weeks for the bruises to heal but I was very satisfied with the results even after the first procedure - a vein that I was annoyed by since I was 15 was almost 90% after just one injection. I came back for a touch up because I have larger veins in some areas, but it seems that if you have only minor issues it might be enough to come 2 or 3 times only. The results are incredible - my legs look smooth and I feel confident about wearing shorts and dresses even when my skin is not tanned and I don't need to wear only black tights anymore. Also, the compression tights I received at the clinic are super cute, I purchased more on Amazon. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience at NYC Surgical Associates and would highly recommend this practice! read more

Let me start by saying this practice is amazing. Hands down the best experience. I love Dr. Greuner. I went in on January 26 for a consultation for lipedema with Dr. Greuner. The appointment had me and my mom's mind blown from the friendly and kind staff to the doctor diagnosis of a ventral hernia. The appointment was very thorough. I was scheduled that day for several vein treatments and the hernia repair which included abdominoplasty, panniculectomy and liposuction. Today is April 17 and I have had all the surgeries for the veins and hernia. I am able to communicate directly with the surgeon via email or text. My experience has been amazing. I still have a ways to go as far as my treatment for lipedema but I feel so confident and reassured that Dr. Greuner and Dr. Neistein and the whole team will continue to do their excellent and cutting edge procedures to alleviate my symptoms . I've received treatment at several of their locations including the Manhattan, Roseland NJ and West Caldwell offices. They are all very clean and staff is amazing. NYC Surgical Associates does not deserve any star because they are not caring, compassionate or professional. They treat their customers like crap. I had a morning appointment in their NYC office. They cancelled my appointment a couple of hours before my appointment time, meanwhile I traveled from NJ to have a treatment. I asked the receptionist to speak with the supervisor to see if they could do anything to squeeze me in, but the supervisor had no interest in speaking with me. It was infuriating! I had to plan my work stuff to make this appointment, drive into the city (pay parking + tolls), print out (had to get a printer and a cartridge) and fill out their 10+ page forms they emailed me prior to prepare (the Covid-19 guidelines and all) for my appointment, and when I tried to explain all this they did not give a CRAP about it! After I got back home, I surfed the internet, and found out that there are many bad reviews about appalling customer service and numerous cancelled appointments. Further, there are many reviews about poor medical treatment results. So, save your time and money and take your business somewhere professional. In particular, NYC Surgical Associates treat their Groupon customers like "second class citizens" (if you're not paying the premium price you're not of interest to them.) Don't waste your time or money. First, I bought a Groupon for Spider Vein treatment on 6 areas. The treatment did nothing, my spider veins look exactly like they did before. Second, they gave me an ultrasound and told me I had veinous reflux and would need a series of 3 treatments at another office, that my insurance would mostly cover, but I'd have to pay a couple hundred for copays. My primary care doc sent me to a vein specialist for a second opinion and they did an ultrasound and told me my leg veins wok perfectly and I had no trace of veinous reflux. read more

I stumbled into this office because of a groupon for spider veins and was diagnosed with varicose veins by Dr. Gruener. This came as a surprise, because I had actually had vein surgery a year before by another doctor. I'm not sure what happened there, but I have been really suffering, teaching part time, and was internally dreading the looming prospect of going back to work full time; thinking that the best that could be done had been done, and I had to live with the remaining discomfort. After two procedures at the Madison office, I honestly can't believe the difference. It feels like a miracle to be able to be able to be on my legs all day and not be in pain. I also can't say enough about the team of doctors and nurses who make the experience so pleasant. They are super smart and kind and made me very comfortable and relaxed throughout. Not really sure what the scam is at this place, but it was the most unprofessional medical office experience I've ever had. Despite rescheduling (they are notorious for breaking appointments) so that I could personally speak to Dr. Greuner, he wouldn't come into the exam room to see me. The assistant gave me the lowdown on the surgery in question, but I had a lot of questions about alternatives methods, (which they assured me over the phone they performed). She could not answer my questions, and said she needed to "read up" on the very common alternatives they advertise they perform. (When you google search the procedure I went there for, NYC Surgical Associates comes up as specializing in it.) The assistant left to get Dr. Greuner, and after waiting 15 minutes she came back to say he couldn't talk to me and I should try going somewhere else. To support her suggestion, she feigned shock at how much my out of pocket would be, as Dr. Greuner is not part of ANY network. I had told her money was not an issue, I was looking for the best doctor. She was clearly using my high copay as a reason to get me to leave. Icing on the cake... as I left, Dr. Greuner's office door was open and he was cooling his heels (literally) shooting the sh*t with the other doctor. Absolutely the worst. read more

This organization is a mega FIND for many reasons: the variety of services they offer, the skill and expertise of ALL of their doctors, the friendly staff, the professional handling of patients from booking an appt to follow-through after a procedure or operation...I could go on and on. I have never had an office take such efficient, polite and capable care of me for anything. They don't keep you waiting past your appointed time, with is a miracle in this day and age. Importantly, they think outside of the box to find easy to address your medical needs so that not only do you get a thorough medical result, but the aesthetic is also factored in. Went to see Dr. Greneur at NYC Surgical a few weeks ago to look at my leg, as I have an extremely rare condition of Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome. I thought I was going to need to get surgery, but Dr. Greneur recommended we do a Venogram first. After seeing the Venogram, Dr. Greneur explained to me that it would not be in my best interests to do surgery because of the way blood flows through my very peculiar veins in my leg. The entire process was very fluid and Dr. Greneur is the nicest, most down to earth Doctor you will meet. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and he talked to me in a way so that I was able to understand everything clearly. I also can't say enough about the staff at NYC surgical, from the nurses to the receptionists. Dr. Arno Rotgans was also fantastic in assisting the entire process. read more

Dr. Greuner is a smart, compassionate, remarkably effective, fantastic doctor. I have been going to various doctors for years trying to understand what was causing such a variety of painful, uncomfortable, strange symptoms. Diagnosed with a very large uterine fibroid, my GYN recommended an ineffective and inadequate treatment plan. Luckily, a little google-fu led me to Dr. Greuner, who 1) identified a secondary condition (pelvic congestion syndrome) caused by the fibroid and 2) addressed both problems quickly and minimally invasively. With all the doctors over the years telling me nothing was wrong and pushing me out of the office, it feels like a miracle to have found a doctor who listens, who believes and understands my symptoms, who diagnoses the underlying conditions, and who addresses them. The other doctors in his practice are just as caring and effective. Dr. Hollingsworth in particular is remarkably clear, caring, and helpful in his explanations and procedures. None of the doctors I've dealt with at NYC Surgical have ever been condescending or dismissive, an experience that can be sadly all too common when dealing with women's healthcare, and they have all been knowledgeable, compassionate, and really good at what they do. The office and medical staff are universally welcoming, helpful, and kind. I can't recommend them highly enough. It's been a life-changing experience. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I bought a Groupon in June for schlerotherapy services. I had to wait an entire month for an appointment which was fine. It was not a big deal. Then, the day BEFORE my appointment I received a call that it would need to be rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict. I was annoyed but ended up rescheduling for August, an entire month later. I received a call on August 22th (three day before my appointment) from the office stating that they need to CANCEL AGAIN because the doctors do not have time to accommodate these kinds of services. She gave me the option of sending a check or I can wait for availability. I chose the refund. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate of peoples time. I went in to get sebaceous cysts removed from my scalp. I told the head doctor that the most important thing to me was lack of hair loss from the surgeries. However, there is a lot of hair loss and it is in a very noticeable spot on the front of my head on the bangs. It's extremely unnerving that I paid thousands of dollars to look like this. I literally look like I am going bald. Additionally, they did not get all the cysts. I just happened upon NYC Surgical on the internet after having been to a vascular surgeon whose treatment did not work for me. I met with Dr Bortecen who took great strides to teach me about lymphedema and lipoedema.I had been searching for so long to find the answer as to why I cannot lose weight especially in my lower half (even while practically starving myself and exercising)and my legs are swelling up.After meeting Dr Bortecen, a light bulb lit up and all my questions for why things were happening to me started to get answered! Dr Bortecen was very thorough in explaining to me what procedures needed to be done. I only wish they would accept my insurance, hence, I have to go elsewhere for the vascular issues that have to be addressed first before liposuction can be attempted. Oh my goodness! where can you find a doctor office where the whole staff is cute, professional, and friendly? I am not lesbian LOL but the first impression they gave me is everyone takes good care of themselves - great hair - pretty nails, and they all have great smiles that helped calm my nerves. I had a micro dermal piercing for about 3 years and it got infected a couple days ago. I went to a piercer - he can't take it out and what's even worse is that he ultimately pushed it in further under my skin. it was swollen and uncomfortable. So i have to come to a surgeon to cut it open and take it out surgically. I was referred by my primary doctor and was treated by Dc Semaan. He is not only professional and friendly, but also patiently explained the procedure and different scenarios to me. I feel in great hands. What really touched me was that when he found out my insurance doesn't cover this surgery, he stepped up to helped me remove the medal trapped in my chest and only charged me a basic fee to cover the medicine and materials cost. i am not encouraging people to come for free treatment but I have to say i am really lucky - Dc Semaan really has a kind heart and cares for his patient and genuinely wants to help. This is the kind of doctor we respect and want to work with. The office is super clean and the whole visit was efficient, professional, and friendly. I purchased a Groupon to get sclerotherapy done on my veins at NYC Surgical. Their office is super modern, clean and equipped with an operating room . When I went for the appointment after a sonogram and a thorough consultation with Dr. David Greuner I was informed that my insurance will cover a more invasive procedure to alleviate the pain that I was experiencing. I'm happy to report that I had the micro phlebectomy and I'm extremely satisfied with the results. Dr. Greuner has amazing bedside manners. He is very attentive, patient and explained the procedure in depth. In addition, he was able to conduct surgery on both legs the same day which save me time. Nelly ( the Physician's Assistant) found my vein without causing any bruise. I have been told that my veins are deep and often collapsed making it very difficult to put the IV but Nelly got it at her first try. Overall the whole staff showed a lot of empathy and followed up with phone calls and emails. If you are in need of sclerotherapy or any other procedure involving veins, do yourself a favor and go to a real skillful doctor such as Dr. David Greuner; trust me you won't regret it! read more

At first I loved this facility and the entire staff. I went there for several procedures and was happy with the result. After my last procedure, my ankle swelled up unbelievably. I called the office a week later, concerned, and was told to just give it time. A week later I went to the office and Dr. G assured me there was nothing wrong and I would be fine in a day or two. I hobbled out, unable to close my shoe, by the time I got home my teeth were chattering from fever. Went back the next day, and the technician did an ultrasound. Again, I was told no worries. That night, in the middle of the night, myhusband took me to the emergency room. I spent a week there finally having to have surgery to release the infection that had built up. I could have lost my foot, or worse, my life. I called the office three days into my hospital stay to report what happened. I got nothing but arrogance on the other end. Never another follow up form them to see how I was doing. read more

SAVED MY VACATION!!!! I used a voucher and being my first time doing spider vein treatment and wlking into such a beautifully located office I was VERY skeptical about not having to pay WAY more than my voucher and require many more expensive visits. NOT to mention being petrified that 1) it would hurt and 2) that my veins would look worse which can happen with just one/two visits...... I was MORE than pleasantly surprised!!!! The office was gorgeous, Dr was ready immediately to see me. He was professional and dealt with ME - very difficult patient!! He explained the markings that would show after first visit (which is blood pooling) and after follow up (COVERED BY VOUCHER) he proceeded to continue the process AND work on other veins I had been "chicken" for him to touch the first time. On my Caribbean vacation my leg looks GREAT and I needed none of the makeup I usually have to wear at the beach! I saw Dr Greuner for a second opinion for a vascular issue I'm having. I was a bit taken aback when he didn't want to review any of my previous imaging. I was then scheduled a follow up appointment to talk about the procedure we agreed upon after our conversation. When I arrived at my first scheduled appt: the front desk had gotten it incorrect. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I came in for my second follow up appointment a month later, and a different doctor walked into the room. This doctor didn't even know what procedure I was in for. When I said I expected to be talking to Dr Greuner on this appointment, he told me I was disrespectful and left the room. I left the office, and will not be returning. If I'm paying thousands of dollars out of pocket for a procedure and hundreds on one appointment, I'd rather work with people who respect my time and value as a human being. read more
